Hey! I'm doing Keto -- just started a week ago. I'm now in ketosis according to my pee stix. :-) I'm a runner with type2 diabetes (MUN subtype) with hyperinsulinism so, this is the only thing that's going to work with me during marathon training season. I'm working with my doctor and dietician, so I'm closely monitored. As…

When I pee on the toilet, I now have to make sure I close up my legs or I get splash back on my self. Cuz my thighs are so much thinner.

I'm 5'10" and I didn't make a weight goal, I made a size goal - I just wanted to be in single digit jeans. Size 8. I surpassed my goal and got into a size 6 (but gained back a few pounds and wearing my 8's again). I've lost weight twice in my lifetime (first time almost gained it all back). The first time I lost weight my…

I like the weight watchers meetings, which are extremely helpful and the weekly weigh-ins are awesome if you have a problem with accountability. But WW online isn't any better than MFP. In fact, I find this community much better and more friendly (with the exception of a few trolls that you'll learn to ignore). I haven't…

I totally agree with Caharleygirl that you should get your diet plan from a dietician or your doctor. I'm starting the ketogenic diet today. And this has been approved by my doctor and dietician. Also, you should be taking your BG levels and seeing how different food combinations and foods affect your blood sugar and what…

It would be good if it integrated with music, but it's a spy mission. Quite good. I've caught myself taking extra walks around the building at work just to finish an episode.
-
YES! I do wish it integrated with music. :-) And I've caught myself taking extra walks to finish an episode.

I'm just starting out on this Keto thing. I've been recently diagnosed with Type2 diabetes (not fair because I'm not overweight and very, very active) with hyperinsulinism and my doctor put me on a 50 carb/day diet. And it seems that to be a long-distance runner you need to either eat all the carbs or none of the carbs.…

I just bought "The Walk" for my non-running days. FUN!!! Now, I want to just get up and walk all the time to listen to what's coming next.

Not only did I finish, but I still run. I've done 10K's, 12K's, half marathons, whole marathons, and 1 Ragnar race. It's addicting!!!

I love working out in the mornings. Because then there's no excuses. The longer the day gets, the more excuses I'll make for why I can't go work out. "I'm too tired." "I've gotta cook dinner." "The kids need stuff." "It's too hot."

It's a gamification of running. You listen to a story and you're one of the characters - Runner 5. And you have to complete missions. You can even turn on Zombie chases where you have to run faster or you'll get caught. If you get caught, you drop items that you've been finding in your missions. Then you go online and you…

Hey, Bidimus! I found you. It wasn't intuitive at all. I had to go to Settings > Other services. You'd think "add friends". Hmmm...must've been designed by an ex-microsoftie. LOL! (That's where I work)

Saint Ralph. Best. running. movie. ever.

I set my lifestyle as sedentary and then track all of my exercise calories. It feels more honest that way - especially if you eat back your exercise calories.

A gallon/day is my goal. I LOVE water. I loved water before my weightloss journey, so pretty much it's my favorite drink. Not sure about weight loss, but I have so much energy when I drink my water. When I don't drink it, I'll be so sluggish and tired...and I'll crave sweets.

I'm 5'10" and I don't have a picture, but I can tell you that it usually takes about 15 pounds until I start to see changes in my body. I've got short friends that lose 5 pounds and it's so noticeable, but not us tall gals. And I'm about 10-15 pounds to go down a clothing size. Conversely, it takes about 15 pounds of…

I used to go by myself to the drive thru and always get 2 drinks so that the cashiers wouldn't think all that food was for me.

My doctor put me on 30-50 carbs (total not net) a day. I only have to do this for 3 months to get my hyperinsulinism under control. I ate 1 raspberry this weekend. It was delicious.

I also suffer from being an great cook. I'm also a CIA certified pastry chef. Trust me, it's painful. Channel your awesomeness into new flavor combos and making the dishes you love into healthier versions. Consider it a challenge. Healthy food doesn't have to suck.

I usually feel a binge coming on when I haven't had enough water. Stay hydrated. Chew gum. Go to bed. :-)

I use flavored stevia liquid. My two favorite flavors for greek yogurt are the Valencia Orange and Lemon. MMMMM....

Hey, Bidimus!!! I'm a runner too! In fact, we've got a lot in common. I'm a minimalist runner -- I wear merrell pace gloves. Vibrams never fit my short, stubby toes. :-) I'm finxta get my first pair of Luna Sandals, this summer. I'm running Ragnar NW Passage here in a couple of weeks. My issue is that I've been recently…

Start making part of your social life incorporate exercise. Join exercise groups: meetup.com. Start meeting people who are more active and like to do the same things you do. The running community is great and I've met so many friends. Good luck!

Jimmy John's has an Unwich. Which is any sandwich wrapped in lettuce instead of bread. Quite good. I'm also celiac, so can't eat bread and it's delicious. I also like Taco Time's SW Chopped Chicken Salad with pico de gallo dressing. I think the whole thing is only 14 carbs. :-)

I think the C25K program really doesn't mean that you should start you've never done any exercise ever before. My husband is just now getting interested in running and I told him that I'm not even going to let him start jogging/running unless he can walk 3.1 miles at 3.5- 4mph. Once he's at that level of fitness, then…

I eat chicken legs for breakfast. I know it sounds weird, but once a week I buy a huge family pack and roast them in the oven. I eat two every day for breakfast. I like to eat while driving to work. And the great thing about chicken legs is that they come with a handle.

Hi, Blanca! I'm 44, but I just got diagnosed last week. I've got a lot of work to do and need support also. I'm low carb right now because I've also got hyperinsulinism, but when I friend you, you're welcome to view my eating diary for food ideas, etc. Good luck!
-
I sent everyone a friend request. :-) Thanks so much for the support! If you didn't get a friend request from me, send me one.

Thanks for the advice, S! I'll definitely look at the ketogenic diet for recipes, etc. I'm already a pretty healthy eater before I got diagnosed with diabetes because I was already pre-diabetic. But I also double-checked with my doctor and it's definitely 50 total carbs. Not sure if you're diabetic, but when trying to…
