  • Started with the nutritionist to help with our food choices and then moved on to the trainer. Couldn't afford both at the same time.
  • It sounds like you probably should see a physician. They may want to do a pulmonary function test to determine your lung status. It's an easy test and should give you and your doctor information as to next steps.
  • One day, one hour, one minute at at time......
  • I think about how good my life is compared to some others. I have a friend who has a metastatic cancer which is pretty much a death sentence. She has been on experimental treatments and she needs to travel across 1/2 the country to receive every 3 weeks. She has 3 young daughters and the oldest is severely mentally…
  • I did Optifast a long, long time ago - back when Oprah did it and lost 75 pounds. I did great on the program and was on it and didn't eat anything solid or besides the Optifast, water or other no cal liquids for 3 months. I even took a trip to Europe while on it and did fine. It took a few days to get into ketosis when I…
  • I have the VivoFit and really like it. There are 3 things I really like about it including: 1. It has 2 watch batteries and I don't need to recharge it every few days. I already have 2 phones and an IPad to recharge. 2. It has a display that I can see the time, # of steps I've taken and the # I have to my goal 3. It…
  • Muscle Milk Light - Chocolate.
  • Oh, PS - is that a Boston Terrier? If it is, see mine (his name is Fagan) on my weight loss marker at the bottom of my post?
  • Hmm, where do I start...... I really like their frozen quinoa. It is a mid-week staple in our house for when we get home late and don't want to "cook" 3 1/2 minutes in the microwave and done. I also like their plain chicken strips similar to Purdue's but it tastes real and not like chemicals. I take a whole package 1lb to…
  • Thanks for your amazing story! I appreciate the words your wrote and process you followed to get to your new and wonderful new life!!!
  • Great work! How long did it take you! Enjoy your new life!!!
  • Great Job! I'm about 1/3 to my "realistic goal" and so I understand what you are feeling.
  • Love this answer!!!
  • Do what works for you, we are all different. You may want to take parts of what she recommends that will work for you and ignore the others. I have specific things that will and won't work for me and I wouldn't expect them to work for anyone else. I eat when I'm hungry because if I wait too long I know I will eat anything.…
  • Congratulations! I need these kinds of successes to make the journey each day easier. At my doctor's visit last week he told me I was a model patient based on my MFP entries and weight loss. Yes, he does look at my diary!!
  • I got the Garmin Vivofit for a few reasons. I really like that I don't need to charge it because it has a watch battery should last about a year and I can change it myself when it is needed. Secondly it also has a display which includes time, date, # of steps, # of steps to goal, miles, and calories used. It is nice that I…
  • If you really have that much you could use it as a hair conditioner. I've used it back when I colored my hair and it got dry. If you don't have dry hair I would go with the dressing option mixing it with your favorite vinegar, herbs or spices. If you want to decrease the fat some mix half with yogurt.
  • Congratulations! I'm sure it is a great feeling. My current goal doesn't go that low but once I reach that goal I will re-evaluate.
  • I agree with the others, you're doing great. Don't beat yourself up about one evening. Did you have fun with your friends is one question you have to ask yourself. However, also don't let this bump in your journey screw your larger plan. This is life and you don't want to pass up an occasional fun night with friends, just…
  • This is my philosophy too. I'm in this for the long haul and I'm not going to avoid eating things I really want to eat. Last night for dinner I had popcorn and a protein bar for dinner. Not something I've ever done before but it helped me to get that craving out of my head and was able to stay within my daily calorie…
  • Congrats! I try to enjoy every milestone. I've made small goals along the way so I feel like I have had accomplishments but getting to halfway is definitely a big one!!
  • I've lost about 30 pounds and just this week 2 people noticed. My favorite comment was from a young man at work (I'm twice his age) said "Have you lost weight, a significant amount of weight??". It certainly felt good!
  • Thanks everyone! I plan to check out all the recipes and determine which one (or ones) I will make as the alternative to bottled.
  • This one is a little crazy and I wouldn't do it myself but here is a link to check out this way out there pizza. This happens to be the doctor who I've been working with to lose weight. He never recommended this to me since he knows I am very picky about my food. http://drseltzerweightloss.com/cooking-crickets-abc-news/
  • Congratulations & Great Work!!! Thanks for including the pictures, that really helps to see the transformation over time!
  • One of my favorite afternoon snacks at work right now is Greek %fat yogurt with a pack of splenda or stevia and fresh raspberries. It is absolutely delish!!! I won't be able to eat it much longer as I'm sure once they aren't in season anymore the price will go up dramatically. I want to try to add some sweetener, cocoa…
  • I've found that I'm not successful at most anything but especially diet and exercise if I'm not ready. It took me a while to decide it was finally time to eat better. I've done it fast and furious in the past but this time I decided it was better to start slow. I think this is best for me to make it a gradual process so it…
  • I'm such an idiot sometimes..... Thanks for letting me know I didn't include the link!! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=582451308531843&set=vb.323992514377725&type=2&theater
  • I've been heavy the majority of my life so like others in the same situation I have so many I could write a book but the most memorable are: 1) It was 1967 and I was 10 years old at a doctor's appointment. I still remember I was wearing what I thought was a cute little dress. He told my mother and I that I was fat and…
  • Arctic Zero - Ice Cream like frozen dessert that is only 150 calories for the entire pint. I usually only have 1/4 - 1/2 the pint. My favorite flavors are chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, & coffee. Quest bar Plain Greek Yogurt with fruit added and depending on the fruit I may add a sweetener Piece of cheese I try…
