He is lovely! Congratulations!

I am always so excited when this topic comes up - I love sharing my favorites and adding new books to my "to read" list! 1. A Thousand Splendid Suns 2. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry/Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy 3. And the Mountains Echoed 4. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 5. The Color Purple 6. Angela's…

Ah, that's right, the fun puzzle of keeping weight on the old folks without them getting goofy! And that's what I figured about the saddle- I am normally pretty paranoid about my horses, so sometimes I just need to check to ensure my paranoia is justified. :) It has been beautiful here and I've been on the rescue pony…

Question for you all - I want a western saddle for trail riding and I found this one on Craigslist for a good price. It looked great until I asked her to send a picture of the underside. Can the torn leather be replaced? Or is it not even worth it? Thanks a bunch! (I don't know much about western saddles, obviously.)
-
Could it be a pain reaction? You are right, most old ponies aren't going to waste energy on those shenanigans unless they are avoiding.
-
I fell off the horse today- and I sincerely wish I meant that figuratively. I see a hot bath and some Tylenol in my near future!
-
I hope you were able to stay safe. We missed the ice, but it has not stopped raining for over a week. The pastures and the ponies are a muddy mess!

Good for you for adopting a senior! Old folks are the best, and they have such a hard time finding homes. I had NO intention of getting another horse, but a friend of my barn owner dropped off this sweet boy to her because he knows she's a sucker, and then she quickly presented him to me because she knows I'm a sucker. He…

I haven't posted in ages, so it was great to see that you all are still riding regularly! I've acquired a new rescue, so this winter will be spent getting him conditioned and simply trusting humans and he will hopefully be ready for spring riding.

Mucking is an awesome workout! It's been too hot to do any sort of riding with my 29 year old, but I had a saddleseat lesson today. Hunt seat tomorrow!
-
I rode the past three days - moseying on my senior boy Saturday, hunt seat lesson yesterday, and a saddle seat lesson today because why not?
-
I haven't posted in quite some time, but I don't think I've missed a week yet! My sweet senior boy has been feeling pretty good, so I have even been able to hop in him and meander around the farm a bit. Happy trails, everyone!
-
I rode yesterday and spent most of the weekend at the barn with my senior boy. It has been just gorgeous around here.
-
I rode yesterday evening. Happy trails, everyone!
-
I trail rode for an hour today. Sunny and 75 degrees - what a perfect way to spend a spring day!

My gelding is 29 and is living the life of luxury as a spoiled retiree. So I ride my friend's western pleasure horses primarily. I have also recently begun taking hunt seat lessons. My goal in life is to spend as much time with horses as I possibly can, so I really don't care what I do with them, as long as I get to be…

I'm in! On my way to the barn right now.

Love an Appy! This is my boy. He's 29 and just perfect.

I walk my three each day, but poor Noah is the only one with whom I can run. Running with a beagle is practically animal abuse. "Why would you want to run when you can STOP AND SMELL ALL THE THINGS?"
-
Don't forget about your local shelter dogs, either! If you want to burn a few extra calories, head to the nearest shelter to walk some exceptionally appreciative pups. They are always grateful to have some extra time out of their pens. I typically go on Saturdays. Feel good about making a difference and getting some…

Love this challenge! One of my three at the river.

I typically never post on these forums, but since most of the replies have berated the poster for his calorie goals, I thought I'd throw in my two cents. Sure, 1200 calories seems low. My husband recently began a new job, and he spends far more time at a desk, whereas he used to spend 75% of his day on his feet. When he…

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Lol! And I'm just as guilty as the next person when it comes to making a typing mistake!
-
Do you like horses at all? Riding is a great workout - I log tons of exercise calories each week just from riding. Not to mention the calories burned from the upkeep.

Most of these are very funny, however, some of you need to get over yourselves! Come on, no one owes you a present!

I just got back from a beach vacation and was able to catch up on a lot of reading! Riding the Bus with My Sister - Rachel Simon Thinking in Pictures - Temple Grandin To Kill a Mockingbird (I've read it at least a dozen times, but it is still fabulous every time!) - Harper Lee The first three Harry Potters - again!

I'm 5'2", and while I've never weighed over 120, gaining 5 pounds means moving up a size. I got down to about 110 last year before my wedding, but I lost ALL of my curves, which I wasn't happy with. For me, the 115 mark is ideal, but it all depends on your body type. As long as you can drop the weight in a healthy manner,…

Sounds great ladies! However, I realized that I have NO idea how to actually structure a challenge! Any suggestions?
