All I can tell you is that I have been LCHF since May of this year. Dropped over 60 pounds so far. Cholesterol is 108. Triglycerides are 54. Blood pressure perfect. Have enjoyed going of all diabetes meds. Feel great. Hardly any craving issues. But I also bike ALOT.....and I mean ALOT. Hope that helps answer some…

I agree that increasing the fat, not the carbs is the key. When you seem to be in a prolonged stall (4 weeks or more) then try going on a fat fast. It ain't fun, but it does work. I can lose as much as 10 pounds in just five days of fat fasting. When I go back to my normal low carb high fat eating plan, I increase the…

Have the same problem in my big rig. Uneven floors. Go to the hardware store and have them cut you a 2x2 foot piece of 1 inch plywood. Ask them to check the scrap bin for some wood that will work. But, make sure it is 1 inch thick.

Uh, you tried, but you got it all wrong. T2 Diabetic, I have just gone off my Byetta (10mcg x 2 daily) and have reduced my Metformin from 2000mg daily to 1000mg daily. That said, lets cover what Byetta REALLY does. Byetta, also known as "lizard spit" (as it comes from an enzyme from the gila monster) is designed to slow…

Wow, all this posting and your ticker shows you have lost, what, 1 pound in how many years since you signed up? Is this correct? You certainly have a lot of nothing to say. I am wondering if you were trying to help, or just be ridiculous. I am not very computer savvy, so my son had to explain to me what a "troll" was. I…

I am a biker, NOW.....but when I first got on the bike, I made it 0.8 miles and got off the bike and begged my husband to go and get the car to pick me up and bring me back home. If course, he would not and I walked part of the way back and rode part of the way back. The next time I went out, I made it three miles. I was…

Okay, so when I tromp up and down the stairs a couple 30 times, carrying laundry and vacuum cleaners and stuff....and I get down on my hands and knees and deep scrub the floors upstairs and down....and when I get out a ladder and clean the ceiling fans, double vacuum the carpets, sweep both huge porches, do the laundry,…

I have a friend that logs mowing on a riding mower. If it is a category in the exercise database, then someone must have figured out that it actually burns calories. Everything, including laying in bed and breathing burns calories. You have to decide for yourself, if you feel that it burned more calories than what your…

If you want to try something heavenly and low low carb...try this 1 bag Pasto Zero (cook to instructions) 2 ounces Full Fat Cream Cheese 2 TBSP Grated Parmesan/Asiago Cheese 2 TBSP Butter 2 TBSP Crumbled Feta Cheese 1 Can Spinach (drained solids to equal 1 cup) Add all ingredients to the cooked pasta and microwave for…

I have friends engaged in all kinds of lifestyles....from Low Carb High Fat to Low Fat High Carb......it is all really a preference of the types of foods you prefer to eat and whether there are any health considerations (for example, I am T2 Diabetic). I think, though, when it really comes right down to the brass…

Yup!! This poster is right. Leave your calories there and ramp up the exercise. Hit it dead on.....and it has taken me months to learn this lesson.....LOL.....but I finally did and just about to drop down into another "tens" category......

The best thing to do when you are hungry....IS EAT!! Find the highest bulk items for the lowest food calories and go to town... Here is what I eat when I don't have many calories, but tummy wants to eat 4 cups raw baby spinach 1/4 cup diced strawberries 1/4 cup blueberries 1 TBSP grated parmesan cheese 1/2 cucumber sliced…

I'm a long distance biker, so when hunger hits, I go for the fats.....and I was fat, but getting skinny(ier). Try including more fat in your diet on your hard work out days. Fat satiates and it is not the evil villain everyone talked about in the past. Fat sticks with you to make you feel full.

