Hi Everyone! I'm 29 year old and I've been on MFP on and off since 2011. I successfully lost 20 lbs a few years ago, but now i'm pretty much right back where i started. I currently weigh 154 lbs and want to get down to 130 lbs, and by goal is to do this be Christmas.

great work! and thanks for the inspiration! I'm the same height at you, I started out at the same weight as you, and have your current weight as my goal, so great to see the results one can achieve!

Thank you! Will have to give this a go..

I say do it! I just did day 9 on level 1, and although I can't say I can see a difference, I can feel that I have more muscles and I feel much stronger. After reading that heaps of people tend to put on some weight in the beginning of the 30DS, or even not lose much over the whole course of the program I decided to not…

sounds good! will have to try that :)

I'm totally with you! It's difficult! I'm doing the 30 day shred for the month of March, and I have read so many places that people that haven't been particularly active before doing it tend to gain some weight in the beginning, and then it often drops of toward the end. So, I've decided to just not weigh myself until the…

how tall are you, or what is your BMI? although bmi isn't completely accurate, and you have to take into account your frame, its a good guide. maybe you can refer to your bmi number when talking to your mom about your weight? if you're in the healthy weight range, surely your mom should understand that there's nothing…

I'm the same height as you, and weighed 70 kg when i started. I started with 1200 calories too. I found it very difficult unless i exercised to be able to eat more. I also found that i was losing VERY slowly. Granted i'm not THAT overweight so I can't expect to lose at same rate as someone with way more to lose. However, I…

sounds good :)

I think it's horrendous. I've spent time in America, and know what you're talking about. However, I grew up in Norway where the only thing that was offered in terms of food to buy was milk (not flavoured and sugary, pure milk), and fruit. Obviously everyone brought their lunch, so the parents chose what exactly the kids…

I remember the days when I had to pretty much guess my calories burnt. I don't have an answer for you, but I'm gonna say the obvious: You should invest in a HRM, that way you'll be able to accurately track your calories no matter what activity you're doing :) sounds like a good routine though!

I think everyone gets to this point at some time or other. It becomes rutine, and it becomes boring. But yeah, as you said - new recipes, new exercises! Go out and get a new cook book with tasty, healthy recipes in it. If you're anything like me, I'm a little intimated by some of the machines and classes at the gym, but go…

I'm 5'4" and currently weigh 139.8 lbs (woohoo, just got below 140 today haha), my goal weight being around 125. I'm a US size 6 I think (according to the conversion charts, as I'm not from the US and have other sizes where I am).

I say take a week off. I had leg and foot pain after taking on too much running too soon, and although it's not the same, it really helped to take some time off and do other exercises instead. I don't know your background, but a lot of people on here go from nothing to A LOT of exercise very suddenly and it's bound to put…

I'm glad you're getting help. Realising that you have a problem and actually seeking help is the best thing you can do. Thinking depression will just go away by itself is risky. I had a brother with depression who didn't seek help, so although I haven't been there myself, I kind of know what you're going through. good luck…

I'm 5'4" and I started at 155 lbs, and my goal is 125 lbs. Guess it just depends on your frame and where and how you carry the extra fat/weight, and also where you feel comfortable.

oh i know how you feel. I was eyeballing it in the beginning, and man was I wrong!! I bought an electronic scale, and since then i've really started losing weight. I've always just eaten too much, when usually half that would have been enough!

i also got started on 1200 calories, with no significant weightloss weekly. I then changed my goal to losing 1 lb a week, which gave m the allowance of 1350. I try to stay at 1300 calories daily. anyways, i'm not losing huge amounts (i am in a "healthy" weight range, so i can't expect to), but it's definitely going better…
