This weekend I am taking a break from WODs. I am going to focus on beginning my half marathon training and a bedroom makeover - paint, new window coverings, and new bedding.

Usually they post them before I get there. But I have a private coach (when he is not teaching the big class) so some days we do something totally different, those days I do not know before hand. Some days I like to know, others I would prefer not to it just depends on my mood. I know some folks don't show up depending on…

My gym just did something similar. Teams of 4: 1 flips tire, 1 overhead lunging, 1 running 400m with wall ball or other heavy weight (one team used a keg!), and 1 rests. Everyone continues with their task until the runner returns then switch positions. I did not do it as I was running intervals but it looked brutal!!!

Monday WOD 4 rounds 3 modified rope climbs 10 burpees 20 situps 30 pistols modified and used rope 19:52 I had a tough time with the pistols, I think I was concentrating more on keeping steady with the rope than my task at hand. :-)

Welcome Maite - our WODs are either the named ones (Heroes/Girls), or in rounds or just one round with a bunch of movements. Yesterday's WOD was kind of hard for me. It didn't look or sound hard but boy was I wrong! My coach ended up dropping the front squats to work on squat form because my knee was bugging me. So lesson…

You can only get better or stronger from here  At least that is what I tell myself during every WOD. I couldn't do anything when I started Crossfit and I have come a long way. It takes effort and patience with yourself. As for logging in MFP, I was wearing a HRM for awhile to get an idea of what I burn. It was…

I feel good - mentally, emotionally, and physically... isn't that enough "evidence" for ME? Indeed, it is.

Nice job Pam! Kelly is really hard! 5 rounds seems like an eternity. I have to use the smaller box (12") for box jumps due to not liking heights (even if only 12" off the ground), falling, and confidence in myself.

Tuesday WOD: 400m walking lunges: 17:16 KILLED my last time of 24:23 so flipping happy for myself! followed by 10 rounds: Handstand Push-ups modified starting with 10 and decreasing by 1 each round (10, 9, 8...) 10 V-ups

HA HA HA HA, I just checked our online WOD board.... guess what today is!??? 400m walking lunge day! I am super pumped :noway:
-
That is another one! 400m walking lunges are a complete dread for me. The first time I had to do that, I was so pissed off afterwards. But the next time, it was better but not fun at all!

I am a lush, too! But I have cut alcohol out until further notice because it just makes me want bread and cookies, LOL! My box uses bands and I really appreciate them. Being able to try and do a real dip on rings or pull-up is great for my confidence. I am definitely getting stronger as I have been using smaller and…

I pay the same for unlimited access to the box and my coach/trainer. I was going 5 times a week but I started training for a half marathon so I have slimmed it down. If you look at the per day cost, it is very reasonable in my mind. Like Pam said, the same amount someone would pay to each lunch out.

Today's WOD: 2 rounds for time: 30 deadlifts 95lbs 30 push-ups modified row for 30 calories 30 pull-ups (grey/small blue band) 25:10 Body was tired today. I definitely did not get enough sleep last night, just a few hours vs. my regular 7-8 hours.

Name: Robin Where you live: Portland, OR Time CF'ing: seriously, the past year but have been on and off for last 2 years Nutrition Plan: Paleoish/Primalish I totally love Crossfit and I could never do what I do now on my own. I have had great success with losing weight and toning since January when I converted to a…

I am thoroughly enjoying my Paleo lifestyle. You cut gluten, dairy, soy, and legumes. You eat a lot of protein, veggies, and good fats. I am having good success with it. I feel 1000 times better since I cut all processed foods and gluten from my diet. I have a little dairy here and there, that is all that I allow. But I…

Lindt 70% is my fave. One square and I am a happy camper.

I would start tracking your sugar. I have mine set to 30g per day but I try to keep it even lower than that. Once I started tracking sugar, I seemed to have gotten out of my plateau. It is amazing how much sugar is in food that you would never expect. Also, I agree with others about cutting out the protein powder and…

I eat Paleo/Primal. I allow myself blue agave sweetener and a little organic butter here and there. I will have some wine on occasion but try to limit it to very special occasions or once a month. Otherwise, I am pretty strict. I am having great success with weight loss and just overall health/well being.

However, I do not know if it is a one to one ratio when a recipe calls for regular flour.
-
I use coconut flour or almond meal as a flour replacement to make gluten free foods.

Do you like broccoli? You could roast broccoli in the oven. Take a head of it and break into bite size pieces then drizzle with olive oil. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 13 minutes.

First, I agree with everyone who says to go to your doctor. But, I was plateauing for a very long time until I went to Paleo nutrition (Primal). I cut out all gluten, soy, and dairy. Everything has gluten in it. Also, watching your sodium is very important. I have to say Paleo nutrition has been amazing for my body but…

When we go out for Mexican, I usually go for the fajitas also. I do not eat the tortillas, even ask them not to bring them so you won't be tempted. I usually just use a dab of sour cream (when I eat dairy) and avocado. Enjoy your time with the ladies!

Wow, it took me forever to find this thread again. I dropped off for awhile there. I hope you are all doing great. Happy New Year!
