I have to pick up hubby at the airport today, and I knew I wouldn’t get in a run tonight, so I did a “scrappy” (great addition!) mile before work. It was awful, mostly because I was going off if 2 1/2 hours of sleep. But, my streak is alive for another day. Speaking of cold, my office was freezing today. I wore my puffy…

Stay warm all of you with the crazy low temps! It will get down to below freezing here this weekend. Not a fan! Welcome, @cowgirlslikeus86! Please feel free to post any exercise you are doing. Many on here also post about other activities. @quilteryoyo, it is awesome that you were able to put together all your data and…

After my last post, I looked at the weather and realized it was going rain the rest of the day. Since I’m not traveling far for work today, I went ahead and got in an early morning 2 miles. January miles: 53.57 Streak days: 20

@rheddmobile Glad you are starting to get some answers. Great job on your lifting! @quilteryoyo, I’m glad you’re feeling a little better. Last night was a short run working on hill repeats. I warmed up for about half a mile and then tackled a large hill in my neighborhood 3x at about a 10K pace, jogging down after each.…

@quilteryoyo I am sorry that you are sick again. We’ve had a ton of people at our various worksites test positive, and almost all are vaccinated. It is spreading like crazy. 1.1 slow miles tonight, and a little bit of strength training on my lunch break. January miles: 50.36 Streak days:18

It is a chilly day here! I ran 2 miles this morning in 35F temps. It was nice just to run at what felt right instead of following a plan with a set pace. I finished in just under 20 minutes, then I took the dogs for a walk before giving them baths. Cleaning the house and then relaxing the rest of the day. Getting ready for…

Awesome job @martaindale!

It is raining and very windy here this morning. We currently have a wind advisory for 40mph gusts. Therefore, I decided to do my easy post-half run going round and round my downstairs. I completed 2 miles, and my legs feel a lot better than they did when I woke up. January miles: 47.25 Streak days: 16 I know…

Great job on your 5K @martaindale! Good luck on your race tomorrow!

My half marathon went well today! It was about 38F at the start, but I wore capris, a long sleeved wicking shirt, and my light Brooks jacket. I ended up taking the jacket off after about 3 miles because the sun decided to break through the clouds. The race went around the inside perimeter Robins Air Force Base, starting…

Busy week at work, so I have been lurking, but I have been getting in short runs each evening before my half on Saturday. The rain I was worried about won’t come in until later in the afternoon, but it will be in the high 30s when I start. @eleanorhawkins I second the recommendation of a windbreaker type jacket that can…

Today’s training run was 30 minutes at my prescribed easy pace. My legs felt like lead today after doing RIPPED and speedwork yesterday. Oops. My half is next Saturday, and right now it is looking like chilly and raining. ☹️ I am hoping the forecast will change. January miles: 26.46 Streak days: 9

Last night, my training run was a 30 minute easy pace, and I ran 2.8 miles. I got out later than planned, and it was getting dark, but temps were decent, and I felt really good during the run. I probably would have kept going if it wasn't dark. This morning after my RIPPED class, my training run was stride repeats of 10x…

Welcome, @Orsolla ! @polskagirl01 Great job! I know you didn’t get the views you wanted, but the snowy pictures are beautiful. @AlphaHowls That is a ton of accidents! People can’t drive here when it snows here because it happens so infrequently. This morning, I had a short tempo run as part of my taper. I worked from home…

@shanaber, Sorry I forgot to give my location - Macon, GA. You may have already set the map though. @rheddmobile, so cute about the raccoons! @juliet3455, those temps are insane! I was just contemplating whether I want to deal with 37F, not even negative temps like you!

I have joined and sent my money via PayPal. I’ll contribute more miles this year with marathon training and my effort towards a run streak. The last two days were not normal run days, so I did a mile after work each day. January total: 14.65 Streak day 4

For those of you who have run long distances with a hydration vest, which ones do you recommend? I think I might try one for my marathon in October instead of the belt I usually use.

I was scheduled for a 1:45 - 2 hour easy training run this morning, and I tried to get out early enough to beat the incoming storms. I ran until the sky was dark and my phone was beeping with alerts. I made it inside about 2 minutes before the bottom of the sky fell. I only ran for a little over an hour and ended up with…

Happy New Year! I started the year with a 4.05 mile progression training run. I am supposed to have a 2 hour long run tomorrow, but it looks like storms ALL DAY. I am hoping there will be a break somewhere for me to get out. Welcome back @faebert and @eleanorhawkins.

Awesome, @quilteryoyo, for adding your miles. Thank you!!
-
I finished up 2021 with 3.55 miles this morning. Happy New Year everyone!

I’m in for 75 for January. Does anyone have a goal for the year identified yet? I think I am going to try a run steak if at least 1 mile per day. I figure even on a rest day, I can do a light jog for a mile.

It does not feel like December with these temps. I have run in shorts for the last two nights. Last night was a short run after work, and tonight I ran with two women from my running group. It started to rain on us, and the warm rain felt so nice! All this talk of hiking makes me want to go hiking this weekend. I’m too far…

@Teresa502 My husband and I have talked about hiking the whole AT at some point. We used to do a lot of hiking and backpacking. My husband actually ran into Jennifer Pharr Davis, who used to hold the AT record, while on a hike and recognized her from reading her book. @Tramboman I hope your foot issue isn't too serious and…

As a therapist, I’m really interested to listen to the podcast and read the study. I plan to listen tomorrow while I have a drive. I have read everyone’s posts, and I’ll say that for everyone having health issues, I’m hoping for the best for all of you. Yesterday, I ran speed repeats - 4x 4 min at 9:13, 3 min recovery,…

@SummerSkier Great job completing RTY! Today’s long run was 9.55 miles. It rained most of the day yesterday, so it was humid, and the temperature dropped from 64 to 56 while I was running. Overall, not a bad run. I am one month out from my half marathon. Total for December: 45.7 miles
-
@katharmonic Great job on your 12th half! Today was my first run since Tuesday either because of working late or sinus issues. I ran 6x 800m at 9:13-9:33 pace, 400m recovery. With warmup and cooldown, I ran 5 miles.

My local women’s running group had a holiday party and run tonight. Most in the group meet in the mornings to run, but I never can join since I leave so early for work. Everyone brought a gift, and we did a little game, as well as a cookie exchange. Only part of the group ended up running, and since we had a variety of…

Welcome @Aprilstar480! I would try to do an easy run outside and see if you have the same pain. I never feel like I run “like myself” on a treadmill. Pay attention to your posture and foot strike and see if you notice anything that might be contributing. @AlphaHowls, I’m glad you and your family are all ok. I hate that so…
