An acquaintance of mine was just shot and killed...same scenario as yours over the past 10-15 years...as if his aggressive, abusive tendencies weren't enough, it apparently took him shooting his entire family, including children, to put him in jail.

I'll start tomorrow, too!

Wow...what an amazing transformation! It kinda makes me want to tell myself to get it together, lol!

Whenever I've done SBD in the past, I've never counted calories...one of the reasons is that because of the diet, you naturally consume fewer calories. This last time (lost the 13 lbs you see in my ticker), I did track here on MFP and I had days where I was easily 400 - 500 calories under and I was just NOT hungry! I <3…

The only thing that helps me is complete avoidance...I basically cycle in and out of the first phase of the South Beach Diet. By cycling, I mean I'll do it until I lose X amount, take a break (sometimes gain back a pound or two), then back at it. This isn't intentional. Ideally, I'd stick to a plan, move on to the "nicer"…

Do yourself a favor and learn to celebrate yourself and your loss at every size, because otherwise, all of this hard work will be for nothing. Trust me, if you don't, you'll be feeling this way even when you hit your goal weight. I've been there...went from a size 14/16 in high school to size 4/6 in my early 20's...but I…

My husband has definitely told me he would NOT want me to get muscular or too thin. He likes "soft". From what I've seen of pics of ex-GFs, he definitely prefers a softer, rounder figure. But he's also been honest and has told me he worries if I lose a lot of weight and get skinny, I'll attract too much attention from…

Protein :) When I'm going hard-core on the South Beach Diet, I struggle to meet my daily intake because I'm just not hungry. Sure, I have some days where I could eat a horse, but I'd say 80% of the time, I feel great.

Aw, sweetie, I am so sorry for your loss. Tigger was obviously much loved and that is a great gift!

Public displays of affection - not okay with as of now because it's not equal across the board. When my brother kisses, hold hands or hugs my sister in-law in public people would go aww. When I do that will my same sex date, people go EWW, GROSS. Yep. You let me know when and where you'll be...I'll be cheering you on :)

Crockpot meals? Hearty soups? I think somewhere between 4 and 15 dollars is realistic...4$ is just not enough to provide nutritious food :/

Hi, I'm Eddy! I'm 32, a veterinarian, and live in Oregon with my husband and our 2 dogs and 4 cats. I absolutely LOVE South Beach. Honestly, it's the only way I've ever been able to lose weight...carb-free is the only thing that works for me. Although I've never been diagnosed, I'm positive I have insulin resistance. We…

For something sweet, I like: 1 serving SF chocolate pudding (Jello-O), topped by 1 tbsp of light Cool Whip and a tbsp of shaved almonds. All of these are approved on P1 (a limited # of calories from SF sweets...100, I think?). I have a hard time with lunch, but to be honest, I'm rarely very hungry on SBD P1...I try to eat…

I'm TTC #1 after a loss last year...starting acupuncture on Monday. For anyone who is interested, there is a TTC group on MFP...TTC for Mommies to Be (or something like that...)

I think I'd be happy with 3x a week exercise...I used to run, and loved it. I'm trying to get up the courage to get back out there.

I went about 2-3 weeks eating way under my calories and didn't lose anything. Then, I had some "bad" days where I ate my 1200 calories and even a bit more on a few of those days. I was so bummed on those days...I felt like I was sabotaging myself. Well, those were the weeks that I lost the most. It isn't as though I went…

I love, love, love SBD! I have done it many times and have only had success/felt my best when on the SBD. I went from 210 to about 152 on SBD, then gained a lot of it back over about 4 years in Vet school...it was just a really rough time. I've already lost about 15 pounds of what I gained doing SB these last few months,…

1 inch is great! I think you should make your diary public, though. I've lost more weight since I made mine public.

Well said!

Pet insurance...20-or so bucks a month. I am a veterinarian and I see a lot of people who love their pets and want to help them...and many times, they can afford to do so because they invested in health insurance for their pet.

"we got our pit from a breeder on Craigslist. i don't see why you should have to pay unreasonable amounts of money for one, just check out the pups and the parents if possible to see how their temperment is...paying more is not going to give u a better deal and a lot of the breeders u find overbreed or the dogs will be…

Nope. My husband made a comment about my arms (super self-conscious about them because they are easter-european, farmer arms) and how maybe a certain cut isn't flattering......Yeah, haven't forgotten that. Won't wear sleeveless shirts. Won't expose my arms. That was 10 years ago.

One of the many things I miss about food in Israel: it goes bad. Our bread goes bad in a day or two, milk a few days, veggies a day or two. The food here? Man, it lasts FOREVER! I have milk dated out almost 2 months! Yikes! The bread never goes bad, lol. Can we say, preservatives? ICK!

Found it!

How do you set your macros?

Do you know where/how to add the Net Carb Adjustment to the diary? Sorry, still learning my way around this site...

oops :( Sorry, I just saw you posted that. It is very, very true. I'm also TTC (been trying for a year since a miscarriage last year and it took 2 years the first time), so I understand the disappointment.

I would get a pink-dye test just to make sure.
