  • I like "Going on" by Gnarls Barkley and "American Girl" - Tom Petty. I have a whole odd list of everything from the Beatles to Linkin Park that I run to.
  • I have heard that you should only weigh yourself once a week too. Now that I read this, this also makes sense so I guess whatever works best on an individual basis is what's right. However, I now think I will put my scale on the bathroom rug to weigh myself! Now, THAT'S some motivation!!!
  • I go back next week but plan on bringing a lot of low cal. snacks (carrots, celery...) with me to munch on whenever I can so I don't over eat during lunch. I might just might try to stay away from the cafeteria all together.
  • Maybe sugar , caffiene, or drink more water.
  • mmm....grill it and mix it will pasta. or grill it and make veggie sliders.

  • I would love to see other number besides weight! Great idea and great way to keep yourself going when you don't see the numbers you would like in one place, you can see them in other places.
  • OMG-Guilty! Great article for so many reasons. I love the "only run if being chased" idea. I think I need to make some changes tonight in the gym.
  • I guess it does make total sense now. I don't usually eat my exercise calories, but this will put things more in perspective for me. Thanks!
  • so I've been so proud of the calories that I burn and have been recording all of them. I'm double counting them?
  • I wouldn't give up. If you do that you're just letting this stinking "ouch' to 5K win! I've been doing it on and off for years, and somehow here I am at 180 something pounds and doing better with it than ever before. It does sound like you need to build up your endurance- could some of it be a mental block? I felt like…
  • this makes me feel so much better because I thought it was just me going over my protein! I agree that the goal is too low.

  • I TOTALLY know how you feel! I work out all week and no number anywhere goes down. My friend told me this though- I have at least a year of changing my habits to lose weight. We are bound to have frustrating weeks where we don't see the change that we expect or want to see. How do you feel? Do your clothes feel better even…
  • that's the one I have and love it.
  • Different units maybe? If you're measuring in grams and tracking in pounds. Are you in the U.S.?
  • Wow! Please do bottle it and send it along. congratulations- you are awesome!! :)
  • make sure you weigh yourself at the same time of day each time. i weigh more at night. and wear the same type of clothing too.
  • Are you adjusting how many calories you take in when you run? I know that when I lose weight I feel weak and light headed and sometimes even a little nauseaus. I read somewhere that is what breaks people's diets- that uncomfortable feeling. Maybe it's just your body adjusting?
  • ew, I totally agree! I thought it was a common courtesy not to eat tuna or pop pop corn in a communal microwave.
  • It is crazy. We are not allowed to wear perfume because of allergies. I miss wearing it too. My big annoyance is people that run to the doctor for every little thing then talk about how sick they are when they have a runny nose. Wow.....getting that out there like that really made me feel better. lol
  • you need more than 700 calories to keep your body alive if you just lay in a bed all day. No, that is not good
  • congrats! keep it up!
  • Just yesterday I felt the same way and some wonderful people on here made me feel so much better. First, I can say that you came to the right place. Today is a new day- make it up to yourself. find something to do to burn some extra calories. I felt the same way yesterday but I got up and bought myself a new work out dvd…
  • Thank you! You are all wonderful! I went out and bought the DVD. I might even try a little tonight before bed. Yes, sonjavon, I am committing to my profile right now. Thank you for your support and I am now......READY!

  • those evil little girls!!!!! Girl Scout cookie season is over around here but I did just find myself asking a scout mom if she knew where I could "score" some shortbread cookies! Ah, I guess they got me too :( pass them to someone else- let them deal with them.....lol
  • Ah, I've done the C25K too. It was great! Just google it- they have a website that tells you exactly what to do. You can also get an app on itunes for it too that tells you when to run and when to walk.
  • Yes! I also have to keep telling myself that I can always make more if I really want some. My husband ate the rest of the chocolate ice cream and I realized that if I really want some (and I mean REALLY) I can just go and get more. Once I realized this I didn't crave it as much. I love your picture btw- I can't wait for…
  • I eat them. Just smaller portions of them. That way I don't totally sabotage my diet by binging because I give in. My weakness is Iced Caramel Lattes.....mmmmm.
  • Right. There isn't a magic number. It does help to eat more calories early on in your day (breakfast). But again- if you are active you actually need more calories than if you sit at a desk all day.
  • woo hoo! My Science teacher skills can finally come in handy- it depends on how active you are. Your body will burn any calories it needs then store the rest. First thing it burns from a meal are carbs. then fat, then protein. You don't ever want to actually burn protein though. This is also why you shouldn't eat things…
