My plan had another foundation run today. I had planned to run before work but then remembered I had a meeting at 8:00am and did not want to risk running late, so I waited until this evening. 91 degrees - ugh! 2.35 miles complete.

I have used vinegar a few times with clothes but have never bought any sport-specific detergents. I too try to let my clothes dry before putting them in the hamper.

What an awesome photo, @shanaber! That sweeper is too funny, @eleanorhawkins! I love the photo of you as well. You're awesome! I ran before work this morning so that I wouldn't have to deal with the heat and so I could go to my Pump class tonight. Today's run was a "Fast Finish" - 5 minutes in Z1, 25 minutes in Z2, 10…

My marathon plan is by time for all runs other than the long runs, so my goal is just to stick to the plan as best as possible. I also want to incorporate strength training two days per week and be a little more conscious of what I am eating.
-
@eleanorhawkins I have never heard of resoling running shoes!
-
My plan called for a 40 minute "foundation run" today, meaning all in HR Zones 1 and 2. After that, I took my dogs for a short walk. I felt good on the run and could have kept going, but I didn't push it. I'm also trying to be more conscious of food moving forward as I get into marathon mode. I haven't been eating as well…

@martaindale I will definitely take it easy and cut back, if needed. Also, beautiful pictures! @eleanorhawkins Great job on your race!

I ran a 5K this morning and then walked my dogs another half mile. My marathon training plan starts tomorrow. My long run next weekend is 8 miles, which is a little stressful considering my fatigue, but I’m hoping in another week I’ll feel a lot better.
-
Sorry I haven’t been on much lately. The Covid fatigue really hit me hard. Yesterday I did my first run attempt. I only did 1.5 miles at a “comfortable” pace, and I might as well have been walking. It is so frustrating, but I know I just need time. My marathon plan for Wineglass starts Monday, so I am just going to take…

@polskagirl01 Great job on your race! @7lenny7 I’m glad you were able to make it back without encountering a tornado. Re: sunglasses - I have a pair of Tifosi that were swag from my last marathon, and I really love them. I am feeling a lot better except for residual cough. I went for a short walk earlier- my first venture…

I haven’t been on in a few days. I started feeling bad over the weekend and had a negative Covid test, but when I still felt bad this morning, I got a rapid test, and it was positive. No running for me until I can get rid of this cough. ☹️

@eleanorhawkins You’ve been busy! With all of the races and training you have done, I think you will do amazing at your upcoming races. @Scott6255 Hubby and I went to Barcelona a few years ago. I will try to look back at some of the places we visited and give you some suggestions. @7lenny7 Your map is crazy! That is…

My plan had me do 40 minutes in Z1 tonight, so hubby and I went for a walk, because I just can't run slow enough to stay in Z1. 1.56 miles. I'm trying to decide if I want to get up again and run before work to avoid the projected 95 degrees tomorrow afternoon.
-
@polskagirl01, I agree with the others and would count the hike as a recovery run. @RunsOnEspresso That is crazy that a kid ran the marathon! You know he probably had no desire to do it and the parents just wanted to make news for having the whole family to do it. You know he had nothing close to marathon training, so it…

@martaindale I use the Launch for my speed work and the Ghosts for longer runs. @SummerSkier OMG, I used to love Ray Stevens! Now I’m going to have that and the song about the squirrel who went berserk in my head! I went for a run before work today, which I rarely do. The plan called for 5 min Z1, 5 min Z2, 3x 3min Z4/2…

@7lenny7 Too funny! I'm glad you enjoyed your run. I love running in areas like that. For those of you recovering from COVID, just listen to your body and take it easy. I know it is frustrating to not be able to do what you normally do, but rest will help you get back there. Today was a rest day on my plan. Hubby and I…

@quilteryoyo Yes, I will be following the Marathon level 2 plan.

Hey guys, sorry to have been MIA. Life has been super stressful. I'm not going to set a certain number of miles for the month, but my goal is to not miss more than two days of my training plan this month. My marathon training plan starts in a few weeks, so I tacked on the remainder of my 5K 80/20 plan to the start of it…

My long run today called for 7 miles - 1 mile in Z1, 5.5 miles in Z2, and .5 miles in Z1. It was a slow run, but I felt good at the end...until I realized how sunburned my shoulders are! They didn't look red or feel burned for several hours, and my husband didn't notice until he left the house and came back. I have…

Is anyone else having problems posting from your phone? I haven't been able to post from it in a couple of weeks, getting an error message. I had a whole post-race report typed up and couldn't use it! The problem with posting from my computer is that all of my pictures end up sideways, and I'm not sure how to correct it.…

Hey everyone! Another busy week, but I did manage three runs this week. I have a race this morning, but I’ll post after in April. *hugs* to everyone with injuries! Stay safe, my friends!
-
Sorry I haven’t been on in a few days. I was on the road for work this week, so I had several long days. I did get in 5 of the 80/20 runs this week, plus a day of cross training. Three of the runs were shorter and were between zones 1 and 2. One run had hill repeats. Today was 6 miles total, with warmup and cool down in…

Hopefully, we’ll hear from @kgirlhart today to make sure her family is alright after the storms. Glad the rest of you are ok. The line is supposed to come through here in a couple of hours, and while we have moderate chances for strong winds and tornadoes per this morning’s news, I don’t think it is anywhere near as bad as…

@katharmonic, the cherry blossoms in my yard bloomed a couple of weeks ago, but it is a different variety than the Yoshinos we have in most of the city. They have started to bloom and should all be in full bloom by mid-week. Pic is of some blooms downtown on Saturday. *I'm not sure why the photo is posting sideways...

I started the 80/20 5K plan tonight with a "Foundation Run" consisting of 5 min in Zone 1, 30 min in Zone 2, 5 min in Zone 1. It feels so slow, but I am going to trust the process. I ended up with 2.42 miles. Hubby walked the route behind me while I ran. I'm way behind on miles for the month. I'm only at 30.43 miles, so I…

@shanaber I read that same article the other day. I am working my way through the 80/20 book, and I am going to start a 5K plan using 80/20 tomorrow to get in the groove of the training. @quilteryoyo, I think I am going to do the level 2 plan. Also, enjoy your new watch. Hopefully, it will learn your sleep pattern soon. I…

@rheddmobile That is sad to hear about the raccoon. I hope he doesn’t suffer too long. @kgirlhart Enjoy your visit with your daughter! I did another “test” easy run today for 3 miles, trying to do it by feel and then look at zones after before starting the 80/20 plan. I managed better today, staying in zone 2 half the time…

My 80/20 Running book came yesterday, so I spent some of my lunch break reading. So far, the info it provides seems pretty sound, so I think I am going to go through one of the 5K plans to test it out, and if I see progress, I’ll incorporate into my marathon training. Apparently, most people’s “easy” runs are actually…

@Teresa502 That sounds like such a fun race! I used to have family in Mt. Pleasant.
-
@katharmonic I’m sorry your vacation was canceled. Hopefully, the weather in your area will start to warm up a bit soon. Great job, @Avidkeo! Your pictures are awesome! Has anyone read Matt Fitzgerald’s 80/20 Running? I’ve seen more and more about it online, and I ordered the book yesterday. I think I run too many of my…
