This is your first step. Everyone will give you advice on when to work out and how to schedule stuff in. You already know all that stuff. You got distracted by life, as we all do. You are here now. You are recommitting. That is what matters today. So take it one day at a time, do the best you can each day, and use the…

Zoey - Yup, the biggest downside to outside is not knowing how fast you are going. I live in New England so it is now officially treadmill season. The first week I started using it I felt THE BURN because I was def walking much faster than I was outside. My outside route is 3.1 miles and I would do that in 50-60 minutes.…

Feeling guilty for eating at Moe's? How unrefined do you think organic packaged food is? All your organic prepackaged food is highly processed. And tofu - really? do you know what they have to do to the soy bean in order to make it editable for you?

that is my story right there, too! ^^^^^ back on track, feeling great 2 weeks in. Feels good to have some control over my day. MFP helps so much!

Wow, Jason. That must be very tough. Keep up the good work setting reasonable and obtainable goals. You can do it!

My little wins - yes, it is kind of cool to think about the ABILITY to CHOOSE and how GOOD it FEELS. 2 weeks ago I was tripping out tot he kitchen to grab a handful of candy/cookies/salty-snacks 3, 4 or 5 times each day. Now I choose fruit, water and hot tea, and I exercise and I feel so good, so in control. It is an…

I had a complete thyroidectomy in 1998. I felt 1000x better afterwards. I did baby myself while sick and waiting for surgery. I used to eat 3 or 4 grilled cheese sandwiches every day (comfort food) and I was sleeping 12-14 hours a day with little activity (just at work). For fun I'd get chicken nuggets at Wendy's and fries…

Welcome, Chris! You can do it! Set small goals, take it one step at a time. You. Can. Do. This.

I had a severe case back in 2005-06, had surgery, and felt much better after. It is back now on my remaining ovary and getting worse and worse each month - fewer 'recovery days', more 'handfuls-of-Advil' days. Thank you for posting - It reminds me to schedule a doctor's appointment for this (I must have grown used to the…

I have been 40 since august and I'm still alive and able to take care of myself. whew! :)

I started over eating in middle school. Teenage depression and self-loathing with parents who worked was a perfect recipe for after school pig-outs. I'd eat a whole box of mac & cheese plus chips and other snacks while cooking it. Then I'd have to eat a full dinner with family so my mom 'wouldn't know' I was food crazy all…

All things in moderation. When I want mac n cheese or lasagne I am glad can grab one of those to target that comfort food craving in relatively safe way! For me they are a nice break from soup/salad lunches but I try not to eat more than two per week.

I have been getting dark spots (hate to say it but yes, age spots) so I started using Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer and it does diminish the appearance of acne scars a bit. I have no idea how it works - i just notice my skin looks more even (hence the name of the product!). Over the summer i wasn't using it…
