  • Have you looked up Healthywager? You can choose how much you want to lose and how long it will take you. They also have smaller wagers with 6% weightloss in 3 months or team wagers(never done a team challenge. They also have walking challenges.
  • My fitbit calorie adjustment is quite accurate and has been for several years. I'm set to sedentary and I need to hit around 8200 steps to not get a negative adjustment. Time of activity matters to the adjustment for me. When I'm at work (graveyard shift) I need more steps then on my days off where I'm awake during the…
  • I look up restaurant deserts quite often (I am always curious about what I USED to eat) and most are around 750 to 1100 calories per. This is usually chain restaurants, so maybe a diner would be different?
  • I do 5:2, but my 2 fast days are total fasts. Water, tea, broth only. I don't eat the 500 calories most do for 5:2. I was doing 18/20 hours of fasting already, so figured I'd push it. I'm completely fine till about 22 hours in, then I tend to watch the clock. lol I fast from 5pm to 5am 2 non-consecutive days, this works…
  • If I get get hungry, I make a large glass(2 servings so 16oz.) of beef or vegetable broth and drink that and then wait 15 minutes. Most times, I don't want anything else to eat after that, I am satisfied.
  • Nice article, was informative and easy to read.
  • I may have to try some. I went searching for it last weekend and found it at QFC, but it was over $6 a pint, so I bought arctic zero instead ($3 a pint). Arctic zero is also low carb, but it didn't taste good at all. I gave it to my nephew...

  • So much this! I bought trail mix for my movie last weekend (kids had candy...) I intended to eat half the bag, but ended up eating all of it. Thankfully it was only a 2 serving size bag, or I'd of been way over carbs... If you can stick to a serving or 2 it's not bad at all nutrition wise.
  • Just wanted to point out that Olive Garden isn't a bad choice. My sister LOVES pasta, so we go there often. She is actually the one that googled and found out that you can order ANY of their pasta dishes without the noodles, it comes over broccoli instead. Now, yes you should be mindful of the type of sauce, but most are…
  • Welcome! This is a very friendly and helpful place. I'm also keto, and have no hunger issues. I stay to under 30 total carbs a day(tried to stay under 20, couldn't manage it). My nephew is 50 to 60 carbs a day and he has minor hunger issues but he also hasn't cut out fake sweeteners either, so it could be that very easily.
  • Not sure if they have them near you, but Torrid is a clothes store for larger woman. They have great styles and not too bad pricing, especially if you browse their awesome clearance that changes ALL the time! They seem pretty well made too.
  • My hair actually got less greasy eating LCHF. I stay to under 30 total carbs a day and drink lots of water(mostly as tea). Greasy hair was a problem for me, so the unexpected reversal was a great surprise!
  • I wish more restaurants had menus like Red Robin. Their menu is one where you can customize your meal. Take off what you want, add what you want, and it will recalculate the nutrition information. Probably the most accurate way if eating out, since you can't weigh what you order.
  • I can't say how long in the fridge they last, but all those meats freeze well and re-heat nicely. (steak can dry out sometimes when re-heated) I have found most veggies will re-heat ok from frozen(watch how much liquid you freeze with them). One freezer meal that didn't turn out well was zoodles with the sauce already over…
  • The keto calculator gave me way more calories than MFP as well. I've been following MFP calories mainly because it syncs with my fitbit, so tells me how much exercise calories to eat back and I don't have to do math everyday to figure it out... lol
  • I tried to do 20 total carbs, hardly ever could stay under. But then, I LOVE vegetables. I can never stay with 1 serving of them. My stir-frys also tend to be full of a lot of variety, which means more carbs. I hover between 24 and 29 carbs on most days. I'm also a huge tea drinker, and several of my herbal or green tea…
  • I do 30 total carbs a day. If I do happen to go over 30, I look back at my diary and see where the extra carbs came from. So far, the very few times(except 1 time) I've been over 30 total was always from extra vegetables I ate that day. So I did net those days! hahaha
  • I bought a bag of this last weekend at the local co-op. I really didn't care for it. I gave it to the nephew. lol Now there are 2 cheese( just real cheese and seasonings) products sold at Costco that are pretty tasty. Now this sounds amazing! I'm going to try it, I have everything for it, if macadamia nuts work for the nut…
  • I lose weight pretty easily, it's the keeping it off part I can't seem to get. Lost over 80 lbs. 2 years ago, but gained 60 back. :( Anyways, I was actually looking up ways to lower sugar when some post I read mentioned LCHF as a way to get rid of joint pain, poor sleep, low energy, and brain fogginess. I started reading…
  • I used to eat carrots with hummus all the time. Now if they come in a vegetable medly or shredded on my salad, I eat them, but haven't been eating extras. I now eat celery with cream cheese if I want a snack with "crunch".

  • Thank you, I wasn't too worried, until everyone said you'd have hungrier days and I just don't have them. I had over 100 lbs. to lose before I started(around 90 lbs. now). So yes, I have a lot to lose still. I was drinking bullion with coconut oil and butter, but that was making me not want food even more... And yes, I use…
  • Very nice. Looks like a very enjoyable place to walk and relax.
  • I was averaging 3 to 4 lbs. a week the first few weeks, then I added exercise and the loss went to 2 lbs. a week. I am now losing 2 to 4 lbs. a week (still exercising). Usually 4 lbs, but the times I lose 2 lbs, I tend to have a bigger tape measurement loss(strange, I know). I've lost almost 50 lbs. in almost 4 months.…
  • bell peppers and wilted greens I love bell peppers now, before I only ate them if they were hidden in something and I picked them out if I saw them. I love greens, always have, but I couldn't stand them cooked. Now, I make them and they taste wonderful. And just a strange fact; I tend to like my stir-frys a bit on the…
  • I looked over the menu online. I'll most likely have the grilled salmon with broccoli or spinach. I could have a steak, but I eat those quite often, and eat salmon a lot less often. There are a few salads that aren't so bad(if croutons and such are removed). Most of their dressings are actually low carb(but high calorie).…
  • This is such a wonderful way to look at life, so positive!
  • Uhg, this is disheartening. My best friend's son is graduating next weekend and he picked cheesecake factory as his afterwards meal. I've already been informed, that my sister and I are expected to go and help celebrate. Can't say no, we've been friends over 25 years, before she even thought of kids... I expect I will…
  • I eat pickles and take sodium tablets. I used to drink bullion, but kinda been forgetting last few weeks to do so. I should start that back up as I've been having mild leg cramps lately. When I do get a cramp, I take a few sips of pickle juice and it clears it right up, with-in minutes.
