It can be so hard. What I have found helps me is eating lots of salad and veggies as snacks. I stay 'under budget' every time. Also, when you do eat bread/cereal, make sure it is super high fiber. This affects your net carbs. A good one to try is "Fiber One"//

Since you are sore, you should rest and drink plenty of water. I would reccomend a light snack of lowfat yogurt and fruit, or perhaps half a peanut butter sandwich. You need more calories for your body to repair itself and optimize metabolism.
