Are you doing resistance/weight training as least 2x per week? If not you are losing muscle mass and not fat and it will take much longer for you to drop a size.

1 - PMS tea is helpful - start drinking 10 days before you period is due to start 2 - Eliminate dairy, grains and all sugar from your diet (at least during that 10 days before your period is due to start) Change to Paleo - no cravings, ever

I totally understand and I'm not sure why it is that way, except that perhaps because more than 1/2 the population are overweight. So, I have gained some weight over the last year. I used to be a size 2 but I got an overuse injury in my periformis during training for a half marathon last year (ran the race anyway in…

I wouldn't say I'm a beet hater...I love veggies! But, I have issues with the taste. I do however, LOVE the Red Velvet Smoothie posted by Thrive Forward....I make a couple small changes - I use unsweetened almond milk as my base and I toss in 1/2 cup strawberries or cherries.…

I recently started Paleo...then we had a family emergency and I had to leave town. I was caring for my mom and I didn't have cell service and could only log into the computer before I went to bed for a couple of minutes to check e-mail. So, for my first 3 weeks I was really flying by the seat of my pants. I am now back…

You messed up by drinking the OJ. Cutting all sugars including fruit from your diet for a little while re-sets your body's sugar/insulin. You are just going through withdrawal symptoms. Just like a junkie going off drugs or an alcoholic going off alcohol. Here are a couple of sites I referenced to detox:…

It all depends... I would set small goals, one you reach them you can always re-assess. Your size depends on your body shape and how your losing weight; if you aren't gaining any muscle and just losing weight, you might not drop a size as quickly as someone else. I try to steer clear of "generalities" because that is what…

If it isn't a change you can stay on forever....it isn't a good way to go. You want to make good, healthy life-long lasting changes to your "diet". I put that in quotes because a diet is usually associated with "short term changes". And that just doesn't work, however long-term healthy changes to the way you eat & live DO…

It has nothing to do with your height I am 5'2" and 4.5 mph is a brisk walk for me Jogging is 6-6.5mph Running is 7-10mph

Runtastic I found WAY over-calculated my distance and speed, so I got rid of that plus it had issues connecting to satelite all the time Nike+ I thought was pretty good until I ran my first half marathon and Nike+ calculated I ran 14.58 miles :grumble: ...now I know since it was a certified course it was going to be more…

I live in NC and do not have any issues; however you might try not "dining" at fast food joints. All the places you listed are fast food aka fat food. I do go out to lunch with my team at work and I always look at the menu online first. You can choose lean meats, have a salad (vinaigrette dressing on the side), I don't eat…

I wanted my son to be home, but he was instead going to go across the country to see his girlfriend. He wasn't able to get off enough time to drive cross country, so he's coming home for Christmas now  ...I am sorry he won't get to see his girlfriend. I'm sure she is  But I'm happy for me.…

okay, this is what I used to do when I lived outside DC and had to get up between 4-4:30 in order to get to the gym before work. I laid my shoes by the front door with a towel, water, etc. SLEPT in my gym clothes So, when my alarm went off...I may as well get up and go b/c I'm already dressed, just brush teeth  It…

I won't say I feel ugly but I still feel fat and it's been 6 years since I lost "the weight". When I look in the mirror I still see what I don't like about myself and I still have to remind myself where I used to be. That being said, I was overweight all my life until age 38 when I finally lost the excess baggage. When you…

Please explain where you get your opinion "humans were not supposed to be meat eaters." This blatantly incorrect; we are omnivores, not herbivores. Also, where do you get meat causes bowel cancer? The only way meat could cause cancer would be if you never ate any fiber. If you eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole…

Is it possible? Yes? Is it advisable? No....I would talk to your doctor; you really should gain some weight when pregnant because your baby needs the nutrients and you can't subtract them all from your body.

Walking is always good; but the Tough Mudder bootcamps will get you toned and you need virtually no equipment. http://toughmudder.com/tough-mudder-boot-camp-training/ I do say virtually, because a bar to do a pull up on would be handy, but you can do alternative exercises that work the same muscles (let me know if your…

ooh, I hadn't thought about depreciation of my shoes...I guess at $0.23/mile my last shoes were really ready to be retired  Only at a $1.44/mile on the new ones. Oh and I've lost 3 toenails since 4th of July (not the big toe); I think it was from running in shoes in sand and surf though.
