  • Starting Weight was 228 back on the 6th of July. First weigh-in 222.6 on the 13th. Second week Weigh-in 218.2 today. 9.8 pounds dropped. .2 away from goal. Hopefully every week will be like these past two, but I know from experience that I do this for 2 or 3 weeks and then hold steady for a few weeks. Congratulations to…

  • This morning I could hardly believe what I was seeing. I weighed myself twice just to make sure. I then used the scale at the community center to check my home scale results. 222.6 Lbs. Down 5.4 pounds from last Friday. WooHoo!!

  • 228 on Friday 06 July 2012. Shooting for 218 or less on (or before) 04 Aug 2012. This group seems to be primarily women, if my presence as a non-female is bothersome or unwanted please inform me of such and I will remove myself. This is not an open ended offer. If I get invested in this group a few days and then someone…

  • Friends, I have sad news to report. Over the past few days, I have frequented many of the establishments in my area that carry fine Maker's Mark products but have, as yet, not found either Vitamin C or Cinnamon Crunch cereal. Things are not all bad however; although Maker's Mark bacon also doesn't seem to be carried by any…
  • The most common causes for constipation are too high starch intake, not enough hydration and too low dietary fat intake. Despite the myth, fiber usually does not play into constipation. When adjusting to a "healthy" diet, many people opt for low or no fat. This can cause a whole host of problems, not just constipation.…
  • Those sites are NOT usually illegal. And asking for information about other websites is NOT advertising. That's two strikes for you...
  • Maker's Mark Vitamin C! Makers Mark Cinnamon Crunch Cereal! WooHoo! Looks like breakfast got a bit more interesting! All I need now is Maker's Mark bacon and I'm a happy man.
  • There are many different causes for this particular affliction, and so many different solutions. Not all of which may be right for your specific condition. Most of the answers have already been given. The most common causes of constipation have nothing to do with fiber intake, despite the myths. Dehydration and too low…
  • This really kind of proves the point.
  • I have done this often. Well, as often as I have oatmeal for breakfast anyway. I have used both vanilla and strawberry, both turn out fairly good. I have never noticed a different texture as some have said. I also like to mix in a cup of Greek yogurt as well. This kicks up the protein level quite a bit and adds a good…
  • Wow, I can't believe we didn't see any of these quotes yet!! Leave the gun, take the cannoli. Or one of these from Bandits Beavers and ducks! People always say to "expect the unexpected". Right? Right. Always sounds like good advice. Except, of course, if you are expecting the unexpected, then well then it really isn't…
  • I agree that body fat % seems to be the biggest issue to overcome on the road to showing abs. As for the Contour, I haven't heard of it but I do remember some writings about a similar electrode stimulation for body builders. I think it makes sense, but that's what the snake oil salesmen bank on. If you already have it, I…

  • This is NOT rocket surgery people!! If you doubt how/why/whether any of this works, I suggest you look at the section of the message boards called "success stories". No need to make it more difficult. Let's not try to re-invent the wheel here. The KISS method works well here too. Trust in the system. Why does it work?…
  • I am thinking that maybe he forgot to calculate in the leap year cycles. He may also have been using either a Julian or Gregorian calender, both of which could account for his total idiocy; er...i mean his lack of proper calculations. Get onboard with the Mayans already! 21 December 2012! They at least had cool masks and a…
  • The main problem is that your LOOKING for the difference. You will not be the first one to see it. You see yourself every day in that same mirror, someone who hasn't seen you in a few weeks is going to be the first to notice. You will see changes, even if they happen gradually, if you take regular measurements. Such as the…
  • True Mexican cuisine is naturally low in calories; Tex-Mex on the other hand has a lot of fats and cheeses and foods fried in oil. So the best thing would be to watch what you eat. Soft flour and corn tortillas are fairly low in calories, chips have been deep fried, so they have a lot of added oil calories. Real Mexican…
  • Well, it could be several reasons, you haven't given much information to go on. You may be restricting too much and causing a hardship for your body. Possibly you are consuming too many calories and so not as much of a caloric deficit is created. Possibly too LARGE of a deficit has been created.... Without more information…
  • OK, so this was a given in your question, but veggies are a WONDERFUL chip replacement. I have recently replaced things like crackers and chips with cucumber or zucchini slices. You still get that crunch, but they are much healthier. They add a great flavor blast to what ever you are dipping them into.
  • Oh, also, and this might offend some of you, The Pope. I am afraid of the Vatican City Pope. To all of you out there who think this is silly I say, listen. Any 80+ year old man in a white silk dress who is one hat choice away from being the 'Ultra Grand Dragon Pooba Wizard' of the KKK frightens me to death. But this new…
  • OK Clown's are a given. As it is right and proper and good that the world hate clowns. Some people are afraid of heights, but not me; I am afraid of widths. Also, this one is rare, being chased around a kitchen table by two timber wolves on a freshly waxed floor while wearing only socks. This one is called Luposlipophobia.…
  • I have also substituted the black beans for pinto or even once with "chili beans" when I was in a hurry. Black beans are more authentic but were not well liked by a few of my clients.
  • Here's a good one. You can substitute brown rice for the basmati, but that extends cooking time. Regular cook time with the basmati is about 30 minutes all told. This makes enough for 12 to 15 servings as a side dish. Ingredients 1 red bell pepper 1 poblano pepper 1 jalapeno pepper 1 serrano pepper 1 ear corn, shucked 1…
  • OK first off, it is an immutable fact of the Natural Universe that clowns are incredibly creepy. But it does not stop there. Many people who BECOME clowns are also creepy/evil thus multiplying the creepiness factor. Not to mention that when I was young, there was a serial killer running around dressed like a clown. So add…
  • Unfortunately, the stomach is one of the first places the body deposits fat to store. My experiences with reduction in the stomach tend to tell me the body (at least MY body) works on a 'first in, last out' type of philosophy. This being said, I have only seen results in the abs from intense cardio coupled with strict carb…
  • OK. It's cheaper to prepare your own anyway. So is this a mark FOR the economic 'crisis' here in the US? Also to TheGoktor, Argentina is NOT in the US and is not controlled by US Government. I'm all for laying the blame on elected officials but let's at least get the geography right. Very few soil types would grow no…
  • I agree that an addition of protein could help here. an egg white or 2 is still fairly low in calories and may help fill the gap. Fruits tend to tide me over better then vegetables, possibly because of the sugars, I find that an apple, banana or orange works wonders when I am not quite as full as I should be. For me, the…
  • My dad used to scramble pig brains and eggs, cooked together, and then smother the whole mess with strawberry preserves. I never really had the courage to try them but he seemed to think they were great. Some things I HAVE tried are a boiled egg with salt and pepper, smashed into a spot of maple syrup with a fork. It's not…
