I guess it likes to play hard to get :)

I feel for you. But that's the wrong approach. If you do the same thing that he did then there won't be any difference between you too. And i am sure you don't want that. Lose weight for yourself and not to get back at him. It appears that your partner doesn't love you anymore. Whether you want out is upto you but that's…

I feel for you. But that's how it works. Tummy and face are the last places to lose fat. For long drives, you can keep a cushion on your seat. That might help. I think.

It's still not there. And i feel discriminated against because my buddies with Android phones do have that scanner. :-)

How about telling your husbands to bring you flowers instead of food to make you happy.

You can be monogamous and still have plenty of it.

Thank You...I 'NEEDED' this article. :)

The cardinal rule of making any halwa is to mix equal quantities of ghee/butter, sugar and carrots or whichever halwa you are making. Dried fruits can be added as per taste. I think if you include the healthy versions of everything that you would use, it may help. Try it with Vanila ice cream next time. It tastes even…

Good for you.

Swimming, even walking in the water will do till you recover.

Well i don't really have any problem with you trusting the naturopathic medicine over allopathy. The problem is that you think that naturopathic medicine is superior to all the other forms of medicine. And your comments regarding chemotherapy are very short-sighted, so i am not going to comment on those.

So if a doctor says he doesn't have a background in nutrition, you would believe him but if a doctor says that he does have adequate knowledge about the same, then you won't. Like i mentioned before, you tend to agree with only those things which support your thinking. "first". But they do later and i wonder why.

Sitting behind the desk and making baseless assumptions is easy. Convincing a dying cancer patient to go for nutrition therapy rather than surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy and accepting responsibility for the same is not. Try that sometime. When someone has lactose intolerance, gluten allergy, anemia, malabsorption…

We are very happy using olive oil. Btw last I checked the composition of beef tallow, it had 50% saturated fat and 50% unsaturated fat.
-
2 questions 1.Are you saying Vegetable Oils are the only sources of PUFA/unsaturated fat? For cooking would you rather use butter or olive oil? 2.Who advocated using vegetables oils, the ones you have mentioned? I don't remember even a single person on this entire post who has claimed that vegetable oils are good for you.

The problem with you is that you believe only that information which complements your thinking and ignore everything else, no matter how correct that maybe. For e.g. you conveniently ignored the fact that the only two essential fatty acids required by the body are PUFA. Rest all the body can synthesize on its own including…

As far as polio is concerned, the observation was right. It is more common in summer because water and food play a big role in its transmission. So you won't agree with something that we know today because that will change tomorrow, why would you believe something that we may know tomorrow knowing there is going to be a…

Don't make it sound like a fact. It's just your opinion. And it may NOT necessarily be right. BTW both the essential fatty acids [which body requires but can't synthesize on its own] are PUFA - Linoleic and Alpha Linolenic Acid. And this is a fact. You can look it up online or refer to any book on nutrition. But still if…

HDL and LDL are the transport forms of cholestrol. Lipids are hydrophobic, so they form complexes with proteins. HDL takes cholestrol from tissue[adipose, blood vessels etc] to Liver where it is metabolized. That's why it is called GOOD cholestrol. LDL, VLDL take cholestrol from liver to adipose, blood vessels etc where it…

I think its just futile to explain that both Nutrition and Medicine and a lot of other degrees [Registered Nurse, PA, Pharmacy etc] fall under a broad category called Life Sciences and share the same basic principles. I don't object to anything. Please pardon me for trying to express my views on the topic.

What's with you guys??? According to RDA, 33% of the total fat should be saturated fat and it is recommended exactly because it is needed. Did i ever say in this entire post that our diet should have no saturated fats at all??
-
Its not my fault that you find my attitude condescending. It actually reflects a lot about your attitude. Its surprising that you find it insulting because obviously if you talk about cyber security which i have no idea about and call me a layman, i would understand. But here that's not what we are talking about. But…

As per the RDA. <33% of your total fat should be saturated. Rest should be unsaturated. That's the point i have been trying to make all along. More Unsaturated fat, less saturated fat. I never said don't eat saturated fat or just eat unsaturated fat but still don't know why are people being so hostile.

I have a degree in medicine and i know a lot more in detail about the physiology, biochemistry and pathology of fat metabolism and the correaltion with CAD etc. And that is after reading a variety of books. But this is taught even in elementary school that all the carbs are broken down into glucose, fructose and galactose,…

The wikipedia is a collection of articles. There are references to those articles at the end. The studies have been done in institutions like Stanford etc and are reviewed by peers.

I get what you are trying to say but your assumption is wrong. Out of the butter and corn syrup, which is worse - definitely corn syrup. Why - It is important to keep the composition of each in mind. While butter is mostly fat, corn syrup also has a lot of processed sugar and carbs in addition to the fat. So corn syrup is…

Cris If you are making comparisons then it is only fair that the factors are kept constant. Why do you compare naturally occuring saturated fats with artificially processed unstaurated fats?? Compare naturally occuring unsaturated fats with naturally occuring saturated fats and artificially processed saturated fats with…

Tell me HOW is it different???

Most of the naturally occuring fats are 'UNSATURATED'.
