  • When I'm short on time and resources (the usual eggs, cheddar, and turkey sausage w/green peppers and garlic), I fix a bowl of plain oatmeal and stir in a packet of Justin's Maple Almond Butter. I almost always keep both in stock.
  • I completely agree. Yesterday, I ate four Fiber One banana nut muffins amongst other crap. (I had gone too long after my martial arts class without eating and ended up binging). I worked out a lot so I earned almost 900 calories and I was still under my goal, but eating 800 some odd extra calories back isn't going to help…
  • I'm pretty focused on my carb to protein ratio, so it helps to plan my meals in advance so I can see if I'm eating too many carbs, not enough protein, etc. I also worry about my calcium intake. The con of doing this is I force myself to eat food that I don't want. Not that I force myself to eat when I'm not hungry, I just…
  • I think my dog left that in our yard this morning... Just kidding!!!! I'm totally gonna try that. Have you tried banana pancakes? Basically: 0.5 banana (mashed), 2 egg whites, cinnamon - cook like a pancake and voila!! (I add .25 tsp of baking powder too...). I guess you could add protein powder for more protein, but it's…
  • I'm 23, not 16. I love classic rock, alternative, old school R&B, and jazz. I can speak Spanish and Italian. I often speak slowly and stare into space a lot. People think I smoke pot or that I'm just plain dumb, but I'm actually really intelligent. They're usually pretty suprised when they find out about my educational…

  • Amy, you're such an inspiration. Way to stay motivated!!! I got home from martial arts class late last night, didn't get to bed until midnight, and didn't manage to wake up at 5AM to do Yoga X. I felt like crap. Soooo guilty. I actually spent a good 15 minutes or so rationalizing NOT doing it. I'll at least make an effort…
  • My Kashi faves: ~ 7 grain frozen waffles ~ Mayan Harvest Bake (frozen meal) ~ Pumpkin spice flax crunchy granola bars, TLC ~ Cinnamon coffee cake crunchy bars, GoLean ~ Honey almond flax chewy granola bars, TLC
  • I hope so. I'm a 34DD and the boys love 'em but they don't have to carry them around all day!
  • Run at least 1 mile, 3 miles max, then do some intense stretching.
  • Who cares?? All that matters is that it's occassionally necessary. Be free!!!! (Sometimes...)
  • Oh, Shelby. I'm addicted to those banana pancakes!! I'm trying them with honey, trying them with almond butter, trying them using sweet potatoes instead of bananas, trying them with oats... I'm on a healthy pancake frenzy thanks to you! Please share any other delish and low-cal recipes!
  • ~ My puppy - he's funny, loving, and disobedient. ~ My outfit - I'm wearing a navy pencil skirt and a hot pink (the color makes me happy) spaghetti strap lace trim tank. The best part is I don't need a belt to cinch my waist and hide my gut!! I'm finally seeing a difference in my weight loss!!! ~ Elvis Duran - love that…
  • Not a big deal. I have a desk job so I work out at least once a day, sometimes 3 times a day. It's not like I would spend these 8 hours exercising if I didn't have to work...
  • Water retention is a normal symptom of your menses. A little weight gain is normal. (I know from experience and research).
  • It REALLY helps! I was underestimating some days and was super hungry; sometimes I overestimated (Yoga). Also, you won't get the same burn for the same workout every time. As workouts get easier, you burn a little less calories. Can't wait to hear how it goes!!!
  • Day 37/90 is DONE. Can't believe we're almost halfway there! Plyo kicked my butt today. That's the only workout that doesn't seem to be getting easier, but I'm still in love with it. Chest/Shoulders/Tri just may help banish my armpit fat so I'll try not to hate it so much.
  • Definitely loving this! I think this is sooo interesting. (Even the ones as simple as mine).
  • I added 0.5 tsp of baking powder to give it a little bit of fluffiness. Soooo good!!
  • If there's anything that's an absolute MUST is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Everyday! Organic cold pressed coconut oil makes my hair sooo soft. Washing with conditioner mid-week to hold you until your next shampoo wash keeps it soft too. My hair has grown an inch in 30 days and it's manageable and healthy, and no, I…
  • They have ones with the same chocolate almonds but with honey roasted peanuts thrown in as well. Delish!
  • I actually don't like tea at all but I feel like I'm missing out on something because it has so many health benefits. I'm gonna try this and see how it goes. Thanks!!!
  • Whether you throw it away or give it away, just get it out of your house and work on your will power. Anyone can put any kind of junk food in your face but only you can put it in your mouth and eat it.
  • I stop the HR monitor as soon as the workout is done. I still monitor my HR just to see how long it takes to get back to normal, but I don't count the calories during that time.
  • What kind of hair do you have? Type 4a? 4b? I recently started a hair journey to grow my hair out, so I've made some changes to my hair regimen. I still get relaxers, but not every FOUR weeks like I used to - I stretch it out to 8-10 weeks. I don't straighten it that much anymore using heat. I used to flat iron it all the…
  • I recommend that you get a HR monitor as well. As you progress through the program, you'll notice that for some workouts, you start to burn less calories. Doesn't necessarily mean you're not bringin' it! Just means that you're getting used to the workout. For Yoga, even though I was sweatin' bullets, I only burned about…
  • I have nothing useful to contribute; I have no reasonable explanations. Just thought I'd offer my experience... I weighed myself this morning. (I put it off since June 17th). I'm up 1.1 lbs, but the shorts I'm wearing today fit a tiny bit more loosely than they did a few weeks ago. I will go to the store TODAY and get some…
  • Besides nuts and the usual produce that I have to buy, sardines! (Don't be grossed out). Low cal, high protein, great source of calcium. Perfect for quickly filling in calories w/o having to cook.
  • Booty bump! And a hi five...
  • Kashi has a frozen meal called Mayan Harvest Bake!!! Soooo good.
