• I tried them - 800 mg twice a day for the last week - I have not lost AN OUNCE - despite exercising every day and staying within my calories (I would normally have lost 1.5 pounds in this last week). I have not noticed ANY boost in energy whatsoever (which is actually what I was hoping for). So, $50 from Sangsters - down…
• OH LOVE THAT - I will be using that one on MY kids!!!!!

• I totally agree - I have "friends" that I have added because I thought we were of the same general age/goals and hoped for some interaction, and almost never hear a peep from anyone, although I try to comment on goals and questions whenever I can or if I feel I have something to add...
• I'm with you - I wanted to lose 20 and am stuck at 10...... and have to work HARD to do every pound. I think being in my 40's isn't helping much, and I wonder if a lack of sleep is a problem as well - I usually only get about 6 hours a night.
• I seriously do NOT believe that losing weight quickly is unhealthy - fast, slow, whatever - as long as it comes off. I work in the medical field and have never once heard a doctor tell someone to lose their weight "nice and slow" - they do surgeries to make it come off FAST all the time. It's all a matter of what the…
• Daystarters turkey bacon is GOOD - other brands... ick...
• Read this recent post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/595473-why-the-scale-goes-up-with-a-new-workout-program-must-read - it explains a lot about why you are likely not losing YET - it will come - give it some more time!!
• I am 100% certain your doctor will advise against this.
• There should be NO pain - they put drops in your eyes to freeze them, and sedatives are really not necessary. Just lay back and enjoy the quick little light show! Your eyes water a lot right after - I just went to bed right away, woke up in the middle of the night feeling just fine.
• I had it done in 2000 at the age of 31 - eyes weren't too terribly bad, but had to wear contacts or glasses all the time. After, eyes were better than 20/20, could see the clock the next morning! It took 20 minutes for both eyes. Back to work in a few days, shopping the next day (with sunglasses). Best thing I EVER DID.…
• I have been there - I married him! Then divorced him - cut your losses - better now than later. A year and a half is not long - it just seems long at your age. People like that do not change and it will only continue to get worse - often emotional abuse turns to physical abuse later - one is as bad as the other - the…
• SKINNY COW ice cream bars!!!! :)
• I changed my diary settings to show sodium, and I was REALLY surprised at how much some foods had that I had eaten!! I do have the same problem, but I'm trying one thing at a time - stick to calories - lower fat and cholesterol - more protein - LESS SODIUM :) I haven't seen any movement in my scale lately either (even up a…
• I was really wondering the same thing when I saw how much sugar was added when I added one to my diary.... :( Everything in moderation I guess....
• I did not mean to imply that you or your source was not an expert, only that most of us here do not claim to be experts (more sharing things we have read or experienced), although there are some that have expertise in their fields of fitness or nutrition, and we are all happy to read what you (and they) have to say, and DO…
• I have the same question - I know that a person needs to lose the body fat, first and foremost, but also that more muscle means better metabolism. It almost seems like a catch 22 situation - I guess it's more about patience?? You have to work at BOTH to see results, and not to expect anything overnight....
• In order to lose "belly fat", a person needs to lose overall body fat - you can't just take fat off of one part of your body. It's simple - calories in vs. calories out, and calories burned. (sounds simple, at least).... :)
• I agree - we are all here for the same reason(s) and don't claim to be experts (most of us) and are willing to read and take into consideration everyone's opinions and advice, which may or may not be correct or necessarily helpful for everyone. We don't HAVE to believe every post we read (i.e. "starvation mode"), but we…
• With some cheeses I noticed they have markings on the outside of the package in cups ( like crisco shortening has) so I used that as a guide, but bought a scale today so weighing things will be much easier and more accurate - only $16.
• I found the blackberry ap and then saw it would synchronize with the site - I'm hooked ever since!
• I agree with the aquacize - but definitely see your doctor and your physiotherapist for suggestions of safe exercises for you.
• I take glucosamine chondroitin with MSM every day, two on an empty stomach, and have never had a problem either....
• Did you sign a rental contract? Often they have a stipulation about not disturbing other tenants/neighbors - if so, you may want to call your Rentalsman's office and see what they say....
• I found this link that might be helpful to you - it calculates your BMR - basic metabolic rate - so you know how many calories you require to maintain your weight. MFP actually deducts 500 calories from that number automatically to create a deficit for you. http://nutritiondata.self.com/tools/calories-burned
• Thanks for this! Definitely going to try!
• Pics such as yours are what keep the rest of us inspired to keep at it and keep working!! Fabulous!!
• My son was diagnosed with ODD at age 5 (he is now 18). I feel your pain! He was not, however diagnosed with ADHD. The constant conflict in my home was absolutely exhausting as well - particularly meal times, in my case. The only REAL good piece of advice that I ever received was to NOT ACKNOWLEDGE them whatsoever when they…
• You body actually needs days like this sometimes to remind itself that it's not starving or being deprived. Splurge days can help to rev up weight loss as long as they don't become a habit.
How often do you feel that a "splurge day" is acceptable, not a "habit", but often enough to "keep your budy guessing"... ??
• I kind of agree, no one in their right mind would eat this kind of food if they were actually serious about their health let alone weight loss. I'm out!
Key word "right mind" - If this is an actual real person's story, which I'm skeptical, this person definitely needs professional help way above and beyond MFP.…
