Generic or not, Splenda makes me bloat up like the Goodyear blimp. If I ingest it makes me feel like I could deflate like a balloon if I got popped with a pin. Hate that stuff! If I do use artficial sweeteners, I try to stick with aspartame as it doesn't cause me an side effects.

You can do HIIT with just about anything: running, cycling, elliptical, jump rope, etc. It is basically just alternating periods of high intensity spurts with periods of recovery.

I just got one about 2 weeks ago and also love mine. There are some Facebook groups for FitBit that are fairly active, too. I found some FitBit friends from that group to add to my "friends" list on the FitBit website.

Turbo Fire is pretty much all cardio. You can do a hybrid of it with another program (like p90x or ChaLean Extreme) but there is only one "weight" workout and it's done with resistance band. There is a food diary on FitBit website but it is not as robust or user friendly as MFP. I enter all my food here and then transfer that one daily total to FitBit. I agree that it is helpful to have the moves down in TJ first. You can pick up even just a few of the DVDs on eBay or other places. TJ 5 Rockin' Workouts is one DVD that is good to start with. Are you sure he ordered the Deluxe version? because I think that is 5 additional discs. The regular version comes with 5 empty slots to put those discs into if you purchase deluxe. If so, I would contact beachbody, their customer service is pretty responsive (assuming that's where he bought it).

I used to have a pair of MBTs, all I got was a huge blister on the back of my heel. I ended up selling them on ebay. I also think these shoes are a bunch of hooey, and I am shocked that some of you would run in them. These shoes are so NOT meant for running! Personally I think it is all the hormones and additives in our foods. Added to the "we are busier" reason (i.e. more processed foods) and voila, we have many overweight people as a result.
