This for me is also the best way to kick start my body again. I will eat more than normal, watch the scale, and as soon as it goes up 2 pounds for a couple days I will start back into eating lower calories and exercising more. I have read (of course I cant remember where) that this is a good way to get over a plateau. If…

I have a New Balance one that I got at Costco...it seems pretty durable to me and it was only $40!

That is hilarious!

My suggestion to start is to eat as you normally would and track it for a couple of days. This is a good way to see where you were at and then how to make adjustments over time instead of all at once. Once you get your eating right (1 or 2 weeks) start throwing in exercise. There is no need to do an immediate over haul of…

I think it would make a difference if people had the calories blarring them in the face when they ordered. I think this is also a main reason why McDonalds is running the ads stating that their egg mcmuffin is only 300 calories. This is also why healthy choice restaraunts state the amount of calories in their food. It will…

I understand that feeling. My best friend is overweight and keeps telling me how its ridiculous I eat so healthy. I have tried to get her to sign up here or at least order slightly healthier food, but to no avail. I have even offered to drive to her house (45 minutes away) to get her to go for a walk but she doesnt want to…

I WISH I could forbid chips and crackers, but my sister lives with me and has hyperthyroidism. She gets to eat about 3,000 calories a day and not gain an ounce!

Welcome, this is a great site! Feel free to add me if you would like. I am always looking for more motivation as well!

I also claim to be an athelete, even though I havent been a true athlete in 6 years! I like to run first and then I will do the 30DS. Sometimes when I am feeling it, I will do 2 in a row, or do additional exercises afterwards.

I totally understand. Feel free to add me if you would like! :)

Soccer tournament when I was a kid...115 in Eastern Washington. 2 games per day, and I played the whole 90 minutes without fail! We trained by wearing our jogging suites during practice for 2 weeks in 80 degree weather. To be young again! I also used to enjoy jogging during Georgia summer heat at 2pm.

You can do that, well within reason. A lot of people on here purposely zig zag calories to keep their bodies guessing. I know it works for me (well before vacation!).

YES YES YES....If you are running properly you are engaging your core.

Welcome! I have PCOS as well. I find that I feel much better if I limit my carb intake. I am less bloated and have more energy. However, I must say I am totally in love with carbs so this is definitly hard. It does get better as time goes on though. I am currently on Metformin and I need to up my dose as I do not feel as…

Thank you for your post! As a fellow PCOSer I understand the feeling of being out of control. It is always refreshing to hear about someone that has beat it! I TOTALLY agree about only eating wild and hormone free animals. I have started buying Buffalo and Cattle that was raised with no hormones and fed grass. I can tell a…

I was the same way. I started zig zagging my calories and now I am dropping faster than I should be with my calorie intake. That seemed to really help me out.

Don't feel bad. I gained 6 pounds during my first 2 weeks and now I am losing at least 1lb per week even though I am eating so I only lose a 1/2 lb every week.

I use 3, 5, and 8 pound weights depending on the exercise. She does a lot of work on shoulders, so I tend to use the 3 pounders for anything that deals with shoulders.

I am SOOO glad there aren't any Krispy Kreme's here in Colorado (and if there are I dont know about them and dont want to know!)! I just can't help stopping if I see that HOT light!

Pictures help me. I actually bought a swimsuit and have it hanging on my wall in my living room within viewing from my couch! This is great motivation for me. It also doesn't hurt that my dog looks at me with sad eyes if I sit down when I come home from work instead of running with her. Her face is enough motivation for me…

I use it as my weight training. I try to go for a good run before it and then I rotate the different levels around since they seem to work different muscle groups. I will modify some of the moves if I feel that I need to be working a different muscle group.

I totally understand where you are coming from! I have PCOS as well, and it SUCKS that we have to work 5 times harder than a normal person to lose weight. I DONT eat back all of my exercise calories because I do not lose weight that way. I believe that the insulin resistance makes it so we can't eat as many calories as…

I own 2 dogs, and I have had this issue in my neighborhood. Not that they get the chance to bite me. I have a male Akita and he is a dominant dog, he does not let another dog get near me, so my problem is that they come towards him. Kuma (my akita) is ALWAYS on a leash when we are out. I have had to go have conversations…

That is a GREAT feeling. If I am feeling particularly sore one day, I do cardio the next. This can be anything from walking to running. The other thing I will do if I am sore is to stretch.

I actually quite smoking and started dieting at the same time (turned 30 and needed a life change). I have been using the electronic cigarette (www.premiumecigarette.com). If you go the e cig route, make sure you buy from a reputable manufacturer as some are made in China and have been found to contain nasty (formaldahyde…
