I can't speak for anyone else, but "eating trash" hasn't made me sick. Blood sugar, blood pressure, thyroid function, LDL cholesterol, etc are all where they should be, according to my doctor. I saw her back in August, so I'm not using old numbers here. My blood pressure used to be high because I smoked, weighed 50 pounds…

I think anything that causes vomiting and dizziness should be avoided if at all possible. Vomiting is second on my list of Things I Hate Most In Life, dizziness being third. OP, don't do this.
-
OP... I'll echo the sentiments of other posters when I say that you should avoid the gimmicky nonsense. The suggestion for making overnight oats is stellar, given that YOU can control exactly what goes into them and what doesn't. No sub-par ingredients or things you don't like. If the little ones like oats and fruit, you…

I used to get this great lotus tea in Chinatown when I lived in NYC. I really miss it. Currently, I'm drinking Dilmah brand Honey Mint tea and Acai Vanilla tea. Both of which are pleasantly fragrant and actually taste like their name. I'll drink decaf black tea on work nights, regular green tea in the mornings.

If I have the calories, I eat the cupcake. If I have some but not enough to eat the entire cupcake, I split it with Mr. Colossus. If I don't have the calories, I have a cup of tea and get over it. Sometimes it's tough, sometimes it's easy. Motivation is irrelevant to me, because it cannot be relied upon for a long time. I…

Did you miss that post from the gentleman who said he asked another man at the gym for advice, OP? Maybe you should try that instead of flailing on your keyboard about how people on the internet are mean and won't help you. You say you don't know how to use the machines, yet you're in a gym. With trainers. And other…

::tips hat:: Enjoy it with my compliments. :]

I like Sandra Lee. I lovingly refer to her as Drunken Hines. I used to watch her show when I had cable because I found it oddly entertaining. Her recipes...not for me.

I suppose that like most things, this depends on the person. Mr. Colossus and I drink diet soda, but keep snacks rather well portioned. We also drink a fair amount of water, coffee and tea throughout the day. Drinking water will keep you full, so you'll be inclined to snack less.
-
Nah. Thanks for the offer though.
-
So "all sodas are poison to the body over time"... But... "Try vodka and soda also with a lime." Are you talking about soda WATER in that second statement?
-
I'm really disappointed in myself that I didn't make a "Blame It On The Rain" joke in my answer to the OP. ::hangs head::
-
So it would seem. Damn lack of a sarcasm font. ::shakes fist::

For his health, yes. For his appearance, no.
-
Did you not say that the one response was negative? If not, I'm wrong and retract my response.
-
quote="rainbowbow;30370942"] Also, I don't think those other ones relate to op at all. I mean to be fair, it looks like people were trying to be helpful and many gave helpful responses. One of the negative ones? "I know you are looking for a book to tell you what to do... Have you considered doing your own research and…

Words on a screen make people "feel like crap"? Two pieces of advice: Stop giving your power away. Don't assign tone where there is none.
-
I only ask "clean eaters" for a definition because I want to understand precisely what is meant by the term. Nothing more than that. I want to understand what they're saying so I remain informed. That really isn't an unreasonable request.

You are the winner of the day.

Hey OP... I cut back on drinking beer and whiskey, but I didn't cut them entirely. Unless you're an alcoholic or are in recovery (good luck and keep up the good work to those that are), you don't need to eliminate alcohol since you enjoy it. I'm a fan of whiskey and soda, or a single on the rocks. I limit myself to one…

OP: Grow up. Google is your friend. There's an entire internet's worth of stuff out there for you to peruse. If you don't know how to grocery shop, cook, put together a meal or other things functional adults should do... No amount of advice from strangers will help you, nor should you rely on randos for assistance. No…

Thin is not an indication of health. Neither is "toned", "lean" or whatever other word you want to use. Good health is when the body is functioning properly, no disease is present. There's no one body type that has the market on health. NO, I'm not one of those "fat and healthy" believers, so let's not go down that road.…

No. As soon as I hit my goal weight, I'm setting myself on fire to protest asinine posts like this.

If one is a "fiend" for candy, there are a few options: 1) Eat a small piece, then move on with your life. 2) Have none at all. 3) Figure out why you go insane with candy, usually with the assistance of a professional. 4) Do nothing. I'd recommend #3, even if you never want to have candy again. It's better to have an…

Replace "skinny" with "healthy". The only numbers that actually matter are the ones you get at the doctor's office. Clothing size is not an indicator of health or well being.
-
Indeed. This is a lot more logical. Better taste and texture, better numbers = preferable to something else. There's no nebulous, unnecessary dichotomy to fiddle with. I'm very fond of the deliciously filthy feta cheese, especially in omelet form.
-
Then your sugar point is moot. Eat whatever you want, squire. But don't pretend that it's somehow superior to something else when it most likely isn't.
-
There's plenty of instant oatmeal without sugar. I know this because I buy it for Mr. Colossus, who is diabetic. Most people I know who prefer steel cut like it because they say the texture is more to their liking. I can't discern a huge difference, but that's probably because I ingest filth all the time. ::shrug::

OP, stop giving your power away on the internet to people who are asking you questions and disagreeing with you. No one called your character into question. But people generally don't care about how "it's ok to say no to cake & ice cream". If that works for you, great. You come off as preachy, smug and superior. That…

Do the OP's salty tears fit into the "clean eating" program? If not, I'm going to need a mop.
