  • just changed mine to open, will probably go through and add some of you guys, thanks! I've lost 30lbs since March of last year, and am currently training for a triathlon. Would like to lose another 10 at best. Currently weighing in at 143
  • I have no advice to help you, but want to give you support as Im in the same boat. Never done one before, signed up for a sprint distance one on Sept 22. I did a generic google search and am using this training sched. Good luck to the both of us, and kudos for getting out there!…
  • For what its worth I posted the same thing yesterday as well! I got some good responses: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/944193-hrm-too-high-calories-burned
  • Awesome, thanks for the input!
  • I have the Polar F4, with a chest strap
  • I had lost all my baby weight by my 6 week pp appt (back down to 150) but since I was breastfeeding I was so hungry, I ate EVERYTHING!! Ended up gaining 10 lbs. So I'm actually hoping to drop 10 lbs from my pre-baby weight.
  • I am just finishing up week 1 of this program. I LOVE it! I like that they are short but intense, esp with a 5 month old baby! I'm following the meal plan for a breastfeeding mom for lunch and dinner, and just trying to watch portions for dinner since my hubby and I do dinner together. So far, in the first week, I've lost…

  • I had about 1200 calories left at dinnertime tonight, so I thought Id go out for a chicken caesar wrap. I figured it to be about 400 to 500 calories. Holy Moly, over 800!! 47 grams of fat... 2234 mg of sodium. I, literally, would have been better off eating a big mac at 540 calories and 30-something grams of fat. Of course…
  • That was a great link, exactly what I was looking for, thank you!!
  • Ohh, good point, never thought of that!
  • I usually have a glass of wine 1 or 2 nights a week with dinner. I always log it and I always have enough calories for it. I heard the other day alcohol will inhibit weight loss. Is there any truth to this? Even if I have the calories for it is it just hurting me in the long run?? Any input would be appreciated!!
  • Hey guys, I have a question? I've noticed the ball of my feet are starting to get sore. I think that means its time for a new pair of shoes? Yes, No? Any recommendation on brands? Do any of you use inserts? Thanks! -April
  • Good morning to all!! I woke up this morning and my legs were kind of sore! I decided to skip a morning run and do intervals at the gym on my lunch hour. They'll help increase my speed which is what I need right now. Man, I remember when I couldrun 5 miles with no thought. I'll get there soon again!! Hope everyone has a…
  • I am in too! Joined MFP weight - 157 Current weight - 151 Labor day goal -145 Pounds lost per week - 0.85 Eventual goal - 137
  • Good morning to all. I'm intrigued by the mfp runners club. Is there a set goal everyone goes for, or is it just to check in with one another?? I have a very specific goal I need to meet for the military and I am a HORRIBLE runner. I'm steady at 11min miles, but I need to do 2 in 19 minutes. Today was my first day running.…
  • I stick to my 1200 calories during the week. On the weekends, if I have something going on, I stick to my calories needed to maintain. (The extra 500) I've always said I'll never go on a diet because the minute I say I can't have something, I'm doomed from the begining. I was in NYC for a yankees game and you betcha I got…
  • I almost always stick to my calorie limit. However, some days I notice I'm over on either my protien (last night I had a 5oz piece of chicken, and my cottage cheese for breakfast alone put me way over) or on carbs. That being said, my calories and fat are never over. Which parameter is the most important to stick to, and…
  • Haha, I read your post title and started laughing. I just said that this morning to a co-worker. My dog is the worst partner too, but for a very different reason. I'll start jogging and get into a grove. That's about when she decides she wants to stop and sniff EVERYTHING!! I have to keep yanking her along which slows me…
  • Found it. Thanks for the help guys!
  • Fabulous, thanks. Yes, I do work up a sweat!
  • Why don't you gain any calories after doing a strength training session at the gym??
  • Fudgesicles are my sweet tooth fix, I get the hood sugar free, only 40 calories.
  • Swimming, according to this article, is not the best for weight loss http://swimming.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=swimming&cdn=sports&tm=6&gps=385_1103_1020_529&f=11&tt=2&bt=1&bts=0&zu=http%3A//www.merck.com/mmhe/sec01/ch006/ch006e.html According to this article, it is great for weight loss (pg 2)…
  • When I have a fast food craving I buy the kids meal and get milk instead of soda. You can get a fast food fix for 500 calories. I know 500 sounds high, but not compared to the 900 or so!
  • Oh the veggie option, never would have thought of that, thanks!!
  • exactly. We're getting deployed next year so we'll be working out of a F.O.B. the entire time for practice. And I'm in a leadership position so we'll be up even later than the rest of the troops.
  • I came across a post a few days ago asking who was in the military, so I'm hoping to get some help here... I just joined this site and have been doing great for the past week and a half with logging meals and exercise. In 2 weeks I leave for my annual 2 week army training. I won't be able to log food. I won't be able to…
  • I totally agree. As long as I'm good during the week a few bad weekends aren't the end of the world. I feel like if I beat myself up I'll get nowhere. Ha, when I'm out walking I think "this walk will cover that sugar cookie I had" What happened happened, today is a new day, and I have a fresh spreadsheet for counting…