Yup! I'm one of those crazies who took to biking like a fish in water. Have completed 3 centuries(+) days in the last five weeks. Generally do about 15 to 20 miles on a normal day, around our loads (truck driver and carry my Trek Domane 3.0 with me on the trailer). Working up to our big trip in March 2016, when hubby and I…

Even with MS, you can still work out......I went on a pack trip in the lower Tetons on horseback, with a lady with such severe MS, they had to hand load her and unload her off the horse. She still could do a lot of things on her own. So, my first response would be to ask you if you aren't making up unnecessary excuses? You…

Have been enjoying my Low Carb High Fat diet. Lost 55 pounds in just over 4 months. No longer need my diabetes injections or oral medications (Yeah!!). Lab work is most awesome it has ever been (HDL up, LDL down, Triglycerides perfect). Blood pressure has dropped to low normal range.......AND I WAS PUT ON THIS DIET BY AN…

You have to understand that whether you are low carb, low fat, high this, or high that......or anywhere in between, the only thing that matters is CALORES IN - VS -. CALORIES OUT. I don't think that low carb is failing you at all. If you look through your diary, you will see that you are over your calorie macros almost…

My first thought, is that eight days does not a stall make.....and I know this, because I am an every day scale watcher who gets very upset when that darn thing does not move down. But, as time has marched on, I have learned that "scale" stalls, not "fat" stalls, as far more common than us weight losers want to see. I know…

I know what you are saying, and I agree with you. I have gone from a 24W-26W to a normal size 16-18 in just 4 months. It has been hard work. I have seen the scale drop 52 pounds in exactly 4 months. My husband can feel my ribs when I lay down (for the first time since our marriage). I can move better. I look at my legs and…

http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/snacks/r/lowcarbsesamecrackers.htm Make these and enjoy some cheese on them. These can be thrown in a bag and taken along (just don't crush them)

Stick a popsicle stick through the top (tinfoil) of your favorite yogurt and freeze it. Keep about a dozen of these in the freezer for a go to. You can buy popsicle sticks in the hobby section of Wal Marts. YUMM...yogurt pops

start with a broth base, throw in a little heavy cream to make it a cream soup, toss in some veggies, any new or left over protein, and some pasta noodles and sit down comfy on the couch in your jammies and enjoy a nutritious hot bowl of soup. Make it in the microwave and it only takes about 10 minutes.

A NICE BIG SCHWINN BIKE. Started at 278 pounds on a bike. Now down 50 pounds in little over 100 days. On my way for a 100 mile bike ride tomorrow and will burn about 6600 calories. Have two blown knees, torn meniscus, ACL and can ride just fine. BIKE, BIKE, BIKE...burns more calories than walking, elliptical, and most…

Thank you for your post. It gives us something to look forward to. Great Job.

Might I suggest your getting a good bike and riding to and from work. I ride about 20 miles per day, sometimes more. That way, when you get home, you are done your exercise for the day.

Here is something that might help.....as a child I was literally teased for being so thin. I was called "tooth pick" and told if I turned sideways, I would disappear. Now, I am 49 years old and have been up and down on the old diet seesaw. each an every time I go up (gain weight) it take considerable effort more, each…

Okay....so this is gonna be your post for one year from now. ""So, everyone who read how disgustingly awful my significant other was, here is where I am today. I decided to seek my revenge by making myself into a better person and dropping this weight. I am now within range of my goal weight and have done some other life…

Hated riding a bike when I was a kid. Even used to leave for school half an hour earlier because I hated riding to school. About a year ago, I started with a Schwinn from Target and fell in love with riding as an adult. Now, I own a high end Trek and it travels with me all over the country (I am a truck driver). I get to…

I follow the Low Carb High Fat lifestyle. I have been able to stop all my diabetes injections and have gone off all oral meds for diabetes. In the first time, for years and years, all I take now are supplements. What a life change for me. I keep my carbs as close to 20 net as I can. I don't worry much about gross carbs, as…

I am a sweet hound in the mornings....so, if I don't just have coffee, heavy cream, and stevia with English Toffee fragrance.....I love to have blueberry ricotta crepes. The crepes are so thin that you use very little flour (I make mine very "eggy") they are very low carb. I add ricotta cheese, a little splenda, and mashed…
