It's good to see I am not the only one. I work a 32 hour shift (basically there from friday afternoon to sunday afternoon) and I have to prepare all my meals to take with me. I only have what I prepare so there is very little snacking (maybe a bag of popcorn or tea and crackers before bed to relax). I think preparing meals…

Grapes... I actually buy a big bunch and put them in the freezer. I pop them in my mouth one at a time to enjoy the cool sweetness. One cup of green grapes contains 104 calories and 1.4 grams of fiber.

My Cycling Challenge for the month is of September is: Get a bike, needed accessories (lots of pads, lol), and get on the bike every day. Lots of hills where I am, this is going to be a real test of my will power.

It wasn't really a conscious decision at first. My Doctor upped my thyroid medication from 120 mg to 180 mg and the pharmacist started giving me Armor Thyroid again instead of the generic version. I started feeling better. Pretty soon the water weight came off really fast (10 lb of it). Then I realized I was actually going…

Hello everyone, I have been here a few months now and am happy to say I am having my first success in years. I am a veteran Hypothyroid of 30 some odd years and have taken most of the synthetic medications which, for me, the only one that worked was synthroid before they changed the formula. I am now taking armor thyroid 3…

Research : Exercise, good nutrition, especially vitamins C and E, !!! EXERCISE!!! and (this is a quote) "The best way to avoid loose skin is to lose weight slowly, about 1-2 pounds per week. Slow weight loss allows you to maintain muscle mass while losing fat and it also allows your skin to adjust as you lose weight."

Agree with suzybe30. I have been living with it sense 1990 and find that the exercise keeps my metabolism up where it is supposed to be to lose weight. Diet without exercise, no results, no diet no exercise... gain steadily. The more exercise you find time to do the higher your metabolism will stay and the more calories…

I am 61 years old come August, and I have Hypothyroid with a very slow metabolism. Keeping my weight down has been a struggle most of my life but I have had a heck of a time with my weight over the last decade. I started with MFP less than a month ago and I have already lost 9 lbs. Watch your sugar content, it hides…

Two days (20 minutes at a time) of walking around in circles pushing a very heavy wheelchair up and down hills (my client is a quadriplegic female). I guess Ill find out tomorrow morning when I weigh myself if I balanced out the calories with the extra activity.

I've been up and down sense I was 10 years old but I really packed it on after my thyroid failed and I became less active... that was in 2001. I went from 120 lbs to 160 lbs it seemed like almost over night. I have gained another 90 lbs sense then two or three lbs at a time.
