You also can't afford to injure it again. A good physical therapist is worth his/her weight in gold. I had back surgery last April, but my therapy could be totally different than what yours would be. I would really, really try to get in at least once and maybe explain your financial concerns.

Build up your running base and upper body strength. You'll need both.

I wasn't a fan of Cronometer. Too many basic things you needed to upgrade for, like separating meals out. Their database was weak too, but maybe it's better now. A lot of things I scanned weren't found. I've been here too long and have too many recipes built to switch over. I'm not a competitor or any kind of athlete, so I…

You should look out for eating too many calories, just like with any other diet.

I assume if you take a selfie from 3 feet above your head, you're probably a whale .

I had (2) Fitbit Ones and a Charge HR. The Charge HR was wildly inaccurate and I sold it after a few months. I really liked the One, but I've found that Fitbits in general have a shelf life of about a year to 18 months and if I'm shelling out $100+ a pop, I feel it should last longer than that. My last One died and I…

This. I also have DDD and a few herniations, one of which I had surgery on. Once your back is fukked, it's a long, hard road to unfukk it. Don't mess around.

Congrats on your weight loss! Sadly, there are people here (not just the men can be creeps) cast a large, random net to see who answers and who doesn't. A thread such as this is going to have the opposite of your desired effect...you're likely to get more messages/attention than not. As long as you don't give it life, the…

Profile pics of you in your underwear will usually do it.

That's some dangerous advice. Can you see a physical therapist?

I would not be messing around with potential nerve pain. Get thee to the doctor.

I'm sure you know that there's no one size fits all when it comes to rehab for back issues. What one fused person can do, another may never do again. You just never know. I'd get to physical therapy if you haven't already, and I'd make sure that therapist has a background in lifting. I haven't seen anything online that was…

If I chose to do that diet, I would in no way expect the rest of my family to follow suit. If it's a matter of incorporating new, whole foods into their diet, it's a matter of trial and error to find out what they like.

This guy.

You rang?

I read those complaints as humblebrags. As for messages I've received here...it's entirely dependent on a) what thread I posted in (Chit Chat is where all the creepers are lurking) and b) what I have for my profile pic. I once purposely changed it to a headless shot of me in my bikini and went into Chit Chat. I got several…

I would get a referral to physical therapy and work on fixing the cause of your pain. Blindly following internet advice when you don't know why you're having pain is a recipe for more pain and/or worse injury.

If it is truly that bad, I would probably be calling my surgeon. Have you done physical therapy? I am 6 months post L5 S1 microdiscectomy and I will honestly say that I feel better when I am active than when I am sedentary. I lift weights 3 days a week, try to walk a lot, and keep up with my PT exercises. I also try to do…

I think fitbit gave me about 200 calories for an hour class, but really, I love it enough not to care what I'm burning. I do it for its other benefits.

My husband was out for about 3 weeks when he had it, but he had no desire to work out since he felt like crap. He never got it again, but he also doesn't take the medication that likely caused it in the first place.
-
Are you going to physical therapy? My surgeon was pretty useless when it came to him telling me what to do and what not to do ("don't do anything that hurts" Mmkay), but my physical therapist was a wealth of info. I'd start there if you haven't already.

"I can't eat all my calories"

I'm struggling to see why you think a 2-3 hour nap every day is something normal to celebrate. Unless you're a 1 year old, of course.

Gatorade and McDonald's sausage egg McMuffin with cheese, and like, 3 hash browns. That's if I can get out of bed at all.

I don't believe this has ever been asked before. Oh wait... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10182095/sex-is-cardio-correct http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/195387/sex http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/478765/sex-a-form-of-cardio…
