  • Weren't we due for a weigh in this week? Not that I wanted to mind you because I lost 2lbs then found 3.. But I did lose another inch of my waist...so it wasn't a total loss...I just need to be more strict and stop eating the JF. I have a bad habit of sabotaging myself after a 1 week 2lb drop....I have "GOT" to stop…
  • I don't plan on it....I've never wore a full piece and I have NO intention of starting
  • No such thing as too many veggies EDIT: yes it is what you put on said veggies that could be a problem...
  • You're just starting out...give it time. When I was a beginner runner; I would get this around mile 1 (and I didn't run and take walking breaks). Now I get it as soon as I start...sorry but I just LOVE to run and as soon as I start my heart sores.
  • First - What is the issue? You might want to delve into that....seriously; what are you afraid of? That someone will "see" you running? Would they care that you are running? Are you afraid they will make fun of you by yelling something rude? You have to first figure out what is causing the fear..pinpoint the exact fear you…
  • I'd say there is a noticeable difference! GREAT JOB!! Keep up the great work!!
  • I'm 43 but people always think I'm in my early 30's  ....too funny! They freak when I tell them I have a 22 year old son! LOL
  • But...there is no reason for you to feel ashamed; even the greatest athletes get injured. While it doesn't quite compare...I was trained and ready to run a half and hurt myself also (a kitten injury...yes, it's when a kitten zips a 1000 mph between your legs and you almost get knocked off you feet by a 7lb pile of fluff).…
  • Home b/c I have everything I need here in "my" home gym and when we get down to it..I'd so much rather run outside then on a treadmill (even though I have that too)...AND there's never an excuse NOT to workout....it's ALWAYS open and I never have to go outside in the (fill in the blank for an excuse). I can crank my music,…
  • I've never seen the movie; but I do believe in You are What you Eat (and I have watched plenty of Gillian McKeith's shows and have her book). I have also taken classes on raw food diets and believe in eating whole, organic, raw foods the majority of the time. I am much healthier and happier when I do eat that way. Not…
  • Anything and everything; I've never "sat out" from exercise due to a cold. I've sat out from a hernia (forced by the doctor - it turned out to be a pulled groin not a hernia) and I didn't exercise when I had the H1N1 thanks to our movers; I thought I was dying or maybe I just wished I'd die and get it over with. Other than…
  • If I were getting serious calluses....I'd buy gloves. I used to have a pair but I don't recall what happened to them...I've moved a hundred or so times, so who knows (lost in the shuffle?) I haven't worn any in a long time and I only have very slight calluses, so I don't worry about them.
  • When it's cold out; drink hot or warmed water with a little flavor in it (like cinnamon or ginger which are both "warming" herbs)
  • There is no "You MUST cut out" list for everyone; because there is no "one size fits all". I have issues with sugar, gluten and dairy; but someone else may have no issues with those things. Oh and btw - I don't cut them out completely; I just try to minimize them. I will say that I cannot handle high fat foods (again, I…
  • Fantastic job! Keep up the great work and you'll reach your ultimate goal! And who knows...you might wind up considering yourself an "athlete"....
  • You look great; one thing I would say...is you should forgive them (all the bullies) for yourself; whether they're sorry or not. If you hold the grudge, you put yourself on their level and....it eventually eats you up inside through sickness (seriously). Also, you could have accepted his apology but that doesn't mean you…
  • ^^ This; compete against yourself not others. There are going to be runners that are faster than you and runners that are slower than you. Always put forth your best effort and if you are racing...try to beat your last best time. If you put forth your best effort...you're a winner.
  • I love tabata but I am afraid to try sprinting on the treadmill for this; so far I've only done jump rope and stationary bike (and only 4 minutes total)
  • My fastest 5K ever: 23'31" but I'd like to get around 21
  • Okay, I'm all about nutrition....and I don't even LIKE pop tarts and can't eat "real" ice cream (yes I eat skinny cow, weight watchers or so delicious) b/c it has too much fat and it hurts my stomach ...but that is just horrid! A rice cake is like eating cardboard; no way are they good for anything but maybe providing…
  • Oh man...you just called me lame. I already reply **LIKE** to some things (not everything mind ya) Yes, I check MFP WAY more than facebook; I log into MFP before FB and I'm on it for maybe 30 minutes before I ever log into FB. Never thought of scanning your neighbor's fridge so you can calc the calories of what they…
  • People tend to be dense, that and since they're fat...they want you to stay fat with them or at least fall off the fit wagon. That being said, when I worked in DC (I know work from home so the only saboter could be myself). I would just politely decline with no reason. I would simply say, "no thank you". I don't have to…
  • Great job! And what a fun way to spend some time together as a family!!!
  • Check out this website: http://www.athletestreatingathletes.com/ I would get a foam roller, a tennis ball and start stretching. I had the same issues and I ended up pulling my groin, so be careful (I too sit at a desk in front of a computer all day)
  •   Too funny and it sounds like something I would do and of course NOT on purpose. At least you didn't brush your teeth with Preparation H (no I haven't done that..but in grade school I had a whole list of "you know you're going to have a bad day when...)
  • I know how you feel....I was ground completely (zero exercise) for 22 days while waiting to find out if I had a hernia. Luckily I just have a pulled groin and I'm allowed to go back exercising, though I have to take it easy. Eat perfect, seriously, no junk food. Stay on track with your calories until you can exercise…
  • Only 2 lbs but also 1/4 inch and I was on the sick, lame and lazy list for 2 of the 4 weeks. I'm happy to announce, I've been cleared off the sick, lame and lazy list and am allowed to "go racing" Okay, I'm allowed to run again, but after 22 days of zero exercise...I have to take it slow. (no hernia; just a…
  • Thanks for the comparison; b/c I really wanted the 610 but its too expensive but the 210 with the HRM chest strap and Foot pod is more doable price. I currently have a MIO but I do't like it b/c it's hard to check your heart rate while running (you have to press buttons on the watch...not very easy and I don't think it's…
