  • You guys are all too sweet ^.^ Thanks so much! If it weren't for MFP, and all of the amazing people, I wouldn't have been as successful as I have! You all are fabulous!!
  • Firstly..... I-O (for all my fellow Buckeyes!) But seriously, Thank you guys so much for your encouraging words! It's really great =) If it wasn't for the MFP community, I wouldn't have been as successful as I have <3 For those of you who have inquired about my exercise, I mostly use the elliptical machine but have…
  • Well, what more is there to say other than I am soooooo proud of you <3
  • If you don't have a heart rate monitor, you can use this calculator to estimate the calories you burned http://p90xcalories.com/

  • It's different for everyone depending on your age, gender, weight, and activity level. This is a helpful link with a good bit of info, and a calculator at the bottom to get your BMR and go from there =) http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/245588.php
  • Hey there! Sorry to hear you are having a hard time!! I know how frustrating that can be!! I have actually been pretty successful with Atkins. My husband and I have been doing the induction phase since January of this year and have lost 56 lbs so far and my husband has lost 70lbs...so it does work =D To answer some of your…
  • I personally use the Splenda, but I have read that others do have issues with it stalling their weight loss. Also Atkins recommends limiting it and counting each serving as a carb towards your daily intake.
  • Thanks so much <3 I will for sure take care of him. He has been a force to be reckoned with lately!! From what I have heard, you are nothing short of an inspiration yourself!! You have done a fabulous job!!
  • I'm pretty sure you just summed up my life as well. Food became something that I could enjoy, and something that made me happy, and eventually I lost control with it too. I'm working really hard to continue enjoying food, but in a more moderated manner. I couldn't even count the amount of times I sat down, ate some…
  • Thanks =) Yes, absoulutely more energy, I feel better, have less back pain, and happier for sure. I still have a long way to go, but we're going in the right direction
  • Hey there! I'm also a 12 hour night shift nurse. The first step is , taking the plunge and trying to be healthier, so congrats on making that choice =) MFP is fashioned towards the daylight folks, but that doesn't mean we can't use it the same. My breakfast is my first meal after I wake up. And then I move on as if it were…
  • So proud of you!! You are doing great <3
  • My husbands account randomly got banned yesterday too....without reason. You can enter a ticket online, or just call them. The wait was like 30 minutes for the phone, but his ticket was resolved before then. His account was back in working order within the hour.
  • Low carb coleslaw is a good side/carry in thing to make (cabbage, mayo, vinegar, splenda, spices, tiny bit of carrot if you'd like) Cucumber sandwhiches are good finger foods. Use slices of cucumbers with no carb deli meat and cheese or mix some herbs in cream cheese to spread on them. Meat and cheese trays. My grocery has…
  • Hi there! Well I was eating the atkins bars and shakes, but have stopped using them. The shakes didn't seem to bother me, but after about 1.5-2 weeks of introducing the bars into my diet (induction phase) I stalled and even gained 2 lbs back...akk! I wasn't a believer when others said that they would stall you because they…
  • Thanks for the link! Ordered mine too =) I only eat the bars when I have an unbearable urge to eat something sweet. I love the cookies and cream bars. They taste like a huge twix bar ^.^ Not very cookies and cream, but delish!
  • If the strip is registering ketones, then they are being spilled in your urine. So yes, welcome to ketosis =) Every one is different in regards to ketosis. It's how your body responds. For example, my husband started showing within 3 days, and was showing extra lage/highest reading on the strips within a week. I on the…
  • I'm on most every day, and have lost about 30lbs....add me if you like =)
  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing this!
  • My husband and I have been doing the Atkins diet since the first of the year. We have been pretty successfull. I have lost over 20lbs and my husband of 30lbs so far. You mentioned feeling hungry and worried about giving in. The first week/couple of weeks you do feel like you are starved. It's ok. EAT! Don't go way…
  • Hi there! I've been a nurse for about 7 years, and am currently working in med/surg. Add me if you like! I know it's terribly hard to avoid all the bad food choices with our lifestyle....where I work, there is always a HUGE basket of candy and chocolate right under my nose not to mention the stuff people bring in to munch…
  • I work 12 hour 730pm-8am and have been struggling with this as well. It's good to see that there is no real right answer lol. I guess doing whatever seems natural to your life works as well as any other method.
  • I'm a night shift nurse as well, and it is hard. And I never know what day I should include my "lunch" on considering I usually eat at like 3-4am and eating at all hours of the day depending on what "schedule" I'm on that day makes everything a crazy mess. I'm not sure there is a good solution =( If you or anyone else has…
  • Hi there! 26 y/o and need to lose about 100lbs....have lost 28 of that so far though =)
  • Hi there! I'm not really short either, but friends are always good to have =) Feel free to add me!
  • Hi there! I'm 26 years old from Ohio. Been gaming for about 4-5 years. Started playing WoW when my hubby conned me into trying it. Played pretty addictively for a while, raiding and what not. I haven't played steadily though for a bit because I had been doing the school/work/family thing for the past year. Tried out Rift,…
  • Thanks everyone =) Hope everyone is having a good Thursday!
