I just got a Polar FT4 so I'm not an expert at it, but I do find it to be useful. I'm currently using it as a watch without the chest strap on. I have the Flex and for the most part I like it. This is my second one because the original one I bought all of a sudden stopped working, but the customer service were very helpful and replaced it immediately without a fuss. I like tracking what I do throughout the day. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
