  • Hi, I haven't been part of any of this before so I don't know any of you but I'm in, if that's OK? What's 20/20?
  • It's really difficult to gauge right isn't it? I haven't tracked until now but haven't been gaining, I just know that I'm probably not getting the nutrients I need and that might be why I'm feeling tired. Did your doctor just tell you that they don't want you gaining more than 15lb or was it after you asked? Mine hasn't…
  • Oh no! That's a placenta previa isn't it? It's low? I don't know whether mine is low or not at the moment, I'll find out more details about it at my scan on Tuesday. I'm hoping that it's not just because then I know that it causes issues because, like you said, you need a c-section (which I really, really don't want to…
  • I'm in the UK, I'm not sure that we have that here. I've never seen it anyway, never even heard of it before you mentioned it! They can tell off blood work? Wow! I didn't know that. We did a private scan at the weekend and found out we're having a little girl, we've got our NHS scan on Tuesday so will confirm then. I…
  • What's cream of wheat? Today's my first day of tracking and my iron intake is shocking, I'm starting to think that's why I've been struggling so much with my energy levels. Aww bless, your little one's reaction is so cute. You want 6 kids? You must be crazy! I don't blame you for being glad about the buying stuff, it's…
  • I'm 20 weeks and haven't really felt anything so far, nothing that I know for sure is the baby anyway. I saw the midwife on Monday though and it turns out I have an anterior placenta so it's sitting at the front, which will cushion movements a lot. So I probably won't feel much for another 4-6 weeks.
  • I've struggled with setting my goals a bit so have just done what I think might be best. I haven't been using MFP for quite a while and since finding out that I was pregnant (2 days after my wedding!) I haven't really done any form of diet or tracking food, I've just been trying to eat healthily and have lost 10lbs so far.…
  • Hi everyone :) I'm due on the 24th April with our first, a little girl we found out this week. I haven't been using MFP for quite a while and since finding out that I was pregnant (2 days after my wedding!) I haven't really done any form of diet or tracking food, I've just been trying to eat healthily and have lost 10lbs…
  • Thanks everyone for the replies, I really appreciate them. If I calorie count I can lose a steady 3lb a so a week at this weight but I'm now at the point where I honestly don't care what the scales say, it's all about the inches. After all it's the inches that make me feel better, it's the inches that means clothes feet…
  • No one mentioned doing a diet with a name on it... Not that there's anything wrong with it, there are plenty of diets with names that are all about healthy eating and retraining the way you eat. So I disagree, completely. Well there's nothing wrong with sugar but there's something wrong with having too much of it. I don't…
  • Thanks for all the ideas. I was planning on making some houmous actually but they didn't have any chick peas in the supermarket grr!! Anyone got a good recipe?
  • Well maybe you should think about buying bacon with less fat in it because I don't get nearly as much as that from mine and quite frankly, the thought of that much being in the pan while it's cooking would put me right off!
  • To be honest, it really isn't going to make that much of a difference so I just log it as it is. Yes it might lose some fat but it's not really that much is it? Too much hassle to worry otherwise and as I can't measure how much fat it's lost, I'd rather overestimate than underestimate.
  • What one do you have snakes? Mine was pretty close to MFP too so I trusted it.
  • I've trained to teach primary, so 5 to 11 year olds. I'm currently teaching Year 2, which is 6-7 year olds so hard work but lots of fun! I finish in a few months so now hunting for a job to start in September!
  • Signed up again and then got 2 emails at once a couple of hours later, guess it was just being slow!
  • Hey everyone, I'm Caroline, I live in the UK. I'm 25 and a trainee teacher so life is pretty busy but I'm trying to find what time I can to do as much as I can, it makes a huge difference! I'm calorie counting, I let myself have about 1680 a day as that's my goal BMR and thought I'd give sticking to that a go. I'm nowhere…
  • I see it as increasing muscle and reducing BF% so that you look firmer, tighter, less jiggly as the other person put it!
  • I'm starting at a new school at the end of the month for my teaching placement and I KNOW that if I leave it until the end of the day to workout, I'll be too tired and have too much to do. My gym is just a few minutes from the school, I chose it for that very reason, so I plan to get there 3 times a week for when it opens…
  • I've just signed up for that challenge too, it could be good. Not really sure what it's like though, I've never done it before. So I can't really answer any of your questions but wanted to say good luck!
  • I've not ever seen them let alone worn them but I don't like the look or idea of them at all! I've had socks like that before (bits for each toe) and it just feels weird and uncomfortable. I would think it wouldn't be as good support either? Could be wrong though!
  • Thanks for posting. I'd not heard of it before but just signed up for it!
  • I've heard the same thing about running as well but I've only just started the Couch to 5k programme so can't comment on the results yet!
  • Personally I stick with the resistance machines purely because they're easier - there's more of them and less demand whereas the freeweights and space to use them is ALWAYS hogged by men! Personally, they work pretty well for me, maybe not as well as if I did free weights but they still do a good job if that's an easier…
  • This. I'm doing it and I'm running more and faster not only than I ever have before but that I ever thought I could!
  • Do it in the morning, before you have that busy day and find reasons not to do it, that's what I do.
  • I've been lucky enough to visit quite a few places, my top ones being either South Africa or Thailand but I'd love to do South America. Trek through the Amazon, do the Indes trail, the whole shebang. So much to see and do there, would be amazing.
  • castlemadeofs - Is as bad at getting faces in MFP pics/thumbnails as I am!
  • Like beer and looks pretty smooth!
  • Ahh that's why lots of your stuff is Fiona's nutritional! I've done that myself too, got a few Caroline's Kitchen stuff and will probably start doing that more
