Ooh I've made something like that before actually, they're pretty good. Thanks :)

My boyfriend lives about 110 miles away, which is about a 2 and a half hour drive. Or 5 if you get stuck in traffic =/ There are some reasons why it sucks - we can't just spend an evening together, can't just pop over if one of us have had a bad day, miss all the during the week stuff etc. but, I wouldn't change it for the…

Thanks for the replies so far. I was going to say I get protein powder actually. An egg sandwich could be good, hadn't thought of that actually. I'll have a look at scrambling eggs in the microwave too, though don't want to stick out the staff room! I'm not sure if they do the Special K protein bars over here in the UK but…

Thanks for the replies. Especially Jen as I noticed that was your first forum post, thanks for taking the time to reply! I went to the gym a little while ago and did 10 minutes on the bike then moved on to C25K, walking at 4.5-5km ph and then running at 7.5-8km ph and doing the last two runs on 10km just to see if I could…

You burn them because it gives you a healthier lifestyle. Because it tones your body. Because it can help to reduce blood pressure, heart rate etc. Because it increases your metabolism (more muscle, more burn). Because you'll look more toned rather than skinny fat. You eat them back to give your body enough fuel. Because…

I do Kettleworx and moved up to 8kg (17.6lbs) which was fine, except for a couple of the moves and so I got a 5kg (11lbs) one to use for those. Personally, that's what I'd recommend doing, using a higher weight for what you can and then a lighter weight for the more difficult bits. If you can't do that, I'd say stick with…

I've had a quick peek (I'm about to head out) and it looks good, I'll have a better look later. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Firstly, exercise calories. I do understand why it's important to eat them back. I'm currently on 1350 calories a day and will always eat them back. I don't like to go below 1200 a day, whether that's just in food or net so I've got used to eating them back. I just wasn't sure if it was…

If you've burned 1500 through exercise and only eaten 1500 then you're not eating enough. If you keep doing that, not only will you burn out but you'll end up doing yourself harm and will lose far more muscle than fat. Up your calories or do less exercise.

That's not true, at all. Look at the packaging, some give calories for 'as per instructions' (meaning when cooked the way they recommend) and some give it as raw weight. There's usually options on here for both, I always go with raw weight because it's easier to weigh things before they get cooked. If I cook say, spaghetti…

Glad so many of you like the recipe! I actually had it two nights in a row I liked it so much! To the person that asked about the skin, yes that's without the skin. I don't like having the skin anyway.

Add in high calorie foods that are still healthy such as nuts, cheese, fruit juice, peanut butter etc. That's what I usually do and it helps. It brings your fat levels up but it's good fats and as long as it's not like 1000 calories of nuts a day, it's still a decent fat amount for the day. Oops just seen the post above…

Need to know more before we can help! Where do you want it? What kind of things do you like? What kind of styles? Do you want it to represent anything specific?

One day won't put your body into starvation mode so no, you're not definitely in starvation mode. If you keep going under 1200 (ish, there is no magic number, it's not a case of 1200 is safe but 1199 isn't) a day then yes, you will be sending your body into starvation mode. If today and the low calories was a one off then…

That's exactly why I'm doing it, I don't want to be skinny fat!

It's not a very expensive or big brand one, that's why I wasn't sure. Though it often estimates similar to MFP for things like say walking, or cycling at a certain speed. I weigh or measure everything (I've got a set of measuring cups and I've learned how much certain measurements of things weigh so that I don't have to…

You need to stress the fact that he's suicidal, not just missing.

THIS! Seriously people, think before you open your damn mouth. I really hope that you get news soon and that he's safe and well. Hopefully this whole situation might urge him to get some help. I know how hard it is to go through all of this with someone you care about.

I've got that Kelly Holmes one, it's £12.50 in Tesco at the moment. I'd definitely recommend it, it's good for working up the weights though I'm now up to 7kg and having to consider buying more. Or Aldi sell 2.5kg, 5kg and 7.5kg iron cast ones if you prefer that kind.

Do you have your rest day before your weigh in? I would, I can gain 3lbs the next morning after exercise! So having it before WI helps me get rid of that. I'm really not a BMI person, I don't think it's all that important. My goal gives me a BMI of 27, technically overweight but for me I think that's about right.…

How is it an unhealthy attitude to have? Why is it so ridiculous and unhealthy to be wanting to see my weight come down? It's not like I'm trying to lose just 10lbs, I have a fair bit to lose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to see both numbers coming down. It's also not undermining my progess, I know that…

I know that it's not just about weight loss, didn't I say in my first post that "I might just be stuck with them as they are, which as long as I'm losing inches too is fine". As I said, losing inches is great but if I can lose some lbs too, then I want to which isn't a ridiculous thing to want, at all. I know that it'll…

It does make you lose less weight. I'm obviously losing fat because I'm losing inches and my BF% is coming down, which implies that I'm losing fat and gaining muscle, which would bring my weight loss (rather than fat loss) down a bit. My diary used to be open but after I made a thread once about calorie counting with a low…

I currently do 45% carbs, 25% fat and 30% protein. I work out my percentages after each day as I won't always eat every calorie. Carbs usually range 40-45%, fat 20-30% and protein 30-35%. I know that I need a rest day before I weigh in, otherwise I see a gain or STS on the scales because of the water retention. I'm a lot…

Ooh some great recipes

Ooh I'll give that a try, thanks!

Ohhh I'm such an idiot!! Just realised that I forgot to put the egg whites in haha Serves me right for trying to multitask while I was doing them. That will hopefully fix the dryness but if anyone else has any ways to improve them nutritionally or that just tastes better, let me know anyway :) It worked out for the two…

Well then if you can see that's the case, why don't you make the effort to talk to them? And invite her into the class?
