bump. great information!

My orientation started yesterday and I am soooo worried about the same thing! Add me if you like! Hopefully we can keep each other motivated even through all the craziness!

I'm a diet coke and coffee lover as well. But they do sell decaf of both :)
-
bump! I'm going to look into it :)

Bump! Would love to hear the replies to this!

this sounds like great advice! thanks everyone for your help. It's pretty easy to go far with a 12 min mile so during the training (thanks to hal higdon), I've increased my speeds for the shorter runs to make it more of a challenge (9-10min). But even at 10 min. miles, the half would take over 2 hours... but I'll keep…

Yeah that Jillian is crazy! I had started it a while back and use it whenever I need to do strength training. I've only gotten to level 2 tho because I thought I wanted to die afterwards lol. It definitely burns high calories within 20 minutes and I've lost quite a bit while doing it, but I also do a lot of extra cardio as…

Added! Love to encourage and be encouraged!

Definitely feel free to add me. I've been on for the summer and still have a little under 40 pounds to go. I like to think I can be motivational lol.

I have been on here for 60 days as of today. I know it's not that long, but this is how I am able to hold myself accountable. I've always been overweight and this is what works to help me lose it. One day, when I've reached my weight, I will probably still be using this to hold myself accountable (even though I will…

Drinking cold water helps me :)

bump! great information! thanks!

I've always done running with 30DS. Right now I'm working on training for a half marathon, but strength training is still very important, and there's a lot of it in 30DS (although I only do 30DS like 3x/week). I say go for it!

What an accomplishment! I love your goal! You can do it!

I'm not a doctor or anything of course, but from the research I have done about protein, I wouldn't worry about staying in the range that MFP allots. I too need to decrease my sugar intake, but I keep up on the protein.

Just remember to keep in mind WHY you're doing all of this. Those challenges can always be a little motivating, but I feel like they keep me from focusing on the real reason why I'm doing it all. Sometimes I need a refresher :)

Well there's only a little over 20 weeks til the end of the year. Which means you would have to lose close to 3 pounds each week, which not only is hard, but from what I've heard, not very healthy. I would personally aim for something a little smaller like 20-30 pounds by the end of the year, but that's just me. Hope that…

I always used the general dancing option lol. I feel like I burn a lot of calories, but not as much as doing other activities (jogging, elliptical, etc), so I think it's about right (although not as accurate as having a heart rate monitor of course)

There are days when it is really bad!! And I would love to know why that is lol
-
bump. would love to know as well!
-
Add me if you like :) I'm 5'2 and just a bit below 170. Trying to lose about 40-45 more pounds.
-
Brooks were also my style of footware. Hope that helps!
-
I recently learned of running shoe stores and they will fit you and have you try on different brands to see which ones fit you the best. You pay a little more, but you gain lots of information and get great shoes!
-
could always use another support buddy! I'm 5'2 and have a little more weight to lose before I'm at 155lbs, but my final goal is also 125. feel free to add me if you'd like!

I think it's a net of negative 7000 calories each week (that includes the calories you lose everyday doing nothing as well). One pound is 3500 calories I believe.

Bump. I am interested to see if anyone knows this as well as I always use what the treadmill tells me after entering my weight (which is a lot less than the activities on MFP, so I assumed, more accurate)

Unless you've told them it bothers you, they probably are oblivious. But just as they need to respect the fact that you are trying to lose weight, you'll have to remember that they are not and while they may not be making good decisions, you still are. You can't control others' actions, just your own.
