Lol - I can see myself in so many of these posts! The older I get, the curlier / frizzier it gets. I don't wash it daily. I will sometime just condition it and rinse. I use coconut oil on the ends. I use a flat iron (a good one, but uses heat) and then a BIG curling iron and it sorta, kinda works, depending on the weather.…

Normally I like to workout 5 days / week and rest 2. Lately I have been working out 2 days / week and doing F-ALL the other 5! Really need to get back on track. Not cool.

@caramelgyrlk - LOVE the new profile picture! @maxipino - great job on the squats! Wowzer. got a nice walk in with my bff, who is up visiting and did a quick hike this morning. Saw a big black bear as I was putting my garbage bin out this afternoon. Noticed the neighbours can across the road and sure enough, the bear was…

Yes...I had never seen this, so asked my botanist friend. This is what he wrote: "New cones with wax exudate as a metabolite in young trees who grow really quickly! Makes a nice tea with cellular oxidation that helps long distance runners of which I know you like to run!"

Did a nice 14k hike on Saturday followed by a more difficult 5k hike on Sunday. Some beautiful scenery along the way.

Did a nice 14km hike Saturday afternoon. It was a new to me trail. So much more to explore! Never saw pine cones grow this way. It was the only little tree that had them as well. Apparently, they grow like this on young, fast growing trees. Makes a great tea and provides great energy for endurance sports. Who knew?

Such great pictures! I keep forgetting to post mine. Here a few from a hike I did a few weeks ago. One of the many waterfalls along the trail. Stopping for a water massage. :) Another beauty. A view from above. Not sure why they are posting sideways, but you get the jist.

@Beeps2011 - hope you are not too sore today. It's amazing what those old folks can do. I remember going to an ashram in my 20s and I was probably one of the youngest there. Most were "old". I thought I would kick *kitten* in the yoga sessions - NOT!! They all showed me up - every single time. lol. It was thundering and…

It was another warm one yesterday, so got on my bike. I am embarrassed to say it was my first time on the bike this year! Me, who LOVES her bike and cycling just sat in the saddle for the first time yesterday. What?! It was a wonderful ride. Rode 14 miles in 70 minutes. Thought I was gonna die on those hills. :)

Another run last night. Same route as the day before, but ran it almost 5 minutes faster. It was 12 degrees cooler. Amazing what weather can do. :)

Hi all, finally feel like my life is my own for a while. All my summer time obligations have been fulfilled! Yay. So, headed out for a short run yesterday. It was HOT. Well, considering I haven't done any warm weather running yet this year, 26C was tough. Only walked a few steps, a few times, and finished. It was slow, but…

Ran yesterday. I've been so darn busy, that it seems like I am getting 1 run in / week. Am off again tomorrow for a work conference. Travelling for work is becoming a PITA. Upon my return, I am babysitting my grandkids for the weekend as their parents attend an out of town wedding. That will keep me running. lol.

I think the new plan is PERFECT! I agree, as we age, we do have to change things up as our bodies just can't heal / recover like it used to. Having said that, we can still be in great shape, by doing the right things. :)

@Beeps2011 & @alteredsteve175 - Thank you. Got my first golf game in last night. It was a beautiful day - warm and sunny. My golf game was....meh. Some good shots, other, not so good. But it was great to be out there again.

Welcome back @caramelgyrlk ! You continue to inspire! It has been one hellova month. When my son was diagnosed with his brain tumor (May 29th), the doctors, CT and MRI reports indicated it was probably a malignant tumor. In fact his surgeon told him he was 95% certain it "was not benign". Needless to say, my son had 3…

Oh yeah and it sucks royally when it happens! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery!

Have been keeping very busy, trying to stay on top of all my house chores (inside and out), work stuff, race planning and family reunion planning. All happening this month. In there, we are going to be away for a week, while my son has surgery. If you are the praying type, I ask that you keep my son in your prayers. He was…

Finally got out to run yesterday. It felt so good. :) We received some upsetting news about a family member's health. Waiting for further info. Am trying to keep myself occupied, otherwise my mind wanders to some very dark places....and I just CAN"T let that happen. Running helps.

AMAZING!! Congratulations on your lifestyle transformation!
