I like the fitted look, but going from a 20 to a 8 or 10 made me learn that I like my money more. I try to buy one pair of cheap or used jeans in every size. And I try to buy work clothes- enough for a week every other size or two. I've found dresses and skirts to be more forgiving. Then I use belts or stitch a few to take…

Mine was a double whammy of buying (finally admitting) I was a size 20 on my 26th birthday, and then also getting a scary health screening at work where I was in the at risk category in everything. Blood pressure, weight, hip to waist, cholesterol, you name it and I failed. It finally clicked how big I had gotten and how…

I put things in one of two piles:donate pile or trash pile. Donate pile I let friends and family pick through then I donate to a local charity. The trash pile gets trashed. I have the outfit from my before picture that I kept. My favorite clothes I would take in a bit too wear just a little longer before putting in one of…

Love it! Hope you feel as great as you look!

Lately I'm being asked jokingly if I'm a new girl. Since I've worked in the same department for 3 years it is kind of annoying. But I get what they are saying and appreciate that to them I must look really different.

I'm 26. :)

Woo hoo! Congrats. I'm less than 5 lbs from normal bmi myself... I'm so stinking excited. Can't wait to join you at healthy/normal.

I was out with a new guy and he was a little chubby, but barely compared to how overweight I used to be. He kept making remarks about being pudgy and practically apologizing for it. Little did he know that 6 months ago I was morbidly obese. Weird feeling to be thin enough that a guy who was just a tad overweight felt self…

At least we aren't alone. We can do it. Woo hoo. I'm going to focus on giving myself a normal weight. Then giving myself some cushion so eating a big meal doesn't push me over. And then if I'm happy I'll start a slow transition to maintenance. Maybe just thinking of it as 15 lbs will help me stay true.

I'm slowly trying to win. First thing was I got a Fitbit. I realized that on a normal day I actually walked less than 1000 steps. So I decided to stop calling if I could get up and talk face to face instead. I did that and my steps jumped to 5000 a day. Then I worked on getting them to 7500 everyday. Then 10 flights of…

Sometimes when you eat that low for that long you slow down your metabolism. Sure you aren't hungry, but the burn isn't great either. I only realized when I ate one day at 3000 calories and then my next day at 1200. I was starving when normally I wasn't. So just not being hungry isn't a sign that you are eating enough. Eat…

Don't weigh yourself for a day or two after a cheat meal. Your weight will come back down. Just give it time. If your maintenance is 2k per day and you ate that plus 7,000 calories for that meal (way overestimating) then and only then would you see a true two lb gain. Just go back to normal and so will your weight. It just…

Oh, and they say one month to notice change yourself.

Eat more. Try to never net less than 1200, but I'd shoot for more like 1500. And bodies don't gain muscle that fast. More likely time of month, water retention, food in digestion etc. Maybe some water retention if your muscles were sore. Either way it should come off. Then just be patient.
-
1.69 2. 7 months so far 3. 1200-1500 most days. Special occasions more. 4. Not until I had lost about half. But now I jog and lift 2 or 3 days a week. 5. 200ish

Potentially the super serious ones don't beg for motivation because they've got it already. Maybe you're in the wrong forum and need to decide if you want to help those who are struggling and probably won't listen immediately, or if you want to be around the super serious ones who have enough motivation to read and…

I agree with all. And secretly love to poke my bones day or night just to make sure they are still there. :)

Woohoo!!

One for two above:Musician. Specifically, a member of a small alternative rock band. For person directly above: you'd date an environmental lawyer. Who was working to save the whales.

I remember reading online somewhere (so take it with a grain of salt) that Canadians could get it for free if they lost 100 lbs). But your body will tighten up for up to two years after losing. So I'd personally check out free options but hold off spending my own money until I knew my skin had adjusted as much as it would.…

I got to play on a jungle gym with my kids without feeling like I'd break it or get judged. :)

I bought the first single digit pants since sophomore year of high school (I'm 26 now). Little bit of a muffin top, but they zip and button. I'm so excited to be almost back into single digits. Woohoo. Another 15 lbs and I should be in 8s for real.

To quote Mulan: "Oooh, nice, very nice! You can sit next to me! " Congrats!

I lost 65 in 6 months. There were several stalls in there if a few weeks. Just be patient and consistent and the weight will come off. I usually netted between 1200-1400 a day, but I had splurge days where I was closer to 3000. Not often, but for special occasions. But the biggest thing for me was doing it in a way I feel…
