  • Thank you for bringing up this topic. As the imperfect daughter of a "fashion model" stick thin mother I can really see where a lot of my issues with food and body image come from. I think we need more diversity in shape, size, ethnicity, ect... for all of our "role models" and what we perceive as beauty.
  • Take a day off! You will feel better and your muscles need to recover. Go for a nice long walk if you feel you have to do something but that is it. 10 days in a row is too much! I know its difficult but your body will thank you.
  • Walk at a good pace (over 3.5) on an incline! It totally reshaped my huge butt and hips!
  • Just a fun tip. MGD Light's new formula only has 64 calories a beer and is fabulous! Have a great weekend everyone.
  • I am doing one on the 26th with two first timers, I took them on a practice run last night and they did awesome! Good luck too you, I am pretty confident you will make your time and then some!
  • Thanks for all the tips, my biggest regret is that I didn't take measurements when I started all this. I would advise all newbies to do it! I love this site, you guys are the best!
  • I lost 25lbs over two years ago and have struggled with that last 10 ever since. I quit smoking 6 months ago and it has become even more of a challenge. I am religious about my work-outs and eat very healthy 90% of the time. i am getting ready for a trip to Mexico so i dragged out the old summer clothes today and even…
  • Whenever I swear something off I end up binging when I finally allow myself to have it. I agree everything with moderation is ok or try to substitute low cal/low sugar treats just for the taste. Good luck, I know it is a struggle for me too.

  • I've been there my friend! I quit about 6 months ago, was active too, and am still up. My doctor told me that you burn 200 less calories a day when you don't smoke, so that on top of other unpleasantries i.e. bloating, constipation, and an increase in caloric consumption will get you there. I wish you all the best, and…
  • My husband bought me the Iron Girl Training DVD's for X-Mas and I just have to say they are awesome. There are three of them and they are laid out like this 1) Spinervals- 3 short (30 min) spinning videos ranging from beginning to advanced 2) Runervals- 3 short (30 min) treadmill running videos from beginning to advanced…
  • The best advice I ever got was to eat lean protein with every meal or snack, watch your carbs and refined sugar, drink a lot of water, and exercise. I have found that I now actually eat more than I did doing silly fast type diets and I have more energy. Good luck to you on your adventure!
  • I agree w/Zenmama bench dips rock! I do them every day. Tricep kickbacks with weights work too.
  • They are very good! My hubby is an ice cream addict so we are always trying new things. The chocolate is tasty, and the ice cream is very creamy.
  • Thanks for the tips! Yesterday just threw me for a loop, I had a lunch meeting and we had Mexican food. I was good ordered a black bean burrito and only ate about a quarter of it but I was so uncomfortable for the rest of the day I was angry. I am going to start carrying a lunch if I get laughed at bring it on!
  • I have a problem. This is going to sound strange but I like to cook and prepare my own food at home. I was brought up that dining out is a "treat" and something you do on occassion not part of your daily routine. I have a rather social job, one in which I do a lot of networking with various individuals, groups, committees,…
  • Whenever I have a race I make a point to eat pasta for dinner the evening before the event and a hearty bowl of oatmeal loaded with banana's, walnuts, and raisins race day. It gives me tons of energy. Good luck!!!
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal 1 tablespoon flax seed Oatmeal is the only thing that fills me up, I eat it every day.
  • It happened to me about a year ago I completely understand! Now I am into cycling too. You just never know what your body is capable until you give it a shot!
  • Include protein in all of your meals that will help! Try light cheeses, nuts, yogurt, chicken, canadian bacon, eggs, protein bars, lean proteins. This should help fill you up. Keep us posted, good luck!

  • Sometimes a little rest and relaxation is just what you need to jump start your metabolism. I find some of my best work outs come after I have indulged a bit.
  • I agree! I think I have a food hangover, from eating junk yesterday. I am going to Mexico in one month so hopefully that will put me in check!
  • I used to weigh myself every day and it made me crazy and often times it set the tone for my mood. I don't do it anymore, once a week is plenty! You are working so hard, you will see the results.
  • When pressed for time how do you decide what to do? I usually do cardio and weights 6 days a week, but lately my schedule is CRAZY. This morning I only had 45 minutes so I opted to focus on weights and strength training instead. Any ideas? I feel guilty if I don't do both.
  • Boca chili, YUM!
  • I love Beach Body videos; Great Abs, and six pack abs are my two favorites.
  • If I wasn't so shy I would stick my before out there, because I am a total pear and I feel your pain. I was able to really make a difference to my problem hip/love handle area by eating low fat, high protein, good carbs and walking daily for 45- 60 minutes on an incline. Walk at a good pace and incline is key. I swear by…
  • I think it would be ok to use for breakfast. They tend to be pretty nutritional and the protein will keep you going in the morning. I use a similar product that I add to my oatmeal and it keeps me very full and gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I only use it in the morning.
