Please add me as well. I am 53 and would like to lose 50lbs as well. We have a hiking trip planned to the Grand Canyon in October and I need to stay on track to be in shape for an overnight journey.......I live in Southern California.

I am very hungry after swimming 1 mile. I usually have to try hard to not overeat. I usually eat a cheese stick, or an apple or a 100 cal pack of almonds. I agree with the polar choice. I have the Polar FT40.......I LOVE IT. I invested the extra $50 for the module to upload the data to Polar Personal Trainer. There are lots of motivation on that site too. I also have used a SUUNTO T3. It had an upload feature as well and cool graphics, but no web site. I would go Polar all…

I love my Polar FT40. I paid about $100 for it. I also spent the extra $50 for the unit that allows me to upload my data to their web site, www.polarpersonaltrainer.com. I also had used a lower end version the F6 (I think it is an older model). That worked well too. Good luck and keep moving.

I have the Polar FT40 and love it. I can download all my data online at polar personal trainer. I paid about $100 for the watch and $50 for the unit to download. Well worth the extra benefits. You can join challenges online and stay motivated. Good luck with your search.

I would try the swimming backpacks from TYR or Speedo. They are roomy and have several compartments as well as easy carrying. They are well made. Good luck!

I love my Poar FT40. I can upload all my results online and enter challenges to keep me motivated. It's easy to use and numbers are big and easy to read.

Hi, I use the FT40 which is more economical and has the download feature. I really like the HRM and use it for a lot of different activities. You can often find coupon codes online for Polar products.
