A little too much sun. Apparently you have to re-apply sunscreen every few hours.... oops. :)

5 Pounds in 6 days sounds a lot like water loss. I wouldn't get on the scale more than once a week. Your body needs to adjust to your workout routine. You probably didn't gain a pound of muscle yet as that takes time. I would stick with your workout and see where you are in a few more week. 5 Pounds in 6 days is a lot of…

Just because it properly calculated the 5 lb weight doesn't mean it is still accurate over 100lbs. As it gets closer to 100lbs and over those slight discrepencies on the scale become larger discrepencies that you wouldn't notice at 5lbs. Good luck.

Cardio is really the best way to lose the fat. You can't "target" fatty areas to lose weight. You have to lose weight overall. What is positive is that themore you build your quads the more weight you will lose. These are the largest muscles in your body and the more muscle that is there, the more you will burn at rest and…

I am 30 years old. I have seriously trained two other times in my life. The first was in high school and college playing soccer almost full time. After that I let myself go and gained a lot of weight (I weighed about 257lbs). Then I was hired as a police officer and I trained for a year total (6 months before police…

Completely normal. If you continue to lift weights (and I always suggest people lift weights) the pain will subside. If you work out hard enough you will always feel a little sore, but the initial soreness that you are feeling will subside as long as you keep at it. good luck.

The article raises some good points. We are at crisis mode in the United States. The article clearly states that people with problems (medical, children etc....) would not be subject to this fine. Just to be Devil's advocate here.... has anyone noticed what people do with their welfare money.... not food stamps.... but…

I eat them back. I will in fact exercise harder so that I have more calories and can enjoy more food. If you do not eat them back then you will end up in starvation mode and you won't have enough energy to maintain consistent good exercise. My 2 cents.

I'm in. I pledge 100 all at once in less than 2 minutes. :) And this is me almost 15 years ago.

And sodium..... it's the worst. If you are exercising don't worry about the protein as much.
-
I watch calories, however it is important that the calories you are eating are good calories. Sodium is a killer. I also make sure to eat back my workout calories so that my body will process fat faster.

I know I am a guy and most posters on this thread are ladies. But I figured the math would probably be the same. I am about half way through my journey of losing belly fat. I fell out of shape a few years back and let myself go as you will see in first picture. The last picture is today. So far I have lost many inches. I…

Woah. Ok. I have experienced this same problem in the past. I have talked with the doctors about it and after 23 years of playing soccer I have found what works best for me. First you need to make sure that you are just overexercising your knee and that something isn't truly damaged. After that this is what I do. If I go…

Alcohol. Creates water retention and slows everything down.

Sodium for sure. I have adjusted recently to eating foods with less sodium. This has easily been the toughest part of my diet. I have a lot of carbs there, but if read my excercise I am running 5 miles on a regular basis and sometimes more. I also swim, weight lift, and play sports. So I think the carbs are justified.…

Yes. Run. In my experience when my stomach is upset about something with nervousness, the best way to get it back to normal is to excercise. Not only will it somewhat take your mind off of the subject at hand, but it will make good use of nervous energy. Your stomach isn't upset because of a medical condition. It's all in…

I would agree mostly with what everyone has said here. Water is very important and should be repeated. I also think that any excercise done should be above and beyond daily tasks. You will find it a huge help to just walk an hour a day. Another program that people rave about is the couch to 5k program. Might be something…

You might see inches disappearing before you actually see weight loss. I work out 7 days a week and watch my calories every day. My scale hasn't moved much either the last week or so. But I know it will. Measurements are important too.. Mine have turned to the better even though my scale isn't moving much. Hang in there.…

This would be my 2 cents. Keep lifting, but start to pyramid your weight on the bench. This means you should do 3 sets at different weights. I like to start light and work my way up. 1st set lightest, 2nd heavier, 3rd Heaviest. The other way you could do it is by simply reversing it. If you can do 105 at 5 reps try doing…

Your body will adjust in it's own way. I am not a runner, but I do run... if that makes sense. 6 weeks ago I started running again for the first time in almost a decade. I couldn't go very far and I was sore all the time. I ran through the soreness (but not injuries) and found that I wasn't getting so sore anymore. Now I…

This is something I have agonized over for years. Not all protein shakes are the same. The one I use now and I find the most helpful is Syntha-6. I get it at vitamin world. What you need to consider is the different types of protein in the shake. A lot of "one" protein shakes are meant to be consumed right after a workout…

No. Not at night. But if you know you are going to work out then feel free to eat a little more earlier on in the day.
-
They were definitely for that day. In fact, it is also very important that you "eat back" any calories that you burn working out. Otherwise your body might enter a starvation mode. Just stay at or close to the calories required total for that day including the excercise. Good luck.

I love your story. Congratulations. I have become sooo addicted to this website. It really works. It really motivates. Keep it up.

Ugggg. I use this more than facebook now....

Thank you the advice. I have passed all medical exams for the Army. My body is just built more for muscle than for being skinny. My frame supports a good amount of muscle with wide shoulders and large chest. Mostly I need to keep burning off the fat around my belly, but even still I have passed the tape test for the…
