Well, so far I'm up to about 60 dives - mostly warm, blue water - Carribean (St. Croix, Turks & Caicos) - we're going to Caymans in August on the Cayman Aggressor :glasses: I'm trying to get under 200 (from 265 in Feb.) by August - don't know if I'll make it. Also started running training - for the Army 10 Mile in DC in…

Do you guys take vitamin supplements or just rely on nutrition from food?
-
LOL. I made sure to type the "ol" when I typed it ... :noway:
-
Yeah, I'm limiting calories, increasing exercise. I'm not looking for a miracle, just a dietary supplement. And, I'm ordering supplements and vitamins from Amazon, not Dr. Oz.

Congratulations! I had my own NSV like that last week - went to almost "non-diabetic" blood glucose numbers, and almost normal Cholesterol. :)

I've lost 33 lbs since 3/8. 25 of it on MFP. I'm also in weight watchers - but I don't use it - I am trying to eat better (me), eat less (MFP), and exercise (me & MFP).

Hi Melsinct. I'm @ ~225 and bouncing. I'm still in "obsese" territory - with a GW of 150. My question is, when does the "final stretch" start? When out of the "over weight" category? I'm still shooting for 1100 cal/day, but have been bouncing for a week.

Carbs = blood sugar. More carbs, more blood sugar. However, more fiber in the food, less carbs converted into sugar. Therefore, if you/she eats bread or pasta, try to make it as whole grain as possible with as much fiber as possible. When I was diagnosed, the nutritionist told me that if the fiber grams are >5, then I…

I just figure, basically, that different colors have different phytonutrients and antioxidants, in addition to the regular minerals/vitamins/carbs/proteins.

Buy more fruit, mix up colors. For instance, I like to eat a whole grapefruit, 100g of blueberries, 100g of strawberries, and an Orange. Or sub out a fruit and add 1 serving Bear naked granola. Colors - yellow, orange, red, blue. :) I like sweet grapefruit (used to do with sugar) - so I add 1 small spoon (comes with the…

Well Golfpro, I'm rolling out of bed @ 430-0500. Tough to get up earlier. I'm running @ home instead.

Thanks all. I'm "nice" to her when we meet ... and I won anyway with my Wife of almost 10 years who I wish I would have married the first time. So, what are y'all looking forward to?
-
Swimming - freestyle with little to no kicking?
-
No.
-
Thanks everyone.
-
LOL. I thought it was 3.6? But, heck, someone else laid out the course, I ran to the start/finish - that's why I posted my own results.
-
LOL. Already signed up for Army 10 Mile in DC in October. And my running friend wants me to do a 1/2 Marathon in January in Disney - she said, "what's another 3 miles?" :D
-
Aw crap - we deleted that one to make room on the DVR.
-
Congrats!
-
Yeah, I only record the number in the AM, same time. I step on/off 3 times - make sure I get the same 3 numbers.
-
Well, it really does put it in perspective though. You know if you could see the weight being added to your body, as you eat the 1/2 dozen doughnuts ... maybe it would be an incentive to reach for the apple instead.

I record daily, in the morning, after shedding 1/4 lb .... and track it so I can get a running trend on a graph. My official weigh in is Tuesday night at Weight Watcher meeting - it tends to be +6lb's heavier than the morning weigh in with the clothes on, no shoes.
-
Next morning -6lbs - back to 225. I did 1/2 fast yesterday, and walked/ran 6 miles. Thanks everyone.
-
Thanks everyone - you guys are great for writing with your support! :D Today is my rest day - I'm going to my first NASCAR race - at the Charlotte Motor Speedway/Lowes speedway. :noway: Lived in Charlotte for 11 years, my first NASCAR thing. Tomorrow, doing my first official 5K event - it'll be a combination of walk & run.
-
Yep - he had already taken me off the Diabetes & High Cholesterol med's - because diet was causing blood sugar to be too low.
-
Qarol, how often do you have cheat days? Thanks, PC
