  • I have been a runner for 10 yrs and I agree with everything said above ... it is very difficult to lose 'those last 5 to 10' pounds while training for a distance race so be careful. It is more of a fueling your workouts balance.
  • TOTALLY AGREE!!! I do realize that with so many european measurements it gets a little confusing but I can work around that....
  • It is absolutely crazy how much size and weight have no direct connection looking at these responses! I am 5'10" currently weigh 170 lbs and wear a US12. At goal weight I will weigh 150 lbs and be at an 8/10. At my thinnest I weighed 136 and at 5'10" STILL never wore smaller than an 8. A random 6 but never could just pull…
  • haha - I am 38 and I think all of us 30somethings are neck deep in raising kids and workinga nd commuting. LOL... We haven't figured out the art of slowing down yet. I will say I love my 30s.
  • I'm in. I need a simple focus and it will lead to better things!!! Thanks for the challenge!!
  • hahahahahahaha :)
  • well then - there is ALOT to say for this one also....
  • THIS HAS BEEN HUGE FOR ME!!! I do this exact same thing.
  • I get that cyclist need to share the path but when they scream at me to get out of their way I want to stick my foot in their spokes. I get it dude. I also always acknowledge with at least a finger wave everyone I see out on the path (as early as I am out, even just to say, Great Job!) But tops in my book is the number of…
  • I log everything except dinner first thing in the morning .... unless I am sure of what dinner will be, then I log it also. I take breakfast and pack lunch and snacks for the day so I just need an idea of what I have left for dinner. No matter what, logging is 99% of my success!! I also like to have everything logged so…
  • Up at 3:45 4 to 5 days a week to run before getting in the shower at 5 and then loading kids in the car for our daily commute to sitter and work... and back again... I don't get home till closer to 7 most evenings so there is no way by the time we eat and bathe and get kids to bed that I want to work out... I am blessed…
  • Running is hard to give up when you have limited slots of time with family and work and such but try to never give up those core/circuit workouts just for another run. It's the worst thing we do to ourselves. Keep a strong core to help keep the running injuries away!! Good job with everything!
  • That is fantastic!!!!! LOVE to hear about success!! Thanks for sharing!!
  • THAT IS AWESOME!! What a great journey you have stuck to!! Congrats - Don't stop yet!!
  • My first husband actually introduced me to my DH several years before we were even married. DH was a guest at my first wedding... Then just as first husband and I were splitting up, I started working with DH... He has been there for me all along in the background... I pinch myself every day. Its like living a dream with…
  • GREAT STORY!! I was there with you girl last weekend!! Only I turned left at that big sign with the arrow that said 'Half Marathoners Turn Here!!' :) YOU are a winner, and a hero! Keep it up!! GO BUCKS!!
  • It is very hard. I have children the same ages as yours... almost 3 and 5 mo... I have broken down and I run 3 days a week at lunch. I have a 45 min lunch period and no showers and I work is a business casual environment so it is not convenient. BUT it is working for me and it's the only way I can do it. I get up at 4:15…
  • Amen to Jen. With my first I sat around and ate whatever I wanted. With my second, I didn't. I logged what I ate, I ate well, I stayed more active and I am getting the weight I had left off much faster this time. Goodness, children are worth any amount of weight gain and stress. :smooched: I also got ALL of baby weight…
  • Overall - I did pretty good. The only day I went over was Sunday night because dinner was late and I started munching. But otherwise really good. ZERO weight loss. But now that I am over whining (thanks Lu!) I will move on. Logged EVERYTHING. Exercised as planned Only over calories one out of 3 days. Let's do this next…
  • Me too. Plan - I am going to the grocery tomorrow so I will go armed with a menu and a plan. Run Sat and Sun - NO excuses! Dinner out on Sat with friends - mexican. Check out the menu online before going. Bowling afterwards so that is good. Treat - 2 light beers (I have been saving up all month) :drinker:
  • I don't know the technical answer to that but we don't ever purchase ground beef anymore as my husband is an avid hunter. We do not add any beef fat in the packaging however. I think you only really need that if you are making hamburger pattys and really want the added fat and flavoring. Venison is typically very lean. I…
  • I have never had success with any strict diet programs while in the last 12 weeks of training for a marathon. Maybe the first 3 or 4 weeks but no way after that. You could do it but I think you would notice a huge loss in strength building and endurance and worst of all overall health. Stay healthy!!! ---Just my 2 cents!!…
