I didn’t meet my goal for the month, but that is ok. I’ve been on call for 10/31 days of the month and had a major audit, so that slowed me down a bit. My hubby and I are on target for our Run the Year though (even though we are counting both running and walking)!

No runs for the last two days. I was so tired after work that I decided I was going to lie down around 8:00 to watch some tv and hopefully fall asleep. Four hours later, I was still awake! Maybe a run would have helped. I have to go to work to do rounds this morning, but I am going to try to get a run, and a nap, in this…

My kickboxing class was cancelled last night. I ended up a 2.25 mile walk around my neighborhood. I go on-call today for the next week. I hope to get in some runs, although they might end up being a couple of short ones spread out, depending on what is going on.

@polskagirl01 Glad you are getting settled! It sounds like nerves just getting to you. Hope it all settles soon. @quilteryoyo I’m glad you were able to get most things settled yesterday. You are doing great with your walks! I ran just a little over a mile on the treadmill before my body pump class last night. I’m trying…

@quilteryoyo Big hugs to you. I can’t imagine how frustrated you must be. @AlphaHowls I can’t even imagine running those miles every day! Someone in a local running group posted the other day that she ran on a cross country trail at one of the private schools. I had no idea it was there but went by on my way home from work…

I ran 8.21 miles at one of the parks by the river today. Started out in a tshirt and light jacket, but I ended up ditching the jacket about 1/3 of the way through. I go on call later this week, so I am trying to get in a few more runs before then, since that time can be so unpredictable.

@ContraryMaryMary Great pictures! I wish I had something as scenic near me! I attended my RIPPED class yesterday morning and walked a 5k afterwards. My goal today is 8-9 miles. I’m trying to decide where to go to run. I’m tired of running in my neighborhood.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Daisy. They ended up having to cut out more than they anticipated, so she has a 5 inch incision down her back. She was pretty out of it from the anesthesia last night, but she ate a tiny amount last night and her normal amount this morning. We should have the biopsy results…

@quilteryoyo It is Robins AFB. It was my husband’s last station before he transitioned into the defense contractor sector. Keep my Bassett Daisy in your thoughts today, please. She is having an tumor removed, and we’ll find out if it is cancerous. I’m really worried about her going under anesthesia since she is older, even…

Last night, I was sore from the previous day’s body pump, so I ended up just walking. I got in a little over 2.5 before it got dark. I’m thinking of signing up for a half marathon on the Air Force base here next month. I wasn’t sure if they were going to end up doing it, but it looks like they have put some pretty strict…
-
@quilteryoyo So glad you are feeling well enough to get in your walks! @eleanorhawkins Good job on the hills! I would get tired of running the same loop too. Hope you are able to visit your dad sometime this year. I had about 10 minutes before my body pump class last night, so I hopped on the treadmill for 1.2 miles. Slept…

@noblsheep I know that therapy isn’t so commonplace where you are, but I would recommend looking online to see if there is some sort of Zoom type or even chat type counseling available. As a therapist, I say that with some hesitation because I think that there is definitely a difference between in person contact vs virtual…

Ran a virtual 10k this morning called “Coffee. Run. Wine. Repeat.” I signed up because I wanted the tank top! 🤣

I ended up enjoying a 6 mile walk today instead of a run. I just wasn’t feeling a run, and I was able to chat with my bestie who lives far away while out. @Camaramandy648 That is some awesome running! Sorry about your job, but it sounds like you need someone more appreciative of you anyway. @AlphaHowls Hope you aren’t too…

Yesterday, I went to the gym and did a short ladder run with increasing/decreasing pace for 2.3 miles. I also worked on arms. It is chilly this morning, so I will probably get out after lunch to run.
-
@AlphaHowls Sorry you are dealing with SAD. I too recommend getting one of the lights if you don’t have one. Days are gradually getting a bit longer, so hopefully you’ll start feeling ether soon. @kirstymn That looks delicious! Yesterday, I took the dogs for a short walk (they are both elderly, so a half mile is all they…

@skippygirlsmom Glad the surgery went well and that you have Skip and such good friends taking care of you. @kgirlhart Nice shoes!

I ran two miles after work before it got dark last night. After today, I will have a four day weekend, so I am hoping to get in some longer, enjoyable runs. I also signed up for a virtual “Coffee, Run, Wine, Repeat” 10k. If the shirt and medal show up in the day or so, I will probably run that this weekend.
-
@rheddmobile I would do the trails. If you are already feeling iffy about it, I think that says that you know you should do it the way it is intended. @Avidkeo I would run before Park Run and enjoy sleeping in on Sunday!

My dreaded audit is finally over, so maybe I can breathe for a bit! I actually left work while still daylight yesterday and was able to go to the gym. I ran a mile on the indoor track before my body pump class. I’m hoping to pick up the miles now that I won’t be working as much. My husband keeps teasing me that he is ahead…

4.66 mile trail run this morning. It was about 36 degrees when I started, but I shed my gloves about a mile in because I was getting warm.
-
@quilteryoyo I am so happy to hear that your surgery went well. I hope the pain subsides quickly. All of you are doing so amazing on your runs this week! I am planning to go for a trail run later today when it warms up a bit. I went to work for awhile yesterday to get ready for tomorrow’s audit, and I walked a 5k, part of…
-
@quilteryoyo, I am thinking of you this morning. I hope all goes smoothly and that we hear from you very soon. No run last night. I ended up working 2.5 hours late dealing with some audit stuff.
-
I got in a short 1.5 mile run last night. I am hoping to get back on track now that I am no longer on call. I’m dealing with an audit now, but that is something I pretty much leave it work so I can run in the evenings. I am looking forward to a nice, long run this weekend.
-
@skippygirlsmom So sorry to hear about the long recovery time. One year is better than never though!
-
No run yesterday. I am so physically and mentally drained from work. I told my husband it was worse than running a marathon. If I can push through another week, I’m going to take a few days off. Podcasts I enjoy: StarTalk - if you like science stuff Conan O’Brian Needs a Friend Ear Biscuits - entertaining especially if you…
-
@skippygirlsmom I am so glad that you were able to grab the branches to keep the fall from being worse. I wish you the best as you recover. I’m glad the trail was busy and there were a lot of people to stop to help. Work was long and busy today. I was so sleepy when I got home, so I grabbed the dogs and went for a walk to…

I ran a 5k in my neighborhood this afternoon. It was in the 60s and quite humid. Welcome to all of our newbies!
-
Awesome job and medal, @martaindale! Great job on your race, @Teresa502! @skippygirlsmom ChallengeHound is acting weird for me too, making me do the sign in and follow links too. I’ve not had trouble with it in the past, so who knows what is going on. I worked half of the day and then came home to severe thunderstorms and…

My goals for the year are to complete the Run the Year with my husband with a combo of running/walking for us both and to participate in the Run the World challenge. I signed up this morning, so I’m sure it is a little late to add Georgia to the map, but that’s fine. I also plan to maintain my weight, trying to keep within…
