Agree 100% At the end of the day this has to be a lifestyle change and you need to teach yourself the things listed above. While I see nothing wrong with juicing to some degree, you still need to have a proper diet. Coming from the chick who has tried EVERYTHING, and a pack of gum to lose weight. Eating less calories with…

I do yes, I was at my goal, and then let loose (very loose) this summer and found 10 lbs.... so for me, I need too!

Awesome. You are beautiful :)

You are gorgeous and an inspiration to all of us. I can relate weighing in at 280 the day I gave birth. Now 115+ lighter :)

Lol cute Merry Christmas everyone!.

7th works for me too Guess I have a surprise date night with the boyfriend on the 14th.

I tend to agree!! If you follow this pattern - head first, heart second, glands last, you can weed thru quicker I would imagine, but finding 'the one' in 6 weeks of starting out seems very very lucky!
-
I can't speak for the issues you have, but I started running at 245 lbs with a bad back and I did it!! God it was hard, and my lungs hurt BAD, but I worked thru it. I highly recommend great runners because I started in sketchers and got shin splints. Good luck!

This is a really busy time for me to focus on this..... So I will throw out this idea and see who bites. Dec 7 or 14 (my 1st choice is 14). Bowl at Chinook Mall, then drinks/dinner for those who are interested at the Boston Pizza there? They have a healthier menu for those hoping for that. That's all I got lol...

Banff, AB, Canada... lots of beauty here and ski hills.

Highest weight 280 but started MFP at 245, I am 5'6"

It is scary, somehow I was able to maintain for 6-8 months, then I started slipping back into old habits and gained 10 lbs this summer. I know why - lots of beer, and bending my rules more than a couple days a week. I realized quickly though that I will need a strict regimn forever. I agree with what another poster siad...…

I have 2 pairs of ASISC GT 1000's and am happy with them!

LMAO LOVE IT!

Highest 280lbs Lowest 157lbs Hit a bump (ie summer fun) went back up to 173lbs and currently sit at 165lbs, with a goal of 160 by December 19! ETA: Goal is 155 at the moment.

I knew I was overweight but found it so hard to lose it and keep it off. I resigned myself to the fact I would be fat for the rest of my life, and it made me want to cry. I pretended to be happy but deep down I hated myself. In April 2011 my friend asked me if I wanted to start running and she told me about MFP. I told her…

It is funny.... before I started running, which led me to the gym for weights and cardio, the thought of doing such things made me cringe. While I was active growing up, I did things I enjoyed, like figure skating. Two years ago while signing up for my gym membership, my friend and I were talking/figuring out when we could…

Im having one Dec 19 and would love to see your pictures.... I just started a phase of 'maybe I am still to fat to do this' .... ugh!

Tonnes of Canadians and Albertans! From Calgary, AB!

We don't work together do we? my xmas party is Dec 6th.. LOL JK!!! We have had a group of people that get together for awhile now.... we have had 2-3 gatherings in the past year, some of us are friends outside MFP now, and we even got together as a group for Zombie Survivor this past summer.
-
I wouldn't mind doing a group hike/run at anytime, but I think for this we should do something more 'fun' for everyone.... not everyone is into that sort on thing on here!
-
As Jenn said if you register by Jan 1/14 you get the early bird deal, but if we can get a team of 4+ we save $5 and if we get a team of 10+ we can save $10 -- so $45 each. How should we go about getting this team together to get the best/cheapest rate?

While I never thought my body would be perfect, I didn't realize how bad mine would be. At 160 lbs I didn't think I'd have to tuck my gut into my pants.... like tuck it in, it's not normal. I'm sure this contributes to my messed up body image.

I didn't read the entire article, but just some thoughts on my mind. 1. My highest weight was 280lbs the day I delivered twins. When I decided enough was enough and I was going to lose weight, I thought this would fix all my problems -- mainly man problems my whole life. I figured this was it, and life would be perfect.…

My highest weight was 280, I am currently in the low 160's.... I have alot of loose and extra skin, but I attribute it to the twin pregnancy that got me to 280 lbs. Lifting weights helps, but I chose surgery becuase I know alot of my issues can't be corrected otherwise.

Both look fun and a good challenge to work towards! Calgary would obvisously be easier than Red Deer. Anyone ready to sign up, and if yes what heat time? Just so we can start to put a team together.

I do it, heck sometimes I do it twice a week, and I have lost the weight I have.... it can get tricky though, cause you can just fall off the wagon too... works for some, not for others... I don't eat back ANY of my exercise calories and tell myself those extra calories balance out the cheat day.... who knows, lol, but…
-
At first my goal was to solely lose weight.... and all I did was run for my exercise. I lost a lot of weight quickly, and when I started to be happy with the loss, I moved more to weights, etc. I didn't see the scale move much from then on, but I noticed the shape of my body change. I think both are important, but I think…

If a Spartan run is what I think it is, I would be interested. The word sprint scares me, but I will check it out :) I kinda lacked on running this summer, but do love it. Would also love to do another group for the zombie survivor if it comes back!
