Fantastic! Must be an amazing feeling!!!

This is SOOO true! 'Eating for my mouth' or eating for gustatory sensation only is a huge part of what got me in trouble in the first place. Pretty sure I have a good handle on knowing my sleeve but I am such the work in progress.

Regarding hunger….first thing is reflux and ppi. If you're not taking one, probably need to. If you are, may still need to explore with your surgeon if need different one or higher dose. If its not reflux and actually is hunger feeling well….So, they remove the majority of grehlin producing part of our stomach but not in…

Here's the skinny….you ROCK! You have taken ownership of your health and your life-I'm so sorry for the stress and ugly stuff going on right now but so incredibly impressed and proud for your approach to it all. I am encouraged by your progress and accomplishments and look forward to rejoicing with you on future successes!

STRONG work! I think this is the most challenging aspect…overcoming the emotional triggers that don't get removed with surgery.

Great job-you look amazing!

Has to be an amazing feeling!

Glad you are doing so well!

Not a powder but I use premier protein rtd as coffee creamer. 3 large cups of coffee a day gets me through 1 rtd, which is 30 grams protein. I usually drink at least 2 cups/day (most often decaf) and if I don't do the 3rd I just save the remainder for the next day or use that evening with stash chai tea.

You look fantastic-healthy and radiant and beautiful!

Thaeda…as always, completely blown away by your thoughts. Please consider writing about your journey to share beyond MFP. I think so many are hungry (pardon the pun) for honesty and transparence and for someone who can acknowledge the struggle and exhort and encourage. You have such a voice.

Ditto to what Randy said….too many possible variables and MANY reasons for mild to moderately to really elevated liver enzymes-some benign, some not so much. Would touch base not just with your surgeon, but with your primary care provider.

So many different responses you will probably get to this question…its a very individual decision. One common response is 'I'm on a medically designed plan under the supervision of my physician'…or some such thing. Some are straight up straight ahead I had surgery. Me? I have not hidden the surgery, but I have not…

I am thankful for a fairly uneventful postoperative period….other than it taking HOURS for me to really wake and some constant low level nausea for the 1st day or so. I found the first few weeks to be very challenging from a 'what you can have to eat or drink' standpoint…but once past that-Bob's your uncle. Hang in there,…

Parsley is a natural breath freshener that is really quite effective-I found it works pretty well in ketosis.

Fantastic-stong work!!!

Other than the 1st week post-op the weight has not fallen off for me…..now, granted I am only 7 weeks postop, but I am pretty sure this is going to be a slow, plodding process with success measured like that old inchworm song. I'm mostly good with that but it can be frustrating. I think putting the scale away is a good…

Different plans have different goals. For me-I am to focus on grams of protein only, not so much concerning myself with calories. Protein first and as the focus. Check with your nutritionist as to how your program wants you to proceed.

Big difference, and strong work!

Absolutely good for him. One of the things I love about him (and practice in general) is their ability to just be real. If you figure out that patience thing, will you clue me in? Strong work on your post operative progress and glad you are feeling so good!

You know, I tell patient's families every day that patients don't read the text books and therefore don't follow our proscribed courses for their various illnesses. Pretty much the same thing for us…wonder why I didn't get that sooner!

That's soooo hard! Keep pushing forward and just know that very quickly after you are able to advance your diet pureeds will be but a distant memory.

Thank you Pat-so glad to be on this journey with you! Focusing on how much better I feel is, I think, going to be key. And the truth of the matter is, I feel better than I have in years.

Strong work! Doesn't if feel good!?!
