  • I convinced hubby to sign up with me to try to complete Run the Year together. He does a lot of walking and wants to get back into running more, so this can be a good goal for the two of us to work towards together.
  • I’ve been MIA but have popped in here and there to read and like. Hugs to all that need them. I live seeing everyone’s awesome pictures. Still undergoing a lot of work and personal stress. I just feel like one thing after another keeps popping up. Several of my counselors have left over the last few months (retired,…
  • @quilteryoyo, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your mother are in my thoughts.
  • @quilteryoyo I am so sorry. @skippygirlsmom I had something similar happen to me in the grocery store this weekend. I all of a sudden got really hot and dizzy. I quickly checked out and sat in the car for 20 minutes with a Coke and crackers. Nothing new here - I continue to be really busy with work. Staff leaving and an…
  • Monthly question? How much pie (or similar poor choice) have you eaten in the last 3 months? I haven’t eaten that much pie lately, but I seem to have been eating everything else for the last few weeks. I actually bought a new battery for my scale yesterday, so we shall see in a few minutes how much damage has been done. I…
  • I have worked late every day this week, so I haven’t done any sort of exercise, except some brief ab work one morning. I have been falling asleep on the sofa around 9pm every night, so I’ve been trying to get through the same tv show all week since I only get in about 15 minutes before zonking out. Maybe tonight I’ll find…
  • @quilteryoyo I am so sorry to hear that your parents tested positive as well. I hope for a quick recovery for all of you. It seems that my COVID work fears were all gossip. The officer who was spreading the news did give me the side eye yesterday, so I am wondering if someone higher up confronted her - I sure hope so.
  • Happy belated birthday, @Scott6255 and @shanaber!!! I’m so sorry to hear about your results, @quilteryoyo. I hope your symptoms remain mild. @ContraryMaryMary Your pictures are awesome! Congrats! We had new arrivals at the prison last week, and there was conflicting info Friday about whether some of them had tested…
  • @quilteryoyo You’ll be in my thoughts as you go for your procedure next week. @mbaker566 I’m glad the car didn’t hit you! So many drivers just don’t pay attention.
  • I’m already behind on the thread. Welcome to all of the newbies! I’m dealing with a lot of unpleasantness currently, so my goal is to stick to my training plan as best I can. I already missed yesterday’s run.
  • Great job to everyone who met their monthly goals! I ran 2 miles Saturday following walking a little over 3 miles doing a “Clue” type game downtown. It uses a phone app to interview virtual witnesses so you can solve a mystery. There were about 40 teams, and we came in 3rd! Yesterday, I ran 4.12 for my 40 minute “long,…
  • Happy Birthday, @Avidkeo! Drove back from my parents’ house yesterday afternoon. I have not been eating such heavy foods in the last 8 or so months while focusing on my weight, so I was really tired when I got home and did not get in my hill repeat workout. I shifted it to Monday and decided to do a walk instead. It is…
  • Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here in the US! I ran my 10k Turkey Trot in my neighborhood this morning. When I woke up, I looked at the weather, and a line of storms was on the way. I headed on out and although it rained for probably four miles, it didn’t start thundering until I was less than half a mile from home. In…
  • @katharmonic Hero pose is really painful for me too. I went to a yoga class a few weeks ago, and it was killing me around the knees - not because I was in my knees, but more so the muscles around the knees straining/tight? I haven’t experienced that with any other positions. Maybe I need to look at training with blocks…
  • Great job, @ContraryMaryMary!
  • This morning’s plan called for another time trial. Garmin decided to provide me with more positive feedback than last week. 🤣 I am a bit sore from doing a class and a run yesterday, so I didn’t run any extra other than the warm up and cool down. 2.66 miles
  • Happy Birthday, @AlphaHowls! I’ve never had that sensation, @Avidkeo, but I hope it stops for you! I attended a RIPPED class at the gym and followed it up with 2.5 miles on the treadmill. My Turkey Trot goodie bag was just delivered. I won’t take the medal out til after I run, but it came with a pretty nice jacket and…
  • I have missed a few runs lately, but I did do the prescribed stride repeats last night. The weather was a bit warmer yesterday, and the sun felt really good overall. It has been a rough week, so I am very glad for the weekend. I am behind on my monthly goal, but I am hoping to catch up over Thanksgiving. 11/1: 4.43 11/4:…
  • One day I was driving and saw a guy throw a pizza box down a sewer/storm drain on the side of the road. It was in an area with shops, so there were garbage cans nearby that he could have easily accessed. Made me so angry.
  • Had body pump last night, and hoping to get in a run tonight. Depending on how late I get home, it may be a treadmill run at the gym.
  • I didn’t run on Sunday due to multiple work calls/issues throughout the day. Garmin had a one mile time trial scheduled, so I moved it to last night. Although I was very pleased with my time, as it was a faster pace than usual, Garmin rated it as “room for improvement.” Grrr. 2.83 miles with warmup and cool down. Busy day…
  • @martaindale Pretty pictures! Lots of stress here. I did body pump yesterday but bailed on my run. Tried to get out but ended up walking a mile and stopping. I feel so drained that I don’t know if I will make it out today either. I’m tired of adulting.
  • No run on yesterday, although I walked for 2 miles after my conference. This morning’s plan asked for 4 x 600m at 7:43-8:13 pace/400m recovery. With warmup and cool down, I ended up with 4.1 miles. 20.4/50 miles
  • I worked late yesterday, and the weather was iffy, so I made myself go to the gym to run on the treadmill. Garmin only had me do a 20 minute “easy” run at 9:33-10:33 pace, with 5 minute warmup and cool down. I ended up with 2.6 miles because I walked the warm up and cool down. Today and tomorrow I am home to participate in…
  • Yesterday was my body pump class, so no run. I’ll probably have to run at the gym tonight because it is going to rain all day. Woohoo for all of you running the Ekiden!
  • @mbaker566 The Yeti race looks fun, but I would be so nervous to get a long distance as a surprise after a long day of work! @kimbeers Glad no one was injured! @quilteryoyo Beautiful pictures!
  • Congrats on the AG awards @quilteryoyo and @teresa502!!! I signed up for a virtual Turkey Trot tonight. I searched for some real ones in the area but couldn’t find any. This one has a cute medal, and you get a jacket and a beanie!
  • Today’s run was “long, easy” - 40 minutes at 9:33-10:33 pace, with 5 minutes each warmup and cool down. I felt really tired during the run and went over the 10:33 a few times. : 4.43 11/4: 2.56 11/6: 2.83 11/7: hiking 11/8: 4.28 14.1/50
  • @skippygirlsmom Great job!
  • Well, the reason it exists is because in the 1800s, locals in the area had some poor farming practices that led to erosion - so it isn’t totally natural. Georgia clay and sand just like to wash away easily! However, it created some cool looking features, and they’ve put in about 10 miles of trails in and around it.
