  • Way to go!
  • I used to have very greasy hair. I've only been keto for about 3 months, but in that time my hair is SO much less greasy. I can go an entire week without washing instead of every other day. I haven't changed hair products or anything else, except my way of eating.
  • Nice site, Was glad to see mine was given an A rating. I feel vindicated with the research I did before I switched brands 3 months ago! lol
  • My very overweight 16 year old nephew heard me telling his mom about my success and how I've chosen to eat a few weeks after I started this WOE. He asked me all about it and if it was hard, if I thought he could do it. I told him what I did know and told him how my body was affected so far. He chose for himself to eat…
  • I've been doing this WOE for only about 3 months. It only took about 1.5 months for my hunger to go away, but I still ate 2 meals and a snack. It's just been the last 3 weeks where I am seriously not EVER hungry. I mean really really not hungry. I've even gone almost 24 hours between meals a couple times. I'm trying to be…
  • I watch carbs and calories. I was thinking of just minding carbs, since I am now NEVER hungry. I typically fast for 16 to 18 hours just because I don't think of food. Well, I find I'm still needing to watch calories but now for a different reason. I'm finding it harder to meet my calorie goal since I don't think of food…
  • I love peppers too and was also shocked the first time I logged them. I still eat them, love their taste too much not to. lol I just make them fit. When I first started this WOE, I thought I'd stay under 20 total carbs. Nope not gonna happen, I LOVE veggies way too much. I stay under 30 total now and it seems to work.
  • Oh, this does sound really good! I have some cod too (it's the frozen fillet variety, if that works). I might have to try this. :)
  • Grats on your loss so far, that is a great loss! I understand the lurker bit, I was a lurker on the main boards for a couple years, hardly ever posted. I joined this board a few months ago and I do post a lot more, it's just a comfortable and friendly space! ^_^ Feel free to ask questions, I've always gotten helpful…
  • When I make eggs, I usually make 3. Mostly scrambled or omelettes. Egg salad I also use 3 eggs now that I don't put it on bread. Hard boiled or in a salad, I usually use 2. I don't eat eggs daily though. I'd rather have a stir-fry most days. lol
  • I'm losing a bit faster with LCHF. Not a whole lot faster, but it is the other positive changes that I'm seeing that make this WOE so much better for me then just calories counting.
  • My fitbit is pretty accurate with the calories it gives me. 10K steps is about 400ish extra calories, where 18K(what I typically get) is 650 to 800 extra calories. That all depends on how much of the steps is active minutes. Now I don't get many active minutes usually, but when I do, I can get almost 1000 extra calories…
  • That BLT looks good! Not sure why I've never thought of it, I eat lunch meat/salami between 2 slices of cheese all the time.
  • Grats on the lost, that is impressive! I've lost a moose's antlers (42lbs).
  • In the beginning I ate a lot of cheese. Aged swiss slices, shredded parmesan, 4 cheese mix, string cheese, and baby bels. I logged it all and didn't worry how much I ate if it all fit at the end of the day. I lost 4lbs. a week. I eat so much less cheese now, mostly just string cheese and the others occasionally. Not for…
  • I started with no exercise, it's what I pretty much intended to do, I just never had energy, I was so tired all the time. After a few weeks in, I had more energy so started just pacing around at work. About a week of that, it just wasn't enough, so I started going for short walks. In under 2 months time, I went from about…
  • I used ketosticks at first, though I've since read they are not the most reliable. I don't measure much now, but I have SO many of the others keto indicators and am losing weight at a great pace I don't worry to much. I believe I am in ketosis as I keep my total carb under 30 grams a day. As for how long it took me, I…

  • I went very strong for almost a month, then it started to slow down. Of course just after the 4 week mark, I had tons of new energy so started exercising again (was sedentary) which I know a change in routine can make you hold extra water. Now after about 3 weeks of exercising it looks like it might be picking up again. I…
  • Congrats on reaching your goal! All those sound like good rewards.
  • BPB - Bullet Proof Bullion 1 tbs coconut oil, 1 tbs butter, bullion of choice. Blend it all up (don't stir, it has to be blended to taste right). You get your fats and much needed sodium and it keeps you full for HOURS! If new to coconut oil, I'd start with less, it sometimes goes through people...
  • That sounds very good, gonna have to try it!
  • I don't know about a GF grill, but my nephew has a panini maker. I think they are similar? He cooks steak, pork, bacon, sausage, chicken, hot dogs, and I think hes done some vegetables on it. He uses it ALL the time. He's 16 so he doesn't like to use the oven. I've watched him do bacon and steaks before, all he does is lay…
  • I've been trying new recipes with my sister and nephews. So far everything that has been meat/cheese my sister and youngest nephew have eaten and liked(they are not low carb eaters). My sister does tend to make herself and her youngest a starchy side in addition to what I make. Doesn't bother me, it means more vegetables…
  • I add coconut oil and butter to a glass of bullion. It gives me my fat and some salt, both macros that I tend to be low on. It keeps me full for hours! But like the poster above said, make sure you blend it, don't just stir. I did the stir thing the first time and it was aweful. I read on these boards to blend it, figured…
  • That's a lot of weight lost, you got this!
  • I do 30 total, but I do have fiber listed in the tracker. The few times I've gone over 30, I look at my fiber and it has always put me under 30 if I was to subtract the fiber, so I don't worry.

  • I also looked at wal-mart for sodium tabs, their website says they sell them... I've also looked at a supplement store in my area. I ended up having to buy a bottle from Amazon and they help me. Besides pickles and salami, I don't really care for heavily salted foods, so the salt tabs really help. I also drink vegetable…
  • The only issue I had in the beginning was pee'ing ALL the time, I mean like 3 or 4 times an hour. I had no cravings (thought about cereal once). It was about 2ish weeks into keto level carb eating that I started to get my first ever leg cramp. It woke me up, but I got up ate 2 pickles, drank a few swallows of the pickle…
  • I really like that saying!
