What helped me was somebody saying to look at every offering and ask if it is something special or if it'll be around for you to enjoy later down the line. Then just eat the truly special things. For example... a cook out. Somebody's grilling hot dogs and there is a table of food available. Chips, store bought cookies.…

Somebody gave me a recipe for a make it yourself version... I prefer it to any commercially available shake that I've tried (atkins, slimfast etc). Mostly because the others either contain too much sugar, or don't leave me full. Recipe (please note that this is highly modifiable to taste.... and for the record I HATE…

I am maintaining at 134-137. I shoot for 1400 but usually end up averaging 15 or 1600 when you include my weekend splurges. I am lightly active and get in 1 to 3 30 min weight lifting sessions per week. During the week I try to stick to mostly fruits, veggies, proteins and carbs. But on the weekends I'll go for a burger or…

I'm going to be different and say talk to your doctor. Because feeling great at that weight is awesome and means a lot, but you don't want to stop if you are still at risk for health issues. But you could be perfectly healthy at that weight... What we think doesn't matter if you and your doc think that is a great goal. I…

Yeah... I recommend pics. It's incredible to remind yourself of what you used to look like. Especially when you feel inclined to overdo your calories one too many days. Good to remember what constant overeating will do...

I'm 5'3.5" and I aimed for 125, but I felt pretty happy at 135 so I adjusted my goal. After reassessing I decided to go to 130 as I start to lift heavy and reassess again. Mostly I'm just interested in body comp at this point. I'm happy with my weight and if my body fat was lower I'd be over the moon. Nobody thinks I need…

... yes. Duh. ... losing steadily at current calories... you will then need to adjust to maintain. As a general rule.

I'm not sure I'd want to be a full mentor, but I'm happy to be a friend. And in so far as you need motivation, I'll tell you to put the third cookie down.

Honestly... I had a goal of 100, but I focused on a goal of 10lbs a month but really focused on 5 lbs at a time. To the point where it still surprised me how much I lost. Focus on small amounts and reward (non food) often. It adds up!!

I always bought a pair of pants one size down so that I could try them on periodically to motivate me. It was always fun to be able to know when I could wear the next size. I pinned cute outfits that I liked so I'd have ideas when I bought my goal wardrobe. But in the end I just bought everything. *blush* shopping is too…

I actually really agree. And also with the post about your body needing time to adjust to the new weight. This post pops up pretty frequently. Usually from people who have lost a chunk of weight quickly. Either the people telling you to stop are trying to compliment you... you can usually tell because they are smiling. Or…

I'm sure you can... But that would probably get old really fast imo. I've done Leslie videos, and wii fit jogging where I can turn the tv to something good while jogging. Or you can jog in place on a treadmill. But all of those bore me quickly.

I'm happy maintaining. Feel free to add me. :)

I'd spank. I don't date adventure.

Honestly, I still can't figure that out. My original goal was 145. Never thought I'd get there. But I did and still wasn't happy. So then I went down to 140. Still not happy. At 135 I'm happy. I'm not truly in maintenance mentally, but I've seem to maintain this weight easily. I think I'm going to shoot for 5 more and then…

Sounds weird, but start taking to everybody. Talk about the weather, their hobbies, yours, coffee, doesn't matter. Just chat. With strangers. It's super hard at first, but you'll become comfortable with it c until it is habit. Then just add her to the list of people you talk to. No pressure. Just chatting. If she seems…

You are one of the best friends a gal could have on here. Thanks for writing so hard. It is inspiring. Knowing you are pushing on has kept me going strong! So happy for you!

Meh... I still get a pleasant jolt everyone every time I look in the mirror and see my new size. My brain hasn't updated its mental picture of me yet. So I hold up pants thinking they won't fit, but they do. And I think I'm going to break something by sitting on it. But I don't. But I'll keep looking at myself and…

Can't wait to say the same.

Yes. You should still have times to enjoy good food, but those days skills just be limited to special occasions so it doesn't deprive you if the other enjoyment of life. I get more chronic enjoyment from being able to walk comfortably in heels, or up stairs, or chasing my kiddos or not getting funny sad looks from…

I had lost about 50lbs when my back started to look way better. I ate healthy, walked and did pushups. I have a picture of my back in a strapless dress at different weights in my profile I think that you can see the difference. I love my back now. Just working on my tummy. But really, I lose weight in various places so…

I'm 26 and 5'4. I've been losing despite some stressful personal experiences. At the end I realized that one day the day the stress will end and I'll either come out hot and fit or depressed and flabby. If I still have to be stressed either way, id rather end it looking fabulous. So just make small diet changes and stick…
