I would encourage you to begin to workout. I have no children so I can't relate to all of THAT, but certainly everyone needs to work out for HEALTH not for looks although it helps in that dept too. I say that because you mentioned you were "one of those people who....doesn't have to workout" well we ALL have to exercise.…

Congrats on your loss thus far. I know its hard to hear, but the honest truth is you need a different style suit bottom and a larger size. That suit is not baggy. Sorry. You've gotten excellent suggestions on lifting while you continue to lose, and I've no doubt youll have great success since you've cone this far. You have…

Ohhh. I didn't know what "contrave" was. Thank you for enlightening me. I'm taking the drug free approach though.

Spinach and egg white mini omelette, fage Greek yogurt with honey.

5'2...I used to want to be tall....but now I realize being shorter makes me feel more....like a girl next to a guy. :) (no offense taller ladies) BUT taller women can carry off certain styles better and look rather graceful and willowy.

The minute someone says "I am SURE I dont really eat xxxx cals/day" I am very SURE they do (if not more)

If you are happy with it, then that's great. You've lost 28 lbs. That's respectable, esp if you didn't have much to lose. It would be too slow for me, Ive lost 42 in 5.5 months and now I'm 15 away from goal, but my goals may be different from yours. At 5'2 and starting at 172, I wanted to lose a 1.5-2 a week. A quarter…

I'm staying at a deficit all through the holidays. No gaining or maintaining for me. I've never gained during holidays, always lost weight. Since I'm vegetarian I make a lot of dishes to bring and hence, no excuses.
-
It depends on how close you are to your healthy weight. The hard and fast rule is no more than 1-2 pounds per week. As you get closer to goal weight it will slow down.
-
Agreed, I have run 6 half marathons 7 full. It really doesn't matter what exercise you are doing your body eventually adapts. I workout and run 40+ miles a week. If I dropped down to 25 milrs/week my weight would creep up. 25 miles is a light week( for me) now. Increase your miles (slowly so as not to get injured) or add…

Well...alright then. I'm curious how long you've been vegetarian, though. I have been for 18 years(I'm 36) and the thought of eating meat repulses me. I suppose if you just became vegetarian last week that could explain it though. Anyways, humorous story all the same.

No. I applaud you trying to give up smoking, but using e-cigs is still smoking--you are getting nicotine. If I were you, I'd take a closer look at how much I was eating and how accurately I'm logging. If you are consuming too many calories for your daily needs, regardless of exercise, you will gain weight.
-
I say no thx if it doesn't fit well into my calorie goals, OR I make it fit into my goals for the day.
-
Actually the extra 1.5 miles beyond 3.5miles is not the same. depending on how fast you are walking it adds up to 25-30 extra mins a day. Project that over the week (5-7 days) and its an additional 2.5-3.5 extra hours of exercise a week. It could make a difference.
-
That's how I lose 2 a week at 5'2 140. My exercise outpaces what I can keep up on, cal wise. I eat between 14-1500.
-
Yes. And I've relost almost all the weight I gained. Assess what did and did not work the first time (is: unrealistic goal? Too restrictive a food plan? No plan for maintenance?) And go from there. Make changes so that this time you can and WILL be successful.

Good advice. I am losing at two pounds a week, weigh less than you do, but I also do two hours of overall exercise a day. While I dont suggest you do that (I am training for a marathon and mine is on sedentary because I'd rather add my cals in and have the extra cushion to insure loss) you could increase your overall…
-
Are you sure you're "lightly active" ? You say you average 5000 steps (or less) a day which is...sedentary. I have mine set to sedentary, though i average well over 10,000 steps a day (3-5 mile dog walk AFTER an hour of cardio at the gym, mind you) while I don't suggest you go below your cal level, something is amiss. Open…

Have you ever thought that maybe someone in your group feels that THEY are the "fat" or "unattractive" or whatever adjective friend? We all have different perspectives on ourselves.

Business as usual. Nothing special this wkend.

No.

I weighed 188 in high school. Hell to the no. I now weigh 140.

Thats the same answer i gave her but i guess she doesnt like that, lol.

I understood that to mean that since you were complaining about being hungry etc, yoi are inhibiting your progress by NOT EATING BACK SOME OF YOUR CALS-- not all of them. Losing weight too fast sets you up for problems including muscle loss. Hell, there was a thread where a girl who lost too fast was saying she was losing…

Apparently you need to count because you dont have a handle on how much you're really eating, otherwise you wiuld not have put on 20 pounds. Also, you may want to consider building muscle, and doing a bidy recomp, not losing weight. 140 is not a "yikes" outrageous weight for soneone your height.
-
I fail to understand how you can't get 10000 steps because you work only three hours a day?! If anything, because you have a, shall we say, more leisurely work schedule-- you should be able to do all that and more. I do--and I work 50+ a week.

I live in SoCal now, but back when I lived in Boston 40's and 50's degrees is the best time to workout outdoors. I'm a marathon runner and I found I would warm up after about 15 mins and not feel too hot while running. A long sleeved shirt and shorts. The coldest run I've done was in -25 while training for Boston Marathon.…

....I forgot to add...not only should the op see the Dr, she should, from this point on reduce her deficit to stop this, and since its likely that she lost more muscle than is desirable with the rapid weight loss, her metabolism is probably compromised. She should consult a nutritionist as well as a fitness expert. This is…

Short answer: you lost weight too fast. Too high of a deficit. 1-2lbs a week is healthy to insure that most if that weight is FAT. above that, a higher percentage is muscle unfortunately for you. 160 days=5 mos which should be around 40 not 55 lbs if you want to keep lean muscle. That's what I've lost and I'm at 160 days…
