it's not a pre-requsite to 'LIKE' anything..sports or otherwise in the world we live in.. I'm really not sure why you have a problem with wanting to be accepted just because you don't ' like' sports. truth be told, i have more sympathy for Jets fans than i do for you...

welcome to the 21st century, OP. Running has come a long way since Philipadese.

winner.

gotta love these first world problems. try Goldman sachs., Galxo Smithkleine ..no need for a third.

turn off all other apps running in the background and dim the brightness a little to squeeze more out of your battery..but GPS, Bluetooth etc being ON all the time will really empty it out super quick

I LOVE running late at night, but never do because I often run through very unsavoury neighbourhoods and industrial estates. There's something so awesome about being out there in the small hours of night...but not recommended in the UK, it's just far, far too dangerous.

if you have access to a swimming pool, i can throughly recommend aqua walking or aqua running

I'm very active on Nike+. my email is dipak49ers@hotmail.com...please feel free to add me.

I do...I give them to a running club in Nairobi, Kenya where the runners cant afford shoes or gear> I give them running clothing too.

I got this same pain 3 weeks before my marathon. osteopath ordered immediate rest and refrain from exercise, and luckily it went away... it could be the IT band, or it could be weak glutes/quads...get lunging and squatting once you recover!

I jogged 26.2 miles not long ago and toying with the idea of jogging 50 miles..thats what's UP with this jogging thing..and I started the same as you a year ago..barely able to put one foot in front of the other. follow c25k and get yourself to jog for 5km/3.1 miles. after that, it's up to you how far you want to '' jog''…

whats "good" at running, really? Kiprotich is a Kenyan long distance runner who can run a marathon in a few seconds over 2 hours.... Elizabeth ran the Toronto marathon in 8 hours... Elizabeth was still on her feet when Kiprotich was in the departure lounge at the airport waiting for his flight back to Nairobi a good runner…

I only carry if I'm running >13 miles..then i use a hydration belt, not a backpack and never ever a waterbottle in my hand. the thought of having to run with a bottle makes me cringe..even those hand hold-able water bottles. I first started running, i'd carry a water bottle in my hand and hated it so much I ended up…

nike has running clubs that meet regularly after 6:00 pm at their oxford circus and covent garden stores...be safe to run with a group and you can go right after work :-)
-
just walk outside..it's liberating...and it's what I did before I took up running. But if you must use a treadmill please DONT: Cling to the damn thing for dear life on a silly incline...I used to see so many people doing this when I was a gym member and holding on to the guard rails whilst setting such a steep incline…

^^ This ^^. After the event, ramp up your base weekly mileage and aim for a spring marathon..you will be ready.
-
Meh. It's ok for people who have never ran to have any CLUE to know the difference between short distances and long distances.
-
If I saw a pitbull running towards my nieces, I'd have done exactly the same thing.
-
I wish it was the law where I lived. In the UK we have the most selfish dog owners on the planet...dogs are never ever leashed in a public place, and I couldn't give a sundried dingleberry if fido " only wants to play".
-
My longest distance ever run is 26.2 miles @ 10'45 min/mile pace...but that was an organised marathon. my longest training run was 20 miles, I ran that at 10'58 min/mile. I only WISH i could run 6 miles as quickly as you can!
-
Huge congratulations on finishing c25k and running your first 5k. It still remains my most significant achievement as a runner..I hope you continue with your running and strive to run even longer distances and ' get the bug' :-)

Mixed bean salad dressed with lemon juice and fresh cilantro..all natural, high in protein , no cooking required and no dead animals. add pasta if you like :-)

you dont need a gym..everything you need is all around you.

Thats an awesome goal. I dropped 6 stone in going from obese to marathon in a year. I'd do a triathlon but I can't swim. You want this bad enough, you'll get it....feel to friend me.

learn how to do crunches

I live in the UK, new friends are always welcome :-)
-
I stretch AFTER, too..or occasionally during if it's a 'long run' and I need to.

Love this! English is my fourth language and I celebrate that I can speak, read and write it better than the vast majority of those for whom it is a native language.

830 days. one day you will be, my child.
