  • No problem! I knew what you did, as I've confused myself the same way with Map my Run maps. Still, 20 min on sand for that distance is nice pace! Cheers!
  • Yeah, I believe you're doubling the distance accidentally. Notice the map shows start and finish at the same point? 3.6km is for the total round trip. Sorry, no Olympic dream for you this year ;)

I've been maintaining a 13,000/day step average on my Fitbit for 10 days straight (previously 11,000, and 8,000 before that). It doesn't feel any harder, thanks…

  • There's no tracking rules here. Anyone can share their steps, miles/km, minutes, or even just posting the lovely things they saw or did while moving our bods. :) Oh, and fantastic active times this week, @SamanthaLouiseMence <3 You're rockin' it!

  • Oh, I'm so in!! Let's walk the world! Since I average 11,000 steps daily, I'll set a monthly goal of 341,000 steps for August and see if I can exceed that. This is my first summer in torrid heat (Las Vegas by way of the Northwoods of Wisconsin), so I've been doing A LOT of Walk at Home videos and mall walking. I won't let…

  • Yes. Not all the time. Not in the large portions I used to consume. For example, I used to eat a Big Mac, large fries, and Coke. Now I will get a Mcdouble only, Diet Coke, and a side salad with low cal dressing (or eat it at home with a pile of roasted veggies). Old way=1,000+ calories New way= about 400-500 cal
  • +1 It's that simple.
  • Enell bras. Changed my life. Pricy, but worth it. Designed for the full (and fuller) busted. Their sizing system works such that one size will fit through 2 or 3 conventional sizes, while giving bullet proof support through your changing bust. So really, a $70USD bra lasts 3 times longer than a $30 one.
  • Yep. I'm up 4 pounds and I'm so bloated today. I didn't log, but ate modest portions of dinner (and maybe a whole lot of jelly beans, lol). Plus, it was very sodium laden food. I've been at this long enough to know that it is just extra water and will be gone in 2 days or so. I'm totally taking advantage of this extra fuel…
  • I don't like rice (sorry, ancestors, lol). But my family does. I couldn't do it without a rice cooker. Pour in rice, water, and any add ins. Push button and wait. No threat of scorching or undercooking. Switches to keep warm setting once done. So convenient and makes perfect rice of all variety.
  • It doesn't have to cost more. In fact, my food bill is half of what it used to be, because I eat smarter/smaller portions (and far less cheese and wine indulging, sigh, but I digress...). And, incidentally, I eat more fast food burgers at a lean weight than when I was fat. *I* made me fat with all my delicious, whole food…
  • I've had Fitbit for 18 months now. I also have 18 months of spreadsheet data, detailing my intake and weight. Fitbit estimates daily maintenance of 2200 for me. My spreadsheet estimates 2167. Online calculators estimate 1900-2000 for my stats. So, yeah, I trust the higher estimate from my Fitbit, which is more in line with…
  • Since you're a Nurse Assistant, I would guess there's times you do a lot of walking while pushing carts, chairs, cots, etc. In that case, a tracker worn on the arm won't pick up your steps well (mine doesn't while pushing the cart at the store, for example). So, something that clips to your trousers waist would be best.…
  • It will weigh a little less after refrigeration. I love cold pizza (and hot, too lol). I don't weigh it, I log it as 1/8 of the pizza or whatever portion it is. I'm otherwise fastidious with weighing food, but not takeout or restaurant things. I just wanna enjoy my night out away from the kitchen, lol.
  • 5'6", 145lbs. Maintenance is about 2100/2200 for me. 3x/week strength training and 60 min daily brisk walking.
  • Yep. And if your uni has a fitness center, take full advantage of that. I studied full time (15 credit hours), was a research and teaching assistant for two professors, and I have 3 children and a spouse whom I make time for. Lost 26 lbs, got fit, and I graduated summa cum laude. The getting in shape part took, by far, the…
  • Umm, I'm turning 40 (and that's hardly old), and I have the best body of my life. Heck, I have an even better body than 2 years ago. Even a frumpy suburban like person of my age can benefit from bulking and cutting like the youngins do ;)
  • Coffee (decaf for me), Mio type enhancers, and one Diet Pepsi or Diet Sprite a day are my yummy fluid sources.
  • Ha, me too! Small game and fish for my daily protein (free). Spend $20 on 20+lbs total of rice, potatoes, beans, and grains (whatever is less than $.50- $1/lb). Use rest of money for oil, salt, pepper, maybe couple gallons of milk and eggs, and a bottle of vitamins from Dollar Tree and local deep discount food center.
  • So...the other person is likely doing the same program as you? Perfect! Introduce yourself, say you're doing the same program. Now you have a partner. You guys only need the rack for squats (take turns), and you can spot each other on bench press (or use dumbells, if there's heavy enough ones). Rows, OHP, and DL can be…
  • Yay, my TOM, too :o. I always get a 2-3lb shift on the scale, it's my warning that menses will commence shortly, lol. But it typically floats back down in 3-4 days. As far as what I do, I pop 2 Advil and place the feminine protection and carry on. My strength training usually sucks, but I just do a deload week, and do some…
