Looking for new friends. Many of my old friends just didn't stick with it. Looking for friends that are like me. I am 55 years old. I am T2 Diabetic 11 years now. Have gone off all diabetes injections and pills (except maintenance Metformin) and controlling with diet/exercise. I am currently on Ketogenic diet. I've lost…

You can have your bread (and ice cream) and eat it too. Even pasta. Just a different kind.

FAT BOMBS!!

Dymatize extended release protein powders...especially the vanilla....21 grams protein, 4 grams carbs (sugar), 130 calories. I mix it with coconut milk (high fat) to minimize the sugar/insulin response. When testing, I go up about 5 points in blood glucose.....which is so negligible that it is not worth mentioning. Also,…

I usually only get about 1500 miles out of a chain. Sounds like maybe the chain is stretched or the gear sprockets worn, if it is happening often.

All of you GO!! Great attitudes and great goals. I am 9 months in and down 77 pounds so far. Taking the last 37 off slowly.....you can do this!! Good Luck

Lindora is low carb, low fat, moderate protein.....as posted on their website....so....I'm confused....if you are not eating carbs, and you are not eating fat, and you are only eating moderate protein......what are you eating?? The only thing that remains, is air.????? Please explain.

Well, if you ate what you should not have, at the wedding, then I would guess that a lot of your weight gain is from water. When we eat carbs, our body holds water molecules with those carbs, as a way of utilizing them. So, fear not. Unless you ate 3500 x 4 = 14000 calories at that wedding, you did not truly gain 4 pounds.…

I also prefer coffee with coconut oil in the morning. I find I can go all the way until early evening before I am truly hungry, and then I remember to eat. But, I also enjoy these for breakfast: 4 ounces cream cheese 1 cup finely diced walnuts 1 TBSP unsweet cocoa powder (organic really makes the difference) Stevia powder…

For cookies, you can start with a "macaroon" style cookie recipe (unsweet shredded coconut, egg, sweetenener like erythritol) and then add some protein powder to those. I like to "layer" my cookie recipe sweeteners, so I use a mix of erythritol (0 glycemic effect) and stevia drops (English Toffee is my fav). You can also…

By flapjacks, I am assuming you mean pancakes. Yes, you can make pancakes out of coconut flour and/or almond flour. Basically use it just as you would regular flour in a recipe (except with coconut flour, you need just a little more liquid). You can also use this to make waffles in a waffle iron. I add just a little extra…

You can add me. T2 diabetic, was hypertensive. Have lost 78 pounds to date (9 months into new lifestyle). I am ketogenic and loving it. Still have 36 pounds to go. YOU CAN DO THIS!! But, don't think of this as a time to go on a "DIET". Think of this as a time to decide to change your "lifestyle". People often think about…

I am an extreme biker, doing 100+ miles in one day at times. Initially, I suffered muscle fatigue and burned out in keto. So, I did as I was told and consumed energy gels on my long rides. This caused drastic weight gain for me (12 pounds after one 118 mile ride and the weight stuck to me like glue). Since then, I have…

For me, the type of carb matters. Being insulin resistant (metabolic syndrome), I can not eat pure sugar carbs (cake, bread, candy, etc...) without an insulin spike...which of course could cause fat storage. If I eat slow carbs (high fiber foods), then I do not get the insulin spike and I don't seem to gain weight. So, for…

I am there with you and feel your pain. How about being told you have to buy 2 seats on an airplane, AFTER YOU ARE ON THE PLANE AND EVERYONE CAN HEAR, then you know it is time to do something. Couple that with losing your ability to do your job because you don't pass your Federally Mandated medical requirements. So, been…

I find that cooking chicken on the stove top gives me the perfect chance to get some curry or turmeric into my diet. Both of these spices are excessively good for you and taste great on chicken. I start by making the pan hot (with no oil in it), remove the pan from the burner and then put in one tablespoon of organic…

Hit a wall in weight loss. Had a Direct Calorimeter Test done. Seems I was working out hard and NOT eating enough. Raised calories from 1200 strict, to 1300 plus half my exercise calories back (so total, about 1600 to 1700 daily). Weight started dropping off. Also reduced work outs from 3 hours a day to 1 hour per day.…

More water, ALWAYS. More fiber, NO. More fat...YES, YES, YES!!

Add me please. LCHF for nine months now. Down 75 pounds. Carbs set at 20 net or below. Fat at 70% or higher. Protein under 90 grams per day. Do occasional fat fasts to break plateaus. Need some SERIOUS low carb friends. I log every day. Ride bike or SPIN for exercise. Occasionally hit the gym. Exercise 5 to 6 days per week.

Just had the same issue. 1000+ calorie deficits, working out like crazy, keeping calories at or near 1200. Not dropping a pound. Had a metabolic test done. Stopped working out twice a day (down to once, 60 to 70 minutes with weights), increased calories in to 1500 -1600 and the weight started dropping instantly.....and has…

I'm KETO, but looking to lose another 39 pounds. Down 74 since May 2014.

I'm KETO, but you can add me.

70 minutes of spin class today. Another class at 5:45 tomorrow morning.

pros is generally a symptom of insulin resistance, and so is the exhaustion you are talking about. Do you feel sluggish and tired after eating sugar, breads, or big meals? IAf yes, then Google and learn about the Ketogenic diet and try that. TONS of energy, great results. Try taking a bag of almonds to work to skip the…

It is winter. Go rake leaves and pick up sticks. If you don't have leaves, I am sure some neighbor does. What a way to do a good deed. Go rake their yard. Burns lots of calories and works those upper arms like you would not believe!!

This may be a thought......on days that you exercise, even though you think your appetite is suppressed, do you eat a few more calories over the course of the day? Then, on days you do not exercise, do you keep the calories lower than on exercise days. I find that I eat about 600 more calories on the days I really work…

You listen to your doctors? Wow, I did that once upon a day......turned out Low Fat made me fat and diabetic. Hmmm.....I don't listen to them much anymore, Enjoy your coffee......if that doesn't kill you they will just say something else will.

Okay....here is my two cents based on my own personal experience. Not a runner, but a long distance cycler. Today, I did a run that was just short of 60 miles. I burned over 3500 calories on that 5 hour trip. My macro is set to sedentary (so that on off days, I don't overeat). Therefore, for example, my calorie consumption…
