30 minutes is all I can fit in on a workday which is 5 days a week. I log every minute of that and eat back the majority of my exercise cals and I am perfectly fine with that. Wonder where she heard this nonsense? Keep up the great work :)

I have a Polar FT7 and I love it. I eat most of my exercise calories back because you should. Usually leave 50-100 left just so there is room for error. My HRM is accurate as far as I'm concerned!! I'm glad I finally invested in one best $100 I spent on myself :)

Just Dance 2 and wii sports resort works well for me on my weekend days. Today I burned 460 calories dancing for 80 minutes :)

From what I understand that is a pretty great HRM plus its a Polar. I would trust the HRM but if you want to be sure you could leave a little more of a buffer with eating your exercise calories than usual. I have a Polar FT7 but have never gotten that huge of a difference. But my HRM doesn't do VO2 max. :)

Could you possibly not be eating enough food? Make sure you track both exercise and eating. I don't think that your weight gain is due to the quitting smoking. Hang in there. Excellent job quitting!!!
