  • That was a great, great, great blog. Thanks for sharing. I too have "crashed" this weekend and I tend to sabotage myself when I get to 168 and then I can go nowhere lower, just up again. This weekend was a prime example. I am a stress eater and that's what I did this weekend. I know have my HR monitor on and I am going to…
  • Great advice, gave me a chuckle! I will say, I've been doing this since May, reading a lot and being confused a lot! It's really truly individuality as far as losing weight. It's finding the right fit for oneself. I've tried a lot of the different things, in the end it seems nothing is budging the scale, but it's not going…
  • My hubby would drink chocolate milk and eat a banana after his "strength" workouts, but couldn't figure out why he was gaining weight, and I mean, gaining weight. I told him to cut out the chocolate milk and the 2-3 bananas a day and he'd lose it. Yep, I was right. I think in his case he was taking in way more calories…

  • I'm still trying to figure that out myself - trial and error - though neither seems to be working for me! Eat them, don't eat them, the scale does not budge an inch, but the inches are moving as far as the tape measure, so I'll take it. Eventually I will figure it out for my own body. Wish it was just easy. Now, where's…
  • P90X is a workout/DVD and C25K is couch to 5K, a running program. Welcome!
  • They weigh about half an ounce less after cooking. So, not a huge difference! Thanks for the advice.
  • Thanks so much for the tip! I had no idea. I only use certain features of the site and really should take the time and do more.
  • I finally bought the Polar FT7 and I love it! I too read somewhere that calories burned only show starting with a certain Polar HRM, don't recall which one, but the 4 sounds right.
  • Medical transcriptionist.
  • I would suggest putting some ice on it and heading to the doctor/urgent care. If you don't remember banging it, maybe you popped a blood vessel, but be safe and have it checked out, please.
  • I agree with them all here, give yourself 2 weeks - and don't step on the scale, if you can, and see what happens. Your body has adjusted to the 1200 calories and now you've given it some more. It will take time to "reset" itself realizing that those extra calories need to be gotten rid of. Give it those 2 weeks and then…
  • I didn't change my eating style because that would mean changing my entire family's eating style and that just won't do. I eat what we normally eat, but I make sure to count all the things I eat and keep myself accountable. Sure, sometimes if there's stuff that I really want and a lot of calories, I do a little bit more…
  • Those are the difficult ones! I wouldn't know how to count that, but I know I would definitely have 1 piece and then have a salad, lots of greens, that I could munch on between bites of my pizza. It may look silly but I also cut up my pizza and use a fork. Takes a lot longer to eat and feels more satisfying.
  • This is probably one of the most hardest habits to break! I'm in with both of you and it takes a different "mindset" come the weekend. The only thing I can say is you have to talk to yourself, letting yourself know the weekend is here but I can still do this. It probably took me a good month before I realized that I can do…
  • I chuckle, since my hubby's grandparents ate lard, yes lard, used it in cooking, smoked, drank and pretty sure didn't eat "healthy" yet they LIVED their lives to the fullest for their generation - and lived happily into their 90s! Maybe we need to go back to their way of life, lol! I live the way my family lives. What…
  • I think they are all awesome. Years past there were "strategies". This year it seems they all want the same thing -- to get to a healthy weight and stay there the rest of their lives! And I'm sure the money thing is in the back of their minds too!
  • Because I've done Weight Watchers for years and that was the "greasing the wheel" mentality. All engines need oil to keep the parts lubricated, stuff like that. Plus, I ran out for a week and I realized that I was more hungry by lunch without the olive oil.
  • That's great. Keep it up. :flowerforyou:
  • Great pictures - great inspiration!!
  • Make 1 new change a week, more fruits/veggies, extra walking, drinking water. Plan ahead of what you would like to change on a weekly basis so when that week comes you're prepared. The internet is a wealth of information with recipes that are healthy. The key really is portion control and exercise. Good luck!
  • It's great that you realized, stopped and thought before you acted! I think that is one of the most hardest habits to break. Keep it going! Laura:flowerforyou:
  • I'm also a convert - from 2 or 3 programs ago! While every weight loss program is really a lifestyle change, I found that WW worked for me in the beginning, but not anymore (plus its $$$ I don't have). This is great. I just need to focus more! Please feel free to add me as a friend for support. Laura
  • I actually put it in my oatmeal every morning, doesn't have any taste in there. Thanks for all the input.
  • Stay strong. Don't get discouraged. This advice comes from somebody who loses weight very slowly. Your body is trying to figure out what the heck is happening, but will eventually figure it out! So stick with it. Make sure you journal your food, everything you eat, your exercise, your water. Slow but steady wins the race.…
  • Welcome. I'm new x1 week. I really needed something to log-in that's "tech" friendly and this site is great! Paper just didn't work for me. Feel free to add me. Laura:smile:
