  • One thing I noticed from the one day's diary you provided was that you aren't eating any real food until 3pm when you have the chicken and rice. Try eating more earlier and less later in the day. Also, how do you sleep? It's been documented in literature that we can have a problem if you aren't sleeping well or long…
  • Congratulations!! A GREAT accomplishment - enjoy your success!! I had one of those moments several years ago and hoping to have another at some time soon.
  • Yep, I live in the Gayborhood or for others - Midtown Village...... I don't think I will ever run (bad knees) and just started working out with a personal trainer.
  • I have sandwiches for lunch several times a week and my go to bread is Trader Joe's - Multigrain Slim Sandwich Bread. Thomas's has a version as well that I buy when I can' t get to Trader Joe's
  • Hi all, I think I'm the veteran here having my surgery (RNY) on 10/30/2011 so I'm coming up to my 13th anniversary. Like most others here who have already had surgery and even though I had a major complication I wouldn't change a thing, except for gaining some of the weight back. My first year post op I lost 175 pounds but…
  • I love pasta and don't like veggies. I know that's bad but I'm doing better. I've tried the spaghetti squash and didn't like it much but after our nutritionist made us the zucchini noodles and suggested we get a spiralizer I really find them to be a great pasta alternative. Here is a link to a spiralizer comparison video I…
  • Just sent you a message. I'm in!
  • Congratulations! You are an inspiration to this older (in age) MFP member.
  • I decided I wanted to get a fitness band after finding that I did better with my eating after starting MFP because I like the game of trying to get the amt of protein my Dr. wanted me to get but keep it under 1300 calories. I thought I would feel the same way about tracking my steps. So I evaluated several of the fitness…
  • Love, Love, Love my Quest Bars! I just got a shipment from Vitamin Shoppe where I ended up paying $1.88/bar. There was free shipping for any order over $25 plus my order was >$75 which got me an additional $15 off. I typically have 2 bars/day to get me to my goal of 1300 cal with >114 grams of protein. My nutritionist only…
  • Thanks! Couldn't figure that out to save my life..... For my NSV, my dress pants (work) are way too big and all of a sudden it looks like I shrunk because they are also way to long and drag on the ground. I am allergic to exercise but I bit the bullet and last week started working with a personal trainer. I found someone…
  • Okay, a stupid question and although I get the jist of this post but - what is NSV?
  • Guess I better get myself a scale to weigh my food...... Great post!

  • I am a big time Diet Coke addict and the last time I gave it up was over 10 years ago after I had surgery when I had morphine drip which made the withdrawal bearable. That lasted over a year before I jumped back on the DC train...... Well back to 2014 and I haven't had one in the past 7 days. A few months ago we decided to…
  • Right now it's popcorn, but chocolate is now a close second.
  • I can understand your frustration! I've been working with a doctor and nutritionist which has helped a lot. Right now I aim to get 100+ Grams of protein and 1300 calories. Some of my favorites and frequent flyers are: - Prepackaged Tuna Salad in a pouch that I bring to work for lunch with a multigrain slim sandwich bread…
  • I can certainly relate to your situation. We have a nutritional coach we see twice a month and I think we put her through her paces because of our need to have "grab and go" type of food. Some of the things I've been bringing to work are: - ready to eat tuna salad in the pouch. I also bring whole wheat bagel thins to make…
  • It really depends on what type of exercise you do on a daily basis. If you tend to walk, or run it works great. If you are on an exercise bike or rowing machine it probably won't pickup your activity which can really be a bummer if you workout for an hour and then don't get credit for the activity. Also, it seems that if…

  • I love the Strawberry Cheesecake and Double Chocolate Chunk. I buy them by the case (12 bars) and keep them and work and home. They are great when I need a quick snack with extra protein. They are cheaper by the case and some sites have free shipping.

  • We just got one and so far love it. We used it to make "noodles" out of zuchini and they turned out great! We have very limited space in our kitchen and but think the Spiralizer is worth the small space it takes up in our place.
